The journal embraces the broad range of settings and ways in which vocational and professional learning takes place and, hence, is not restricted by institutional boundaries or structures in relation to national systems of education and training. It is interested in the study of curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment, as well as economic, cultural and political aspects related to the role of vocational and professional education and training in society.

Abstract

Teaching factory implementation is expected to be link and match between school and industrial world to produce competent graduates who can meet the demand of industry. In its implementation, teaching factory requires teachers to understand its concepts, technicality, and implementation. Evaluation is necessary to be conducted to obtain an overview of the success and benefits of teaching factory. However, recent evaluations have only focused on the aspects of results and constraints, yet the whole evaluation is the one that is significant to carry out. Therefore, this research attempted to evaluate teaching factory using CIPPO (Context, Input, Process, Product, Outcome) model. It analyzed the implementation of Teaching Factory in Adiwerna 2 Public Vocational High School or SMK Negeri 2 Adiwerna, the success and benefit levels of teaching factory viewed from the aspects of context, input, process, product, and outcome in SMK Negeri 2 Adiwerna, and factors constraining the implementation of it. To do so, the researchers employed quantitative method through questionnaire, interview, and documentation as the data collection instruments. For the analysis, the research used percentage description system. The data analyzed were collected from research subjects including the principal, vice principal in in charge of facilities and infrastructure, vice principal in charge of curriculum, the head of Computer and Network Engineering (CNE), Internship Group, Special Job Market (SJM), teachers, and students in grade XI who studied productive subject of CNE and business / industrial world. The results showed that: (1) overall, the implementation of teaching factory in SMK Negeri 2 Adiwerna run fairly well. (2) the context aspect gained the mean percentage of 64% in the fairly good category, the input aspect gained the mean percentage of 71% in the fairly good category, the process aspect gained the mean percentage of 74% in the fairly good category, the product aspect gained the mean percentage of graduates was 62% in the fairly good category, the outcome aspect gained the mean percentage of 84% in the good category. All those aspects obtained the mean percentage of 71% in the fairly good category. (3) there found several factors constraining teaching factory implementation and things to improve in the aspects of context and input. The context aspect lacked of cooperation with business / industrial world in the procurement of facilities and training with the mean percentage of 40% in poor category so that the subjects taught were less synchronized with the real situation in business/ industrial world. Meanwhile, the product aspect or the graduates who were absorbed into business/ industrial world were less optimal that based on the tracing data, the graduates of CNE in 2019 who were absorbed into business/ industrial world was 40% in the poor category. This calculation was even less optimal since there left 31 students of 94 with the percentage of 32.98% who have not yet given report so that it contributed to significant calculation results.
The Effect of the Application of Interprofessional Education (IPE) Simulation Using Role Model Method Towards the Knowledge and Attitude of Nursing Undergraduate Students in Universitas Islam Sultan Agung

Abstract

The lack of knowledge and attitude of the students toward interprofessional education make the students have a hard time to communicate effectively because they come from different health program, need an approach and knowing the habit of the other students that they will communicate to and work with in increasing the health service. The aims of this study are (1) analyzing the effect of the application of interprofessional education simulation using role play towards the knowledge improvement about the interprofessional education for the nursing undergraduate students in Unissula, (2) analyzing the effect of the application of interprofessional education simulation using role play towards the attitude about interprofessional education for the nursing undergraduate students in Unissula. Quasi-experimental methods was used in this study. This quasi-experimental research design is pre-test and post-test without control group. The instruments used in this research were questionnaire. The type of the questionnaire was the closed questionnaire which was a questionnaire with provided answer. The data analysis used in this research was paired sample t-test analysis by doing analysis towards the pre-test and post-test. The result of validity test by using product moment correlation in the application of interprofessional education using role model method towards the knowledge about interprofessional education for nursing undergraduate students in Unissula was that from 28 items of question in the instrument, there were 3 invalid questions which were the question number 12, 14, and 21. The reliability result by using Alpha Cronbach in the application of interprofessional education using role model method towards the knowledge about interprofessional education for nursing undergraduate students in Unissula was 0.877 from 25 items of question. The validity test result by using product moment correlation in the application of interprofessional education using role model method towards the attitude about interprofessional education for nursing undergraduate students in Unissula was that from 12 items of question, all questions were valid with reliability point of 0.960. The research result show that the usage of interprofessional education using role play method towards the nursing students may improve the student’s knowledge in the effort of increasing the health service that centered on the patient because there are (1) an improvement in the pre-test and post-test result as many as 16.55 for pre-test and 25.82 for post-test; (2) data distribution (standard deviation) in pre-test is 5.370 with the error standard of 0.767; and (3) data distribution in the post-test is 0.486 with error standard of 0.069. Besides, the application of interprofessional education using role play method may affect towards attitude because the average student’s attitude shows the result of satisfying attitude category with 33 students (67.3%) and quite satisfying category with 16 students (32.7%).

Abstract

Industrial Class is a cooperation class between school and industry with the aim that graduates can directly be accepted to work in industry. In addition to its industry-based curriculum, this class receives support from industry in the management of learning and instructors from industry, as well as internship opportunities with special facilities in industry. The advantage of the school is the absorption of graduates with relatively short waiting periods or no waiting periods for graduates. The purpose of this study is to analyze the constraints of the recruitment process and the implementation of Industrial Classes in schools. This study used a qualitative method. The information used is manager and industrial class teacher. Data sources used are the principal and the Industrial Human Resource Development (HRD). The research instrument was an interview sheet. The data analysis of this research were data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The population of this study was the Vocational High School in Semarang with samples of state vocational school 1 Semarang, State vocational school 11 Semarang, and central java state vocational school. The results showed that the implementation of the Industrial Class still had several problems, including (1) schools found it difficult to collaborate with industry; (2) there is no ideal industrial class recruitment model reference yet; (3) Industrial Class socialization is very limited and has not been able to capture qualified prospective students; (4) new students (VHS) do not yet know information related to industry; (5) parents and the community still consider negatively at vocational education that is identical with violence, delinquency, and difficulty in getting a job; (6) industrial involvement is still limited or not optimal; (7) there is no guarantee that students who graduate from Industrial Class will be accepted to work in the industry; (8) schools find it difficult to collaborate with industry; and (9) Schools lack competent leaders.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi Proses Pelaksanaan Program Kompas Masa Depan di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri 2 Adiwerna. Salah satu bantuan GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenartbeit) adalah program Kompas Masa Depan. Sebagaimana kompas penunjuk arah, Kompas Masa Depan akan menuntun siswa pada perjalanan panjang menuju karir impian. Di dalamnya penuh dengan kegiatan-kegiatan yang akan membantu siswa SMK mengetahui minat dan kelebihan yang dimiliki setiap siswa. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode  survei dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini sejumlah 1381 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan  rumus Isaac dan Michael. Sampelnya 275 siswa kelas XI terdiri dari siswa laki-laki 138 siswa dan siswa perempuan 137 siswa, yang ada pada program keahlian: Multimedia 89 siswa, Kriya Logam 56 siswa, Teknik Komputer dan jaringan 75 siswa, Kriya Tekstil 30 siswa, Kriya kayu 16 siswa. Analisis data menggunakan Analisis Deskriptif dan Independent Sample t- test 2 pihak. Hasil penelitian dari pengumpulan data tersebut diketahui bahwa perolehan skor evaluasi uji analisis deskriptif indikator laki-laki 72 masuk kategori tinggi, sedangkan perempuan dengan 65 masuk kategori tinggi, dan secara keseluruhan 69,49 dengan kategori tinggi juga. Hasil uji t dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan perolehan skor antara laki-laki dan perempuan. Kompas Masa Depan perlu terus dilaksanakan karena sangat membantu menyongsong masa depan siswa-siswi untuk meraih kesuksesan sesuai dengan target SMK yakni menyiapakan tenaga kerja yang siap kerja, berwirausaha dan atau melanjutkan ke perguruan tinggi. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the Implementation Process of School to Work (STW) at Vocational High School of 2 Adiwerna. One of GIZ's help (Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenartbeit) is School to Work (STW). Like a compass pointer, the School to Work (STW) will guide students on a long journey to a dream career. In it is full of activities that will help SMK students to know the interests and advantages that each student has. The method used in this research using survey method which used quantitative approach. The population in this study were 1381 students. The sampling technique used the formula Isaac and Michael. The sample of 275 students of class XI consists of male students 138 students and female students 137 students, which are in the program of expertise: Multimedia 89 students, Metal Craft 56 students, Computer Engineering and network 75 students, Textile Kriya 30 students, Wooden Kriya 16 students . Data analysis using Descriptive Analysis and Independent Sample t-test 2 parties. The result of the data collecting is known that the evaluation test of descriptive analysis of male indicator 72 is in high category, while women with 65 are in high category, and 69,49 overall with high category as well. The result of t test can be concluded that there is no difference of scoring criteria between men and women. School to Work (STW) need to be continued because it is very helpful to welcome the future of students to achieve success in accordance with the target of vocational preparing the workforce ready to work, entrepreneurship and or continue to college.

Abstract

Production unit plays an important role in education of vocational schools but unfortunately not all vocational schools can manage it effectively. The problems faced by the production unit at vocational school in implementing its program are inadequate infrastructure, very minimal human resources managing the program, lack of school principal’s commitment, and lack of cooperation between the schools and industry. This study is limited to the management problem faced by the Production Unit of State Vocational High School 1 Warungasem, the study program of Motorcycle Engineering and Business. This includes HR management aspects, customer service, marketing strategies, and financial management. This study is quantitative research which aims to describe the management of the Motorcycle Engineering and Business Production Unit of the State Vocational High School 1 Warungasem. The respondents in this study were the school leaders, the Production Unit managers, teachers, and students. The data collection used questionnaires, observations, and interviews. Then they were analyzed using quantitative descriptive data. The results of the questionnaire assessment showed an average score of 44.4 or 84.2% for the aspect of HR management and an average score of 79.4 or 83.6% for the aspect of Customer Service. It means that both aspects are very good. Meanwhile, the Marketing Strategy obtained an average score of 15.3 or 76.5% which means it is good and the aspect of financial management obtained quite good result with an average score of 20 or 66.7%.

Abstract

Clean and Healthy Life Behavior  is one of the suitable programs to be applied to the school in realizing healthy cultured schools. Ibu Kartini Vocational High School, Semarang which has a Culinary Arts Program has certainly implemented the Clean And Healthy Life Behavior program in Teaching and Learning Activities (KBM). One of the applications of the Clean And Healthy Life Behavior program in the KBM is in Practice Subject of Culinary Arts Program, which certainly needs to be evaluated. CIPP Evaluation Model is one of the models that can be applied. The CIPP evaluation model emphasizes the aspect of evaluation in terms of context, input, process and product of a program of activities. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of the Clean And Healthy Life Behavior program in the Practice Subject of Culinary Arts Program from the aspect of evaluating context, input, process, and product. The results of the implementation of the Clean And Healthy Life Behavior program are among others applied to: (1) Hygiene and Sanitation Work Areas; (2) Personal Hygiene Food Handlers / Students; and (3) Occupational Safety Health in the Laboratory / Kitchen Environment. The level of achievement in hygiene sanitation in the kitchen of the Culinary Arts Program  Ibu Kartini Vocational High School in Semarang has "Good" criteria with an achievement value of 73.3% and the achievement of facilities and infrastructure supporting health and safety at work in the kitchen of Culinary Arts Program  Ibu Kartini Vocational High School has “Fair” criteria with achievement value of 51.1%.

Abstract

This Research aims to determine the learning effect of motivation, discipline, materials on student learning readiness; to find out learning of motivation, discipline, materials towards the competencies of automotive productive training eye students. The method used is description analysis with linear regression. This analysis is used to determine whether there is an learning effect of motivation, discipline and materials on the competencies of students in automotive productive training eyes with intervening learning readiness. The research subjects were class XI students of SMK Bhakti Praja Batang. Data collection is questionnaire. Descriptive data analysis, validity, normality and regression analysis. The results showed directly that there was a significant effect of learning motivation on student competency, direct significant influence of learning discipline on student competency, direct significant effect of teaching material on student competence, and directly there was a significant effect of motivation on learning readiness, directly there is no significant effect of motivation on learning readiness, direct significant effect of learning readiness on student competence. Indirect effect is mediated by the intervening variable of learning readiness. Independent variables do not affect students' competencies through intervening variables, so that intervening variables are not used as reinforcement between independent and dependent variables.

Abstract

Pelaksanaan pembelajaran yang selama ini hanya sering dilaksanakan didalam kelas dengan sistem pembelajaran teacher centered dengan berbagai macam kompetensi yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa tanpa melihat perkembangan dan kemampuan siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran. Maka diperlukan pembelajaran yang menarik berpusat pada siswa atau student centered sehingga siswa tidak merasa bosan dan jenuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran dalam upaya peningkatan kreativitas siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalan penelitian ini adalah research and development (RD). Subyek uji coba dengan skala terbatas pada 1 kelompok pembelajaran OSBKL. Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa angket pada guru dan siswa, lembar validasi perangkat pembelajaran, lembar observasi sikap, lembar soal kognitif, lembar ketrampilan siswa. Teknik analisis data digunakan pada validasi perangkat pembelajaran (silabus, RPP, Bahan ajar), dan model pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa hasil pre test sebelum diberikan model dengan rata-rata 2,73 dengan ktriteria cukup. Setelah dilaksanakan pembelajaran dengan model terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan dimana rata-rata kelas menjadi 3,57 dengan tingkat ketuntasan klasikal dengan kriteria baik. Pengenalan lingkungan sekolah dengan melihat keunggulan lokal yang ada untuk dijadikan sumber belajar yang nyata kepada peserta didik sehingga peserta didik dapat melestarikan keunggulan lokal daerahnya. Model pembelajaran OSBKL juga dapat dijadikan salah satu alternatif untuk mengurangi tingkat kejenuhan dalam pembelajaran terutama pembelajaran praktik di sekolah menengah kejuruan. Nowadays learning implementation tends to be conducted insidethe class through teacher centered learning activities with a wide range of competencies that must be mastered by the students without seeing the students’ development and learning ability during the learning process Therefore, it is necessary to construct the lessons to be more interactive that implement student-centered activities so that students will not feel bored. The objectives of this study are to analizy effectiveness of outdoor study learning model implementation. This research implemented Research and Development (RD). The try out was conducted in a limited scale of subjects on one learning group. The instrumentsto collect thedata were conducted in the forms of questionnaire for teachers and students, learning device validation sheets, observation sheets of students’ attitudes, cognitive tests, and students’ skills worksheet. Data analysis techniques were used in the validation of the learning device OSBKL (syllabus, lesson plans, teaching materials), and OSBKL learning model. The results showed that the implementation of learning model could improve the students’ achievement. The results of pre-test before implementing learning model showed the average of 2.73 with enough criteria level. After OSBKL learning model implementation, there was a significant increase in which the average grade reached 3.57 with classical completeness level of good criteria. The introduction of the school environment can be conducted byobserving the local excellence as the learning source so that students can preserve their local advantages. OSBKL learning model can also be used as an alternative to reduce the level of students’ saturation during the learning process, especially for learning practice in secondary vocational schools.
The Analysis of Vocational Teacher Readiness at Culinary Education Program in Participating in Online Professional Teacher Education Program

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the readiness of vocational school teacher of culinary program in the implementation of online  - based Professional Teacher Education (PTE); (2) find factors driving and inhibiting the readiness of teachers in the implementation of online – based PTE. This quantitative descriptive study was conducted at SMK N 6 Semarang (Tourism Vocational School) and SMK N 1 Bawen (Agricultural Vocational School) involving 14 productive skill teachers of the Culinary Program. The data were obtained using questionnaires and analyzed descriptively using percentages. The results of the study were: 57% of teachers had very high readiness, 36% were high and only 7% had sufficient readiness. The factors supporting the readiness of productive teacher skill at culinary program during the implementation of online – based PTE are facilities and infrastructure (79%), Knowledge on the field of culinary program (86%), pedagogical competence (79%), personal competence (86%), social competence (86%) and professional competence (93%). Factors inhibiting the readiness of the online – based PPG is the computer literacy (57%) and networking access (64%). It was concluded that teachers have a high readiness in the implementation of online – based PTE. Factors supporting the readiness of the online PTE are infrastructure, the knowledge, pedagogical competence, personal competence, social and professional competence. The inhibiting factor is the ability to operate a computer and access the network.

Abstract

Instrumen penilaian merupakan bagian dari suatu proses penilaian dalam pembelajaran, apa yang hendak diukur dalam pembelajaran terkait dengan ketersediaan alat ukur yang dikembangkan. Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk menganalisis validitas, reliabilitas, dan keefektifan instrumen. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R D). Tahapan pada R D yaitu 1) analisis kebutuhan; 2) rancangan produk; 3) desain dan pengembangan; 4) validasi ahli; 5) revisi produk awal; 6) uji coba terbatas; 7) revisi produk; 8) uji coba diperluas; 9) revisi dan analisis hasil uji coba. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji validitas instrumen menggunakan korelasi product moment, uji reliabilitas instrumen menggunakan koefisien kappa dari Cohen dan uji keefektifan menggunakan analisis Uji normalized-gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil pretest nilainya 79 dan posttest nilainya 83 pada uji coba terbatas, sedangkan pada uji coba diperluas didapatkan hasil tidak jauh berbeda dengan uji coba terbatas yaitu pretest 0,3 dan posttest 0,4. Validitas instrumen sebesar 0,878 yang menunjukkan valid, reliabilitas instrumen sebesar 0.721 yang menunjukan ketegori baik dan keefektifan instrumen terdapat skor 0.3 yang memiliki tingkat efektivitas sedang. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa instrumen penilaian praktik rias pengantin Jogja Paes Ageng baku, valid dan efektif digunakan untuk menilai penilaian praktik sesuai dengan kompetensi mata kuliah. Assessment instrument is part of the assessment process in the learning process. What is to be measured in the learning process is related to the availability of the assessment instrument. The aim of the current research is to analyze validity, reliability, and the instrument effectiveness. This current research employed RD method. The steps of RD method: 1) needs analysis, 2) product design, 3) design and development, 4) expert validation, 5) preliminary product revision, 6) limited testing, 7) product revision, 8) expanded testing, 9) revision and analysis of the testing product. The data analysis technique in the current research employed product moment correlation, kappa coefficient for instrument reliability and normalized-gain test analysis for the effectiveness of instrument. The results of the pretest was 79, the posttest was 83 on limited testing, while the expanded test showed not difference of limited testing 0.3 for pretest, 0.4 for the posttest. Validity of instrument was 0.878 which indicates the instrument developed is valid, reliability of practice instrument was 0.721 which indicates in the good category and effectiveness of instruments was 0.3 that have moderate levels of effectiveness. This suggests that the assessment instrument of bridal Jogja Paes Ageng practice is standardized, valid and effective.
