Abstract

Vocational High School (SMK) is an educational institution that specifically aims to prepare students to be ready for work, either working independently or filling existing job vacancies. Appropriate learning can improve vocational students 'skills and vocational school students' readiness in entrepreneurship. This study aims to 1) produce a Precondition Model for Industrial Work Practices based on project-based learning to improve competency and work readiness of vocational school students in the Dressmaking expertise program. 2) to analyze the feasibility of the Preconditioned Industrial Work Practice Model based on project-based learning to improve the competence and work readiness of the Vocational School students in the Fashion Design expertise program 3) knowing the practicality of the Precondition Model for Industrial Work Practice based on project-based learning to improve competency and job readiness of vocational school students. Dressmaking expertise program Fashion. This type of research is development research (RD) with a development model adapting to ADDIE development. The instruments used in this study were 1) Feasibility Assessment Sheet for the Precondition Model Model for Industrial Work Practice based on project-based learning 2) Practicality questionnaire for the Precondition Model for Industrial Work Practice based on a project-based learning 3) Evaluation sheet for evaluation of the effectiveness of project-based learning based on basic competency analyze the hemispheres in a product. The data analysis used in this study was (1) the scoring category to determine the level of feasibility of the Preconditioned Fieldwork Practices model based on project-based learning to improve the competence and readiness of vocational students in entrepreneurship in the Dressmaking expertise program. (2) to determine the level of practicality of the Preconditioning Practical Fieldwork model based on project-based learning using a Likert scale (3) N-Gain and the N-Gain difference test using the t-test, to determine the effectiveness of the Preconditioned Fieldwork Practices model based on project-based learning to improve the readiness of vocational high school students in entrepreneurship in the Dressmaking expertise program. The results of this study indicate that the assessment of the first validator and the second validator obtained criteria very worthy of use and based on the effectiveness test in the experimental class obtained effective and significant values to increase the readiness of junior high school students in entrepreneurship.

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the results of observations and interviews which found out that 65% of students in Fashion Design did not meet the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) in the subject of Clothing Decoration Making because the media used by the teacher did not motivate students to learn. The purpose of this research study is (1)developing learning media based on Adobe Flash CS6 in the Vocational Theory of Clothing Decoration Making, (2)analyzing the feasibility and practicality of instructional media, (3)analyzing the effectiveness of the use of instructional media. The research development of learning media based on Adobe Flash CS 6 uses the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluations). The data collection tool for the feasibility of instructional media uses expert validation questionnaires namely material experts and media experts. Data on the practicality of the media used an assessment questionnaire by teachers and students. Data on the effectiveness of the media used question instruments. The validity test of the questionnaire instrument used Aiken's V formula, and the question instrument was validated with the product moment correlation formula. The reliability test of the questionnaire instrument used Cohen's Kappa, while the reliability test of the question instrument used the Split-Half technique. The results of eligibility by material experts were known as 91% in the very feasible category and media experts at 81% in the very feasible category. The effectiveness of Adobe Flash CS6 based media using the t test showed that .the significance value was 0,000 0.05. So it can be concluded that there were significant differences. The N-gain test result was 77.9% which is included in the effective category. Based on the results of the analysis of these data, learning media can be used by fashion students at SMK Negeri 1 Sayung as an effective learning media for Vocational Theory Subjects of Clothing Decoration Making.

Abstract

The number unemployment of productive working age from Vocational High Schools (SMK) is in the top rank of 9.27% of 131.55 million people in the workforce. This happens because learning process focuses on teaching hard skills and ignores soft skills so that it causes the low absorption of graduates in the world of work. At the moment the quality of the learning assessment instrument in Vocational Schools is still considered to be invalid so that it has not been able to evaluate aspects that are evaluated in full in relation to soft skills. This study aims to develop 4C assessment instruments in productive learning of graphic design. Research and Development methods are applied in this research to produce assessment products in the form of tests and non-tests. This research produces an assessment instrument in the form of a test used to measure the cognitive domain (knowledge) while the non-test / performance (performance test) is used to measure the affective domain (attitude) and psychomotor (skills). The instrument has: (1) A validity level of 95%; (2) Effectiveness 81%; (3) Consistency level of 0.62; and (4) Reliability Level 0.875. This assessment instrument can be used by teachers in productive learning graphic design so that it can help in the assessment process.

Abstract

Sering mengalami kegagalan dalam Survival Rate (SR) karena kurang terampilnya petani menyebabkan pembenihan tidak maksimal. Untuk menanggulangi perlu adanya kegiatan pelatihan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan model pelatihan pembenihan ikan mas dan perangkat (buku panduan model, modul, lembar penilaian) yang memenuhi kriteria valid, efektif dan praktis. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini mengacu pada penelitian dan pengembangan atau Research And Development (R D). Prosedur penelitian pengembangan mengadopsi langkah-langkah dari sugiyono yang telah dimodifikasi, antara lain : (1) potensi dan masalah (2) pengumpulan data (3) desain model pelatihan (4) validasi model pelatihan (5) revisi model pelatihan (6) uji coba terbatas model pelatihan (7) model akhir. Hasil penelitian model pelatihan dinyatakan sangat valid karena telah di uji oleh mengunakan teknik Delphi. Uji efektivitas model  mengunakan uji t, hasil uji pretest dan posttest seluruh peserta meningkat sehingga dapat di terapkan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap petani. Program pelatihan dianggap praktis memunculkan reaksi positif pada petani dengan ketertarikan terhadap materi dan media, fasilitator. Dari penelitian ini didapatkan model pelatihan pembenihan ikan yang valid, efektif dan praktis. Manfaat dari penelitian ini model pelatihan pembenihan ikan mas dapat digunakan oleh penyuluh dan Sekolah Menengah Keatas (SMK) jurusan agribisnis Perikanan dapat digunakan sebagai panduan pembelajaran budidaya ikan mas. The hatching is not maximum mostly cause of failed on Survival Rate (SR) doe to low skill of farmers. To overcome the problem is needed the training. The study aims to make a model of training goldfish breeding and valid, effective and praticial tools (guidebook model, module, assessment sheets). The study refers to Research and Development (RD) approach. The procedure of research adopted Sugiyono that has been modifed: (1) potential and problem (2) data collection (3) design of training model (4) validation of training model (5) revision of training model (6) limited test of training model (7) final model. The model of training was valid because it has been tested by Delphi technique. For the test of effectiveness model used t-test, the results of pretest and posttest shown that all participants were increased so it can be applied to improve knowledge, skill and attitude of farmers. The training program was considered to practical because farmers interested to the material, media and facilitator. The result reveals that model of training carp breeding is valid, effective and practical. The benefits of this research are the model of training goldfish breeding can use by facilitator and Vocational High School (SMK) major fishery agribusiness and as learning guide to raising the carp.

Abstract

The development of technology in the world of education is very helpful, especially in improving the quality of learning. This requires the world of education to adapt it. The characteristics of students in the 21st century as the digital generation make teachers have to be able to understand them. Thus, the teachers need to provide learning media that is adaptable to technological developments. Specifically, this research aims to: Develop a module on the subject of Fashion Design; investigate the feasibility of the module on the subject of Fashion Drawing; and find the increase of students’ creativity in Digital Fashion Design subject for Grade XI students by using the Ibis Paint X media. Research on Development of learning media in the form of this module uses the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The data analysis in this study consisted of: Determining the feasibility of the module; Determining the practicality of the module; and Determining the level of students’ creativity. The feasibility test of the module resulted a very feasible category and the practicality test of the module showed a very practical category. The module that was developed was also tested for its effectiveness, it had an N-Gain value of 78, which means that the module was effective and the result of the students’ creativity level was in the creative category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the module developed in this research is very feasible, very practical and creative to be used in Digital Fashion Design learning for vocational students of Fashion Design.
Evaluation of Competency Test and Work Competency Certification Implementations at Professional Certification Institute - First Party (LSP P1)

Abstract

The challenge of vocational education is to produce competent and competitive prospective workers. Competency certification is a strategic step to improve the quality of Vocational High School graduates. For Vocational High School LSP P1 implementing the work competency certification, its function is not optimal and its independence is questionable. Vocational High School LSP P1  is only 4% compared to the number of Vocational High Schools and the graduates. Evaluation for Vocational High School LSP P1 was conducted to find out how the implementation of competency tests and work competency certification. This research aims to evaluate the implementation of competency test and work competency certification at LSP P1, in terms of the component variables of Context, Input, Process, and Product. This research is a descriptive evaluative research using the CIPP evaluation model approach. The research population was Vocational High School LSP P1 assessors from 9 Vocational High Schools in Pekalongan Regency and its surroundings. The sample was the research population who served as competency test assessors at LSP P1. Data collection methods in this research were questionnaire, interview, and document study. The content validity testing was by expert judgment, while the construct validity testing was by correlation analysis. The reliability test used Alpha Cronbach. The data analysis technique was quantitative descriptive analysis. Furthermore, it was analyzed by changing the scores for the context, input, process, and product components into a T-Score and then categorized them by the Glickman Quadrant. The research results were as follows; (1) in the context component, the percentage was F + = 66% and F - = 34% meaning that the implementation of competency test in terms of context variables is categorized as effective, (2) for the input component, the percentage was F + = 61% and F - = 39%, indicating that the implementation of competency test in terms of input variable is categorized as effective, (3) for the process component, the percentage was F + = 66% and F - = 34%, meaning that the implementation of competency test in terms of process variable is categorized as effective, (4) for the product component, the percentage was F + = 59% and F - = 41%, indicating that the implementation of competency test in terms of the product variable is categorized as effective, (5) T-score analysis of the four CIPP components, namely context, input, process, and product were (+ + + +) in the criteria of the Glickman Quadrant that were included in quadrant I, meaning that evaluation of the implementation of competency tests and work competency certification at LSP P1 in terms of all CIPP components is in the very effective or excellent category.
‘Direct Training’ Practical Learning Model on the Teaching Material Diesel Fuel Injection System

Abstract

This research and development study developed a direct training of practical learning model on the teaching material diesel fuel injection system. It aims to determine the validity, practicity and effectiveness of the practical learning model on the teaching material diesel fuel injection system. The study employed research and development (R D) method with before after without pretest and posttest control design. This study adopted three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. The results showed that the direct training of practical learning model was valid. The validity was shown by the average score of the 1st expert on the second cycle of 3.77 and the 2nd expert on the second cycle of 3.46 with a highly valid category and highly feasible to use. The results of the practicity questionnaire given to 20 students and 2 teachers shown as very practice with the final score 86.60. In addition, the assessment of learning effectiveness was performed using T- Test with a significance level of 95%. The result of paired samples T – Test showed the probability value = 0,000  0,05 and the average value of gain test = 0, 67 indicating an increase in the medium category. It can be concluded that the direct training of practical learning model was proven able to improve the students skills on diesel fuel injection system.

Abstract

Unemployment of graduates of Automotive Engineering expertise program of Vocational High School (SMK) can be overcome with entrepreneurship. The obstacle is that students are not ready to become entrepreneurs. Learning process at school needs to be analyzed to find new learning models that enhance students' entrepreneurship skills which is in accordance with the expertise program. This study aims to analyze the factual conditions of productive learning of motorcycle tune-up competence and entrepreneurial learning in SMK, to analyze conceptual models developed, to determine hypothetical models, to analyze student learning outcomes using hypothetical models, and to determine the final model of learning. The method used in this research is research and development, carried out by conducting preliminary studies, model development, product testing, and final model determination. The result shows that factually productive learning of motorcycle tune-up competence with entrepreneurship lesson are separated. The conceptual model designed using the syntax of project-based learning model has entrepreneurship approach in productive learning, but still requires improvement. After the improvement, there comes a hypothetical model with the principle of integrating productive learning with entrepreneurial activity, and the learning is oriented towards a modified project-based learning model. The model is well implemented because the experimental class’ learning result is better than the control class’ learnng result. The value of technical skill and entrepreneur skills of experimental class students increased significantly, thus the final model of learning used hypothetical model with the learning model name is PjBL In Entre (Project-Based Learning Integrated with Entrepreneurship).

Abstract

Early learning about the introduction of batik to students is very appropriate that batik is not forgotten. Learning the making of basic batik motifs in vocational school (SMK) students is a form of batik conservative activity for children. Learning in vocational students about making digital-based batik basic motifs is very appropriate because it is to equip additional hard skills when they graduate as one of the opportunities to work and become entrepreneurs skills. Learning models are needed in a lesson so that goals can be achieved. The appropriate learning model and in accordance with the characteristics of vocational or vocational education, namely PjBL. This model can provide learners with a learning experience in producing a work. In addition, as a learning support, a learning media is needed, the media used is the CorelDraw graphic design application software, which is a computer application software that can be used as a learning medium in making digital-based batik motifs. SMK students can create various types of basic batik motifs using this application software. The tools or menus contained in the CorelDraw graphic design application software are able to assist students in making basic designs of batik motifs. The results showed the effectiveness of the use of graphic design application software CorelDraw in the basic learning of graphic design class ten RPL expertise competency in making digital-based batik basic motifs using the PjBL model of 81.09%.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a website of Master Study Programs in Vocational Education of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). This research used Research and Development methods, and website development design using the Waterfall method. The subjects of the study are students, alumni managers of the Master Study Program at UNNES vocational education. The object of this study is the website of the UNNES Vocational Education Graduate Study Program. The sample of the research subjects was taken purposively because this research focused more on the research objectives, the website applied in this Study Program. The development of this website was tested by validators of web experts, substance experts, and user validators. The test results from the validator are as follows: (1) the test results of web experts got an average percentage of 90% or can be considered very feasible; (2) the results of testing by a substance expert got an average of 88% (very feasible); (3) the test results by the user got an average of 90% or very good. This study program information website was also tested using the blackbox method which resulted in the average website running well in suitted with the results expected. The reliability of the website was tested using loadimpact, tools for stress testing using 50 virtual users for 5 minutes, the results of which failed rate 0. This study produced a web with broadcast message feature, responsive website theme. The final results of research on website development are categorized as very feasible to be applied.
