The journal embraces the broad range of settings and ways in which vocational and professional learning takes place and, hence, is not restricted by institutional boundaries or structures in relation to national systems of education and training. It is interested in the study of curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment, as well as economic, cultural and political aspects related to the role of vocational and professional education and training in society.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran program produktif TKR dilihat dari sudut evaluasi konteks, input, proses dan produk.Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian evaluatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Model evaluasi yang digunakan adalah model CIPP (Konteks, Input, Proses, dan Produk). Sumber data adalah Kepala Sekolah, Waka Kurikulum, Waka Sarpras, Guru mata pelajaran produktif TKR, dan peserta didik kelas XI program keahlian Teknik Kendaraan Ringan (TKR) dan dokumen-dokumen pembelajaran. Pengupulan data menggunakan angket, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif persentase.Hasil penelitian adalahevaluasi terhadap aspek konteks (context) termasuk baik (86,12%), evaluasi terhadap aspek masukan (input) termasuk baik (87,54%), evaluasi terhadap aspek proses (process) termasuk baik (78,69%), dan evaluasi terhadap aspek produk (product) termasuk (88,44%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pelaksanaan pembelajaran produktif Teknik Kendaraan Ringan termasuk baik dengan rata-rata 85,19%. This study aims to determine the extent of the implementation of learning programs TKR productive from the standpoint of context evaluation, input evaluation, process evaluation and product evaluation. This research is a descriptive evaluative research with qualitative and quantitative approaches. Evaluation model used is the model CIPP (Context, Input, Process, and Product). The data source is the Principal, Curriculum Waka, Waka Sarpras, Master TKR productive subjects, and students of class XI Light Vehicle Engineering program membership (TKR) and documents of learning. Pengupulan data using questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used in this research is descriptive analysis percentage. Results of the study is the evaluation of aspects of the context (context) includes both (86.12%), evaluation of the aspects of inputs (input) includes both (87.54%), evaluation of the aspects of the process (process) includes both (78.69%) and evaluation of the aspects of the product (product) including (88.44%). The results showed the implementation of learning productive Light Vehicle Engineering including well with an average of 85.19%.
Developing Fashion Design Vocational Career Guidance Module

Abstract

This research was conducted with the main problem, namely the lack of resources that can be used by productive teachers in Vocational High Schools (SMK) in supporting industrial career path learning. Teaching materials that can be used as a provision to prepare students to enter the workplace, especially the fashion study program. This research aims to produce a feasible, practical, and effective module. In this research method, the RD, the chosen design is ADDIE which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The unit of analysis of this research is the fashion design vocational career guidance module. The instruments used in this study are (1) module assessment sheets; (2) questionnaires; and (3) and a questionnaire. The data analysis used in this study consisted of: (1) categories to determine the feasibility level of the module; (2) Guttman's categorization for the practicality of the module, using the coefficients Kr and Ks; and (3) n gain test using t test, for module effectiveness. The results of the module feasibility test obtained a score of 4,71% with a very feasible category, the practicality of the module is 88% with very practical criteria, and the effectiveness of the module obtained an N-Gain score of 82.37%. It can be concluded that the module is effectively used as vocational teaching materials. Previous research is developing a printed career material module in a broad scope and it is necessary to have a career focus in a particular field. In this study, the module focuses on a career in fashion that is feasible, practical, and effectively used by productive students and teachers in learning industrial career paths.

Abstract

Woman Muslim (Muslimah) outfit had became trend or been a part of fashion blooming nowdays. The increase of fashion industry has positive impact for Indonesian economic condition. Fashion education and training did not have learning module yet, which is fit with National Worker Competency Standard (SKKNI) for muslimah fashion design. The purpose of this research is to develop muslimah outfit learning module based on National Worker Competency Standard. Research and development method is used for developing learning module, while expert validation technique is used for validating the module, and practition respondent is used for validating the suitable of the module. The developed learning module shows its validity observed on feasibility of content 3.47; feasibility of presentation 3.49; contextual value 3.38, feasibility of graphic 3.46; feasibility of language 3.53. The overall number 17.32 with an average 3.46 with the result that learning module is very valid. The result of data analysis collected from 10 respondents shows that this learning module strongly ready to use observed by content, language and anxiety. The conclution of this research are muslimah outfit learning module based on National Worker Competency Standard declared valid and can be used for school learning as well as training. Learning method with scientific approach involve process competency such as observe, classify, measure, predict, explain, and conclude. Learning module gives alternative competency based media to develop fashion word.

Abstract

Teaching Factory program in the field of motorcycle service which is developed in SMK Bina Utama Kendal is quite well. However, it does not train students to gain practical experience in applying entrepreneurship. Students have not been involved in the planning, organizing, monitoring, and evaluating stages in the teaching factory program. This research aims to develop the management model of teaching factory programs that increasing student entrepreneurship in the field of motorcycle engineering and business competence.  This research use RD methodology. The research procedure consists of (1) Introduction, (2) Developing Model, (3) Testing Model. The result of the study shows the management's last model in teaching factory program is valid, effective, and easy to use. It can be used to develop student entrepreneurship based on significant results between pretest and post-test. The model which is developed in this research use entrepreneur real concept by asking students directly and giving responsibility to start from planning, organizing, conducting, evaluating in teaching factory management. This model develops students entrepreneurship such as discipline, hard work, creativity, a sense of collaboration, honest, and goal-oriented. Furthermore, it increases student's knowledge and ability in the field of motorcycle engineering.

Abstract

Computer Aided Design (CAD) learning model in the Civil Engineering Vocational Education program in Universitas Negeri Semarang, especially 2-dimensional modeling, continues to be developed so that learning outcomes are accepted by the standards the business / construction services industry. Development of learning outcomes is inseparable from efforts to develop learning model that is used during the learning process. The development of learning models in this study focused on the development of learning methods, learning materials and CAD learning evaluation techniques. This study used the research and development using the Dick and Carrey design. The research sample was 34 students who took Computer Graphic course. The results showed that the three aspects: the development of methods, the development of teaching materials and materials and the development of evaluation techniques were categorized as excellent and very excellent. The CAD learning method was very suitable to be developed through conceptual learning methods, direct practice learning and case study learning. The use of this method was based on the needs faced in the classroom (situational). This means that the use of this method could be used at once, or varied according to the condition in the class. The use of learning equipment is one of the keys for successful learning development. The learning equipment developed in this study included the use of hand-outs, modules and supplements. The use of all three was very successful to support optimal learning outcomes. The use of all three was also aimed to facilitate the diverse learning needs of students. The development of evaluation techniques in learning included three domains: cognitive, psychomotor and affective domain. The cognitive domain was divided into two aspects: construction knowledge and the use of software. The development of evaluation techniques showed that the ability of students in each domain was in the excellent and very excellent category.

Abstract

Pengembangan model uji kompetensi pedagogik yang bersifat spesifik sangat diperlukan guna menghasilkan model uji kompetensi yang tepat  karena karakteristik pedagogik antar mata pelajaran berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan  model Uji Kompetensi Pedagogik Tata Boga pada Pendidikan Profesi Guru (PPG) Program keahlian Kuliner. Pengembangan model Uji Pedaboga P2M  ini menggunakan prosedur pengembangan dari Plomp (1997)  yaitu terdiri (1) fase investigasi awal; (2) fase desain; (3) fase realisasi; (4) fase uji coba, dan revisi. Uji validitas dilakukan oleh 2 orang ahli yang menilai perangkat dan instrumen pembelajaran/pelatihan dan uji. Tingkat kepakaran antar penilai terhadap hasil penilaiannya dianalisis dengan statistik Coefficient Cohen’s kappa dan percentage of agreement. Subjek penelitiannya adalah mahasiswa jurusan Pendidikan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (Tata Boga).  Hasil penelitiannya adalah: (1) model Uji Pedaboga P2M  memiliki kriteria keefektifan rata-rata 92%, kepraktisan 87%, dan keterlaksanaan 86%. (2) perangkat uji kompetensi seperti modul pembelajaran/pelatihan dan uji dengan kriteria sangat baik (rata-rata 3,73), lembaran cek kemampuan dan rubrik penilaian (justifikasi) peserta diklat/uji dengan kriteria sangat baik (rata-rata 3,62). Model Uji Pedaboga P2M dapat  dijadikan acuan pada  kegiatan uji kompetensi pedagogik Pendidikan Profesi Guru (PPG) yang akan datang sehingga penilaian uji Kompetensi lebih spesifik. Specific development of pedagogic competence test model is highly necessary to generate appropriate competence models due to pedagogic difference between subjects. This research aimed to develop Culinary Art (food processing and presentation) Pedagogic Competence Test model on Teacher Profession Education (PPG) of Culinary Expertise Program. This P2M Pedaboga Test utilized Plomp (1997) development procedures that comprised of (1) initial investigation phase; (2) design phase; (3) realization phase; (4) testing phase, and revision. Validity test carried out by two experts who assessed the devices and instruments of learning/training and test.  Expertise level between the assessors against their assessment were analyzed analyzed using Cohen’s Kappa Coefficient and percentage of agreement statistic. Subjects were Family Welfare (Culinary Art) Education department students. Research result revealed that: (1) Pedaboga P2M test had 92% averageof  effectiveness, 87% of practicality, and 86% of implementation criteria; (2) competency test devices such as learning/training and test module had excellent criteria (3.73 in average), skill check sheets and assessment rubric (justification) of training/test participants had excellent criteria (3.62 in average). Pedaboga P2M Test model could be utilized as reference for future pedagogic competence test activity of Teacher Profession Education for more specific Competence test assessment.

Abstract

The learning media used by teachers during online learning are not in accordance with the needs of students, so it is hard for them to understand the material and it makes learning outcomes are not optimal. Therefore, the students of class XII majoring in Culinary Arts at State Vocational High School 1 Jambu need a learning media that can be used independently and can improve the students’ learning outcomes. This study aimed to develop an android-based e-module for pastry bakery product learning, which was analyzed in terms of the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of the e-module.The research method used was RD with the ADDIE model. The data collection technique used was a feasibility test questionnaire by media and content experts, a practicality test questionnaire by users, and a pre-test and post-test by students. The data analysis was the mean, reproducibility coefficient (Rc) and the scalability coefficient (Sc), N-Gain difference test and t-test.The results showed that the pastry bakery e-module was feasible, practical, effective and significant in improving student learning outcomes, especially the results of croissant learning material.The conclusion of this study is the use of e-module in teaching pastry bakery product can improve students’ learning outcomes especially for croissant results. The novelty of this study is the development of an e-module on pastry bakery subjects based on an android application.

Abstract

Covid 19 pandemic influenced the learning process and brought traditional classes to online classes. This condition made the XI grade of Computer Networking students got difficulty in the examination at school.  The students were not ready because of the absence of learning media that provided students with the material. The current research aimed to develop and analyse the feasibility, practicality, and also effectiveness of information systems for XI-grade students of Computer Engineering and Networking. The researcher adopted RnD with the ADDIE approach, and twenty students became the participants of the research. Media experts and material experts were involved in examining the product. An information system was implemented in the first group of the networking installation subject.    The data collection used need analysis, the feasible test questionnaire of information system, pre-test, and post-test. The researcher applied mean, percentage descriptive analysis, Paired sample t-Test, and N-Gain as data analysis of the research.  The result showed 1) the feasible test of information system achieved 4,79 for the media, or it was categorized as very feasible. Furthermore, the product gained 4,71 for the material, or it said very feasibly. 2) The practicality of the information system showed an overall average score was 97% of the practicality criteria. 3) Information system media was declared effective in increasing students’ competency with an average N-gain score achieved 73% or stated as quite effective.

Abstract

Vocational High School is an institution that prepares skilled workers. The National Education System Law states that competency certificates are given by education and training institutions to participants as an acknowledgment of their competence, administered by an accredited education unit or certification institution. The selection of this scheme can increase the graduate competency significantly. The present study aims at simplifying and improving graduate competency. The instrument used in the present study is an assessment sheet on the website media of the Level II Certification scheme from 7 clusters to 40 units; and a questionnaire to measure the graduate competence of grade XII TKR students at SMK Negeri 1 Semarang. The data analysis used in this research is categorical to determine the level of feasibility of the website media for the Level II Certification scheme from 7 clusters to 40 units; and N-Gain and the different N-Gain test using the t-test, to determine the effectiveness of the website media for the Level II Certification scheme from 7 clusters to 40 units on the graduate competency. Based on the feasibility test and the effectiveness test according to the responses given by the experts, the criteria for the responses were very feasible. From the effectiveness test in the experimental class, the module obtained quite effective and significant criteria used by students to improve the graduate competence.
Harmonizing PKL Program with Level II KKNI Through the Use of Electronic Journal

Abstract

The implementation of Field Work Practice (PKL) has experienced several problems, one of the problems is that students experience confusion when filling out existing activity journals. To overcome these problems, electronic journals for PKL in accordance with the level 2 Indonesian National Qualification Framework (KKNI) are proposed. This study aims to develop electronic journals that are in accordance with level 2 KKNI. The research method used is the ADDIE, which consists of five stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Based on the feasibility test, effectiveness test of the developed PKL electronic journal, and the responses given by media experts and material experts, the criteria for the responses were very feasible. From the practicality test, the criteria were very practical. From the effectiveness test in the experimental class, the criteria were quite effective and significantly used by students to improve the competence of graduates of the light vehicle engineering study program. The conclusion of this study is that electronic journals are effective in improving the graduate competence. The novelty of this research is that it is electronic based and refers to the level 2 KKNI.
