Abstract

Measuring student discipline can be done by recording their attendance. Attendance is crucial evidence of participation in every institutional reporting activity. In education, attendance is used to record who is present in class. However, traditional attendance systems that call students' names one by one face various challenges, such as taking a long time to record data, the potential for damage to attendance records, and lack of accuracy. This research focuses on implementing an online attendance system based on the Internet of Things by utilizing the ESP8266 microcontroller and RFID student card scanner at SMP Negeri 1 Carenang. This system is designed to address the limitations of manual attendance systems that are inefficient and prone to errors. By using the ESP8266 microcontroller as the data processing center, the RFID MFRC522 sensor to read student identity cards, and the MySQL database to store attendance data, this system allows real-time monitoring of student attendance through a website accessible to teachers and parents. The implementation of this IoT based online attendance system is expected to improve student discipline and motivation, as well as facilitate teachers in accurately and effectively monitoring student attendance.

Abstract

The development of information technology encourages educational institutions to adopt digital systems to improve service efficiency, including in library management. SMK Wiyata Satya Jakarta still uses a manual system for the process of borrowing and returning books, member data collection, searching collections, and preparing reports, which causes inefficiency and is prone to errors. The purpose of this study is to analyze and design a web-based library information system that can overcome these problems and improve service effectiveness. This study uses the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) waterfall model, through the stages of planning, analysis, design, implementation, and testing. The resulting system has features such as member data management, book catalogs, automatic borrowing and returning processes, fine calculations, and structured report generation. The implementation results show that the system is able to speed up the service process and minimize recording errors. The conclusion of this study is that the web-based library information system can improve operational efficiency, data accuracy, and service quality at the SMK Wiyata Satya Jakarta library.

Abstract

Many retail stores still face challenges in data management, services, and risk control, impacting operational effectiveness and competitiveness. The COBIT 5 framework offers a comprehensive approach to assessing, controlling, and improving information technology governance to align with business objectives. The application of COBIT 5 in the retail sector is relatively rare, despite the fact that this sector has different operational dynamics than other industries. Therefore, this study focuses on the analysis and evaluation of retail management using the COBIT 5 framework to identify the level of governance maturity and provide applicable improvement recommendations. The research method stages include: (a) literature review on COBIT 5 and IT governance practices in the retail industry; (b) identification of COBIT 5 domains relevant to the retail management context; (c) data collection through interviews, observations, and questionnaires with retail management and staff; (d) maturity level analysis based on the COBIT 5 framework; and (e) preparation of recommendations for improving retail management based on IT governance. The retail management evaluation in this study uses the COBIT 5 framework that focuses on the Align, Plan, and Organize (APO) domains, namely APO11 Manage Quality and APO12 Manage Risk. The assessment of the APO11 and APO12 capability levels was conducted to evaluate the implementation of quality management in the division. The results of the quality management measurement in this division reached level 2 (Manage Processes). Recommendations have been compiled that can be implemented by this division so that the APO11 and APO12 capability levels reach the desired level, namely level 3 (defined process), so that they can support the company's business processes in terms of information technology.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and implement an academic chatbot based on Flowise and Google Generative AI (Gemini 1.5 Flash) as an information service platform for thesis-related inquiries at the Faculty of Technology, ISTEK Widuri. Previously, academic information services were conducted manually, leading to issues such as delayed responses, high administrative workloads, and inconsistent information. The chatbot was developed using the Waterfall system development model, consisting of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and user evaluation stages. The system integrates Flowise AI for building interactive conversation flows and Gemini 1.5 Flash as a Large Language Model (LLM) to generate contextual and relevant responses. Black box testing results show that all chatbot functions operated as intended, providing accurate and responsive answers. User evaluations revealed improved information accessibility, faster response times, and higher satisfaction with academic services. The results demonstrate that integrating Flowise and LLM technologies effectively enhances academic service efficiency and can serve as a reference for implementing AI-based systems in higher education institutions.

Abstract

The advancement of mobile technology provides opportunities for digital transformation in small-scale property businesses, including boarding house (kost) management. This research focuses on developing a Mobile-Based Reminder Online Payment Application for Kost using the Mobile Application Development Life Cycle (MADLC) method. The application is designed to automate payment processes through a virtual account system and provide real-time reminder notifications for both tenants and owners.The development stages included requirement identification, system design using UML diagrams, database structuring with MySQL, and interface implementation. The testing process employed User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate system functionality and user satisfaction. The results show that users successfully received automatic payment notifications based on the configured due dates, and all online payment transactions were accurately recorded in the system database without errors. This study concludes that the MADLC approach effectively supports the structured development of mobile applications for digital payment and reminder management in boarding houses. The UAT results confirm that the application meets user expectations in terms of functionality, ease of use, and transaction accuracy.

Abstract

The increasing demand for internet access in the workplace requires efficient bandwidth management to maintain network quality. This study aims to improve the Quality of Service (QoS) at the LPP RRI News Center by implementing the Hierarchical Token Bucket (HTB) method on a MikroTik Router. The research applies the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) approach, consisting of analysis, design, implementation, simulation, and monitoring stages. The results show that HTB implementation significantly enhances network performance, increasing throughput from 870–1120 Kbps to 1,489–2,615 Kbps, while reducing delay and jitter to below 5 ms, and lowering packet loss from 3–7% to 0%. The HTB method also ensures fair bandwidth allocation among divisions, maintains connection stability during peak hours, and supports smoother broadcasting and news distribution processes. Therefore, HTB proves to be an effective method for optimizing bandwidth management and is recommended for broader implementation across LPP RRI’s network infrastructure.

Abstract

Corrupt behaviour by government officials often occurs and becomes a problem that can disturb the public and threaten the integrity of the government system. Social media has become an important means for the public to voice their opinions and sentiments on social issues, including corrupt behaviour by government officials. This study aims to analyze the corrupt behaviour of government officials based on public sentiment on social media using the Naïve Bayes Classifier method. Data was obtained from Twitter with keywords closely related to corruption cases involving government officials, data obtained in a certain period. The Naïve Bayes Classifier method was applied to classify tweets related to corrupt behaviour by government officials to later be categorized into positive sentiment, and negative sentiment. The results of this study conclude that the TF-IDF Weighting Process, 3 words are very dominant and often appear in public sentiments, namely the words "Corruption", "Official" and the word "Tax". This shows that the public is very angry and disappointed, and this results in a very low level of trust in corrupt behaviour carried out by government officials. Especially those carried out by tax officials

Abstract

Facial skin type determination is a critical aspect in the development of digital skincare recommendation systems and technology-based dermatological services. However, skin identification methods that rely on manual assessment still present several limitations, as they are subjective, time-consuming, and highly dependent on the observer’s expertise. To address these issues, this study proposes an automated approach for facial skin type classification using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) with a transfer learning scheme. Three computationally efficient CNN architectures MobileNet, MobileNetV2, and MobileNetV3-Large were employed and evaluated comparatively. This study utilized a dataset consisting of 2,250 facial images categorized into five skin types, namely Combination, Dry, Normal, Oily, and Sensitive. The dataset was divided into 1,800 images for training, 225 images for validation, and 225 images for testing to ensure objective performance evaluation. All images were normalized and resized to 224 × 224 pixels prior to model processing. Model training was conducted using two epoch configurations, specifically 5, 10, 20, 30, 50 and 100 epochs, to examine the effect of training duration on classification performance. The experimental results indicate that increasing the number of training epochs has a positive impact on the accuracy of all evaluated models. Among the three architectures, MobileNetV3-Large achieved the best performance, attaining a test accuracy of 100% at 100 epochs and demonstrating superior generalization capability, particularly in distinguishing skin types with similar visual characteristics, such as Sensitive and Combination. These findings confirm that appropriate CNN architecture selection and training configuration play a crucial role in enhancing facial skin type classification performance and highlight the potential applicability of the proposed approach in mobile-based applications.

Abstract

This study proposes and implements an automatic vehicle door locking system based on Raspberry Pi 5 integrated with a real-time blind spot vehicle detection mechanism using a single vision camera without additional sensors such as radar or ultrasonic modules. The system was developed to reduce the risk of dooring accidents caused by passengers opening vehicle doors without observing approaching vehicles from the rear blind spot area. Digital image processing and OpenCV-based object detection techniques were utilized to identify approaching vehicles in real time. When a vehicle is detected within the predefined danger zone, the system automatically activates the door lock actuator through a relay module and simultaneously provides audio-visual warnings via a speaker and TFT display. Experimental evaluations were conducted under daytime and nighttime conditions with vehicle speeds ranging from 10 to 50 km/h, where each scenario was repeated ten times. The proposed system achieved an average response time of 0.198 seconds during daytime operation and 0.23 seconds at night. Distance estimation testing produced an average accuracy of 99.3% with a mean error rate of only 0.7%. In addition, the door lock actuator and warning system achieved a 100% operational success rate across all experimental trials. The results demonstrate that the proposed OpenCV-based safety system is capable of performing reliable real-time vehicle detection and preventive automatic door locking, making it a promising low-cost solution for enhancing passenger safety and reducing blind-spot-related traffic accidents.

Abstract

PT. Berca Hardayaperkasa is a company operating in the field of information technology and on-site engineer services, where field activity reporting is conducted routinely. Previously, the reporting process relied on Google Forms, which was not integrated with the company’s internal system. The existing system did not support user authentication, barcode-based device identification, automatic ticket generation, or photo documentation upload.This condition resulted in inefficient reporting processes, a high risk of data entry errors, difficulties in data tracking, and limited monitoring capabilities for administrators and supervisors. This study aims to design and implement a mobile and web-based Activity Report Information System for On-Site Engineers integrated with a barcode scanner feature. The development method used is the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which includes the stages of planning, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The mobile application was developed using Android Studio with the Java programming language, while the backend and admin dashboard were built using PHP with a REST API architecture. The system utilizes a MySQL database as an integrated centralized data storage solution. The implementation results indicate that the system improves the efficiency and accuracy of engineer activity reporting. The barcode/QR code scanning feature successfully reduces device data input errors, while the integration of engineer, entity, and work area data makes the reporting process more structured. The admin dashboard also facilitates real-time and transparent report monitoring. Based on Black Box testing, all major system features function according to the specified functional requirements. Therefore, the system effectively replaces the previous manual reporting process with a faster, more integrated, and well-documented solution.
