Abstract

The advancement of technology in the field of Virtual Reality (VR) offers new opportunities for developing more interactive and immersive learning media. One of the main challenges in online learning is the low level of student engagement in the learning process, as well as the tendency for instructional methods to remain passive. Recognizing this gap and the need for a new technological approach that can encourage active participation, this study aims to develop a VR-based learning application called “FirstMetaClass”. This application is designed to simulate a virtual classroom environment to enhance students’ learning experiences. The application development process follows the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method. The quality of the user experience was evaluated using the Extended User Experience Questionnaire (EUQ). The respondents consisted of 42 university students who participated in the application trial and completed the evaluation questionnaire. The results of the study show that all EUQ dimensions achieved an average score above 4.0 on a 1–5 scale. These findings confirm that the “FirstMetaClass” application successfully provides a positive, engaging, and user-friendly learning experience, while creating a classroom atmosphere that closely resembles the real world and fosters a sense of presence for users.

Abstract

Android-based learning media is an essential tool in supporting the learning process, especially for elementary school students. One of the main problems in learning at this level is the lack of visualization during the delivery of learning materials, which often results in decreased interest and increased boredom among students. The use of “calistung” (reading, writing, and arithmetic) learning media can help make the learning process more engaging and interactive. This media is equipped with features such as images, text, audio, and animations that enhance students’ interest and facilitate a better understanding of the subject matter. In addition, it can reduce boredom during teaching and learning activities. The development of this Android-based calistung learning media utilizes the MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle) approach, which has proven to be effective. This method allows students to continue learning without feeling bored until they fully understand the material. Overall, the implementation of Android-based calistung learning media provides significant benefits for elementary school students. It is expected to become an alternative learning option that makes the learning experience more interactive and enjoyable.

Abstract

The Music Student Activity Unit (UKM) is one of the UKM that accommodates student organizations in universities to hone the skills of members and administrators in channeling the talents and interests of students in the field of music arts, ranging from traditional music to modern music to be staged in order to preserve culture through certain events both held at LIA University and off-campus events. This study discusses the application used for reporting music UKM activities at LIA University using the Waterfall model. The purpose of creating this application is to make it easier to report on music UKM activities, especially at LIA University. In addition, this application can also accelerate decision-making in the organization of the music UKM. The waterfall model in this study was chosen because it can adapt to the changing needs of music UKM users. The process of creating this application is made through several stages, namely: system needs analysis, design, implementation/coding, testing, evaluation. The results of this study are in the form of an application with features for reporting activities, as well as a dashboard of music UKM activity reports. Application trials show that users find it easier to report and access information on activities carried out by music UKM administrators. Users consisting of administrators and members of music UKM. This trial aims to get feedback on the functionality and interface of the app. The test results show that: 95% of users feel that the app is easy to use and the interface is intuitive. 90% of users stated that the activity reporting feature is very helpful in documenting music UKM activity reports, especially at LIA University. 85% of users appreciate the notification feature that helps them remember reporting deadlines. However, some users also provided feedback for improvements, including: Added a feature to upload photos of activities. Increased app access speed during peak hours. This research is expected to make a positive contribution to the development of applications within LIA University, especially music UKM.

Abstract

The internet has become a crucial need in modern society, including in rural areas such as Wonokarto. PT. Yasmin Amanah Media, as a local internet service provider, offers a variety of internet packages to meet customer needs. However, the wide range of options often leads to confusion in selecting the most suitable package. This research aims to design a WiFi internet package recommendation system based on Knowledge-Based Recommendation (KBR) that can provide personalized suggestions based on user preferences. The system development method used is the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), which consists of planning, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance phases. This study focuses on the system design stage in the form of a web-based application. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and literature study. The designed recommendation system utilizes constraint-based techniques to match user requirement attributes with the characteristics of available internet packages. The results show that the knowledge-based recommendation approach is effective in providing internet package selection suggestions, especially for new users who have no previous interaction history. This system is expected to improve customer satisfaction, internet usage efficiency, and loyalty to the services of PT. Yasmin Amanah Media.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought transformative impacts across various sectors but simultaneously raises multidimensional challenges, particularly regarding ethics and infrastructure governance. This study aims to analyze AI governance through a system paradigm approach by using the operating system (OS) as an analytical analogy. The research employs a qualitative method through a literature study of reputable journals and academic databases, focusing on AI ethics, system paradigms, and infrastructure governance. Findings indicate that the system paradigm provides a holistic framework to integrate ethical principles, regulatory mechanisms, and technical functions within AI ecosystems. The OS analogy highlights governance components such as ethical kernels, access control, and security layers as integral to ensuring transparency, accountability, and fairness. The study concludes that responsible AI governance requires a systemic, adaptive, and sustainability-oriented approach, bridging technological innovation with social and ethical values.

Abstract

Scholarships are educational financial aids granted to students based on specific criteria such as economic background, academic achievement, or a combination of both. These programs play a crucial role in preventing school dropouts and promoting educational equity and access, especially for junior high school students from underprivileged families. This study aims to develop a classification system for determining scholarship eligibility using data mining methods, particularly the C4.5 algorithm, to ensure that the selection process for scholarship recipients is objective, efficient, and transparent.The research was conducted quantitatively by analyzing student data with economic and academic attributes through stages of data selection, pre-processing, transformation, and result evaluation, utilizing the RapidMiner software. Implementation results show that the C4.5 classification model achieves a high level of accuracy in identifying eligible scholarship recipients, as measured by metrics such as accuracy, precision, and recall. Consequently, the developed system can minimize selection errors and improve the quality of decision-making. Overall, applying the C4.5 algorithm significantly enhances the effectiveness and efficiency of the scholarship selection process, supporting fairness, transparency, and accountability. Furthermore, it opens opportunities for future development by integrating more diverse data and additional machine learning methods to further optimize scholarship selection.The expected result include an Accuracy of 99.80%, Precision of 98.26%, and Recall of 100.00%. These outcomes support more accurate and targeted scholarship decision, ensure transparency and accountability, and open opportunities for future development through data integration to optimize scholarship selection.

Abstract

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common hormonal disorders experienced by women of reproductive age and can lead to various health problems, including menstrual irregularities, infertility, and an increased risk of metabolic diseases. Early detection of PCOS is essential to minimize long-term impacts and improve the quality of life for patients. This study aims to identify effective data preprocessing strategies to enhance the performance of classification models for PCOS detection. The dataset used is open source, consisting of 541 participants with 45 clinical and laboratory features. The main challenges encountered include the presence of many missing values, an imbalanced target class distribution, and a large number of independent features. To address these issues, a series of preprocessing steps were applied, including missing value imputation, data balancing using the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE), and dimensionality reduction using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). A classification model was built using the Random Forest algorithm, and its performance was compared before and after applying PCA. The evaluation results show that before PCA, the model achieved an accuracy of 87.5%, precision of 86%, recall of 86%, and an F1-score of 86%. After applying PCA, performance improved to an accuracy of 90%, precision of 89%, recall of 89%, and an F1-score of 89%. These findings indicate that the right combination of preprocessing strategies, particularly SMOTE and PCA, can significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of models in detecting PCOS, thereby supporting the development of more reliable medical decision support systems.

Abstract

Attendance is one of the important activities in organizational management, especially in the fields of education and business. Until now, attendance systems are still mostly done manually with signatures or ID cards. However, these methods are prone to fraud, such as buddy punching or data manipulation. This study aims to develop a facial recognition-based attendance system on the Android platform using Regula Forensics Face SDK. Test results at thresholds of 70%, 85%, and 90% show that the 85% threshold provides the best compromise, with a False Acceptance Rate (FAR) of 0% and a False Rejection Rate (FRR) of 14.3%. In conclusion, a facial recognition-based attendance system can be implemented on the Android platform using the Regula Forensics Face SDK. This technology has been proven to improve security and efficiency in Android attendance systems. In addition, this technology offers an accurate, fast, and secure biometric solution through flexible integration with Flutter. Despite technical and licensing limitations, this technology is still feasible for implementation in modern attendance systems.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become a global phenomenon of reshaping education. In developed countries, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is widely used to enhance learning outcomes, while in Indonesia adoption remains limited due to infrastructural and digital literacy constraints. This study investigates the impact of AI usage, attitudes toward AI, and implementation challenges on student engagement and task quality at Monte Sienna School, Batam. A mixed-method approach was applied, combining quantitative analysis using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) with qualitative insights from teacher interviews. Findings reveal that attitudes toward AI significantly influence both student engagement and task quality, while AI usage alone does not directly improve academic performance. Challenges related to data security and identity authenticity remain weak and inconsistent, reflecting local infrastructural and cultural limitations. This study contributes empirical evidence from the Indonesian school context and highlights the importance of teacher guidance, digital literacy, and policy support in maximizing AI’s potential in education.

Abstract

A network equipment company specializing in the provision of switches and servers still faces challenges in stock management because the recording of outgoing goods and inventory withdrawal transactions is still done manually using notebooks and Excel. This condition causes problems such as delays in data updates, difficulties in monitoring stock availability in real time, and the risk of discrepancies between data and conditions in the warehouse. The objective of this research is to design and implement a web-based inventory application using a pull inventory approach, where stock is recorded only upon actual demand from projects or customers. This strategy helps reduce the likelihood of overstocking or understocking. Based on testing results, the developed application can support the recording of outgoing goods, provide real-time availability information, and generate useful reports for management, thereby supporting the efficiency, accuracy, and integration of the company's business processes.
