Abstract

Increasing the Ability of Problem Solving by Using Realistic Mathematics Education approach (RME) in Seventh Year Student Class. The aims of the research are: (1) to know the increasing ability of problem solving mathematic student’s by using Realistic Mathematics Education approach, (2) to know there was the interaction between learning and first mathematic ability toward the increasing ability of problem solving mathematic. The research was carried out at MTs S Al-Hijrah Medan. The population of this research is the student grade 1 (one) by taking a sample of the two classes. The data obtained through test THURS, test the ability of mathematical problem solving. The data was analyzed with the test of ANAVA two lines. The result of this research shown that (1) there was increasing ability in problem solving mathematic student’s by using Realistis Mathematics Education approach was better than using direct struction, (2) there were no interaction between learning and student’s ability level to the increasing ability of problem solving mathematic. Research findings recommend RME approach was made one of the learning approaches used in primary schools to conduct varied and innovating learning.

Abstract

This research was conducted to help students understand the concepts learned and facilitate students in solving multiplication material questions. Because the ability to understand concepts is part of a high level of mathematical thinking skills. This research was carried out in the Public Elementary School 100715 in Telo Village, Kec. Batangtoru. This type of research is Class Action Research (CAR). This research was conducted in 2 cycles. Techniques for receiving data by supporting tests and observations. The subject of this study was class III ^ A Public Elementary School 100715 Desa Telo Kec. Batangtoru.The results of this study were in the first cycle of students who completed 11 students with an average score of 66.38 and the percentage of completeness was 55%. In Cycle II students who completed as many as 19 students with an average value of students of 82.13 and the percentage of completeness was 95%. Thus it means applying the method of discussion of concrete objects can increase students' understanding on the subject of multiplication in class III ^ A 100715 Public Elementary School, Telo Village, Kec. Batangtoru.

Abstract

Dalam proses pembelajaran metode yang digunakan guru masih monoton sehingga siswa mudah bosan. Pendekatan yang digunakan guru belum tepat yang mengakibatkan siswa belum efektif dalam proses pembelajaran. Sehingga kreativitas dan berpikir kritis belajar matematika siswa masih rendah dan nilai hasi belajar yang diperoleh siswa masih di bawah KKM.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana penggunaan pendekatan Contekstual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dapat meningkatkan kreativitas dan berpikir kritis belajar matematika siswa di kelas X-9 SMA Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan. Dalam penelitian ini yang menjadi setting penelitian adalah siswa SMA Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan dan subjek penelitian adalah kelas X-9 yang berjumlah 36 siswa.Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi siswa yang dilakukan dan didukung oleh tes hasil belajar siswa. Pada penelitian ini teknik pengumpulan data adalah melalui observasi dan didukung oleh tes hasi belajar. Di dalam analisis data observasi ada dua data pokok yaitu proses dan data hasil. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah teknik komparasi (membandingkan) yaitu membandingkan kondisi antara siklus pertaman dengan siklus kedua.Dari hasil penelitian bahwa pada siklus I pertemuan pertama kreativitas dan berpikir kritis belajar matematika siswa masih rendah, kemudian meningkat pada pertemuan kedua yaitu setiap indikator-indikator dari kreativitas dan tes berpikir kritis belajar matematika siswa meningkat. Karena peningkatan kreativitas dan berpikir kritis belajar matematika siswa belum memenuhi dari aspek yang diamati maka dilanjutkan ke siklus II, yaitu pada pertemuan pertama indikator-indikator kreativitas dan tes berpikir kritis siswa meningkat pada pertemuan pertama. Dan mengalami peningkatan pada pertemuan kedua indikator-indikator kreativitas dan tes berpikir kritis  sudah memenuhi bahkan melebihi dari aspek yang diamati yaitu 80%. Lalu peningkatan kreativitas dan berpikir kritis didukung oleh peningkatan hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa dalam setiap siklus. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan Contekstual Teaching and Learning (CTL) dapat meningkatkan kreativitas dan berpikir kritis matematika siswa kelas X-9 SMA Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to look at the relation between self-regulated learning and learning outcomes of PGMI study program students at UIN North Sumatra. This type of research is quantitative research using the correlational method. 42 students of PGMI study program were used as samples in this study. Data collection was done using a questionnaire and a list of grades Mathematics-II students (Geometry and Measurement). Based on the results of the pearson correlation test output obtained that there is a significant relation of self-regulated learning with student learning outcomes in Mathematics-II subjects. Furthermore, to see the strength or closeness of the correlation between the two variables can be taken a decision from the Pearson Correlation value of 0.793 is in the interpretation of the r value is strongly correlated, then the closeness or strength of the relationship between the two variables is categorized strong. Thus there is a strong positive correlation between self-regulated learning variables with learning outcomes of Mathematics-II subjects. Such a relationship can be interpreted that the higher the level of learning independence, the higher the achievement of student learning outcomes tends to be.

Abstract

AbstractThe research of preparing biodegradable composite materials from polypropylene (PP) filled by fibre recovery (FR) from solid waste pulp and paper mill with meleic anhydride (MAH) as coupling agent and benzoil peroxide (BPO) as initiator has been examined. In this study, fillers composition were variaed (PP:FR)%. Composites were obtained by reflux at 170°C for 3 hour and formed to film. The charaterization were done by tensile test, DTA, FT-IR, SEM, and biodegradable test. The result showed that the optimum ratio of composite PP-FR was (90:10)% with tensile strength 17.7 MPa. The tensile strength increased by adding 3% MAH, obtained optimum tensile strength 20.9 MPa at ratio (60:40)% and by adding BPO, the tensile strength more increased to 24.0 MPa at optimum ratio (70:30)%. The reason for this improvement was detected by FT-IR studies of esterification reactions between PP-MAH with filler FR. SEM studies of the surface showed better dispersion of fibres in the matrix, a more effective wetting of fibres by the matrix, and a better adhesion between the two phases. DTA result showed decreasing of decomposition temperature of composite materials.Key words : Polypropylene, fibre recovery, meleic anhydride

Abstract

Prove or evidence is a range of logical argument which explains the truth of statement.  Previous justification towards argument means logic. Mathematic says that Theorem is a formal one for inference and axiom of deductive system. Abstract

Problem posing in learning mathematics gives more chances for student to achieve, change, and create new mathematics idea through active cooperation in certain discussions. Learning mathematics through problem posing, the students are seen to be active and creative in case of their competences in developing problems/questions of mathematics, understanding as well as exploring information from the problems/questions and posing mathematics problem with is solution. Then, through this problem posing approach, students’ activity and interaction in sharing idea with other students and their teacher could be improved; so that learning activity gives more meaning and understanding for students toward mathematic learning.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low of mathematics learning result of student in class VII MTs Negeri Model Padangsidimpuan caused in learning process of teacher not yet able to attract student attention, student enthusiasm in following lesson so that student have difficulties in answer mathematical problems especially in building rectangle which causes student learning outcomes have not been maximized. This research was conducted with the aim to know the influence of cooperative learning model type make a match berbantuan graphic media to the students' mathematics learning outcomes on the subject matter of quadrilateral in class VII MTs Negeri Model Padangsidimpuan. This research refers to Piaget's developmental theory which states that learning is a process whereby children actively build systems of meaning and understanding of reality through their experiences and interactions. This research is a quantitative research with quasi experimental method using model Pretest-Posttest Control Design Group. The population of this study is the total of students of class VII MTs Negeri Model Padangsidimpuan consisting of 11 classes totaling 418 students. The sample in this research is taken with cluster sampling technique that is 76 students. The samples in the experimental group treated 38 students and the control group were not treated 38 students. Data processing and data analysis is done by using T-Test formula. Based on the normality test and homogeneity test both classes are normal and homogeneous distributed. T test-test obtained by hypothesis test result that show thitung ttabel that is 4,636 1,993. H1 accepted, meaning there is a significant influence between the use of cooperative learning model type Make A Match assisted graphics media on student learning outcomes on the subject of quadrilateral in class VII MTs Negeri Model Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

Mathematical communication is the ability of a person in terms of explaining an algorithm and unique ways to solve problems, the ability of students to construct, and explain the presentation of real word phenomena in graphs, word/sentence, equation, tables or the ability of students to give assumstions about geometry image. Learning strategies that support mathematical communication skills is: Small-Group-Work Strategy, Group, Cooverative Learning, Think-Pair-Share Strategy, and Think-Talk-Write Strategy.
