Abstract

The multicultural approach plays a vital role in learning religious education in order to recognize the diversity that exists, especially in conflict-prone zone schools. This study aims to describe a multicultural approach in learning religious education in conflict-prone zones. Through exercising Garfinkel’s ethnomethodology analysis, this qualitative research was conducted at SMAN 2 Pasaman and SMAN 1 Luhak Nan Duo senior high schools within conflict-prone zones of West Pasaman, West Sumatra. The dynamics of school philosophy towards inclusive multicultural approaches in religious education for schools in conflict-prone zones indicated that academic culture within said schools must be capable of creating a more harmonious atmosphere among ethnic diversities, mainly that of Javanese, Minangkabaunese, and Bataknese. The application of multicultural approaches in religious education for such schools in conflict-prone zones showed that the planning, implementation, and evaluation of religious education must be carried out while simultaneously considering the diversity of these ethnicities. The employment of an inclusive multicultural approach in association with schools in conflict-prone zones showed that the school’s physical environment is strategic for the interaction of various ethnicities, such as with Javanese, Minang, and Batak ethnicities at SMAN 2 Pasaman and SMAN 1 Luhak Nan Duo. This research is useful as input in making and improving policies by schools and the government regarding the implementation of religious education with a multicultural approach in conflict-prone zone schools.

Abstract

Adaptive physical education is a type of physical education geared toward children with special needs, such as intellectual disabilities. Of course, there must be an assessment in learning to see if the results taught from the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor perspectives were achieved. The goal of this research was to learn more about how physical education learning outcomes were assessed in schools for students with intellectual disabilities in Semarang. The research method used was descriptive. This method aims to describe the events and circumstances that occurred. The research approach used was qualitative. Data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation. The informant for this study was a Semarang-based special school teacher (SLB) who teaches physical education classes. The findings revealed that teachers had difficulty making assessments for mentally retarded students even though the assessment was still conducted as it should. It was determined that the teacher conducted a cognitive, affective, and psychomotor assessment of physical education learning and modified the assessment indicators to find appropriate standards. Meanwhile, the assessment was carried out based on the students' abilities.

Abstract

Most students in Indonesia find it difficult to understand the concepts of mathematics correctly. This is caused by the factor of teacher who doesn’t master the learning method according to the class situation and the factor of the students who are less interested in learning mathematics. The DDCT is suitable in this case, the purpose of this study is to find out the effect of the DDCT and how much it affects the students' ability to understand concepts at SMPN 7 Ambon. This research is quantitative looking for the relationship between variables, with a pre-experimental design of the type of one-shot case study. The samples taken were students of class X-1 (experimental) and X-2 (control), each of which amounted to 15 people at SMPN 7 Ambon. Data were collected on concept understanding ability tests and questionnaires used for student responses during learning using DDCT. Data were analyzed through hypothesis testing and determinant coefficients using SPSS 22.0. The results showed that the average value of the experimental class was 88.67 and the control class was 60, so there was a difference in the average value of 28.67. From the results of the analysis obtained tcount = 0.862 ttable = 0.05, it is concluded that there is an effect of DDCT on students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The findings during the research showed that DDCT: 1) can be used to train students to more easily understand a material, and 2) deep dialogue/critical thinking emphasizes attitude and mental emotional so that students learn with fun.
