Abstract

To achieve the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), especially the 8th goal, the government needs to be concerned about reducing unemployment. Two of the government's efforts are increasing investment and ICT (information and communication technology), where this study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of these efforts and other economic indicators on unemployment rates. This study uses the provincial panel of Indonesia data from 2012 to 2020, which is analyzed through dynamic panel data regression with the Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) Arellano-Bond approach. This analytical method is used because the variables are dynamic and able to estimate the short-run as well as the long-run effect. The results show that Domestic Direct Investment (DDI), economic growth, and regional minimum wages significantly reduce unemployment rates. Furthermore, the elasticity results show that for every 1 percent increase in domestic investment in a province, it will reduce the unemployment rate in the short run by 0.144 percent and in the long run by 0.205 percent. Meanwhile, ICT development is proven to increase unemployment, where every 1 percent increase will increase unemployment in the short run by 0.501 percent and in the long run by 0.713 percent. This study can be used as an evaluation material for the government and the stakeholders. Especially, to formulate strategies so that technological development does not become a time bomb for employment problems. In addition, increasing investment, dominantly from domestic, in the sectors that absorb many laborers is needed to accelerate the economy wheel performance.

Abstract

Dental caries is a chronic infectious disease in hard tooth tissues with various factors etiology. The prevalence of dental caries in Indonesia is relatively high. One of the factors of dental caries etiology is cariogenic bacteria known as Lactobacillus acidophilus. These type of bacteria is acidogenic, aciduric, and can adhere to tooth enamel by synthesizing sticky glucan from sucrose to form dental biofilms. The existence of these bacteria in saliva proved to be contributing to the frequency and activity of dental caries, therefore it is important to inhibit their growth to prevent caries. Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni leaves extract is now being developed as an alternative to overcome the problems that are still encountered with the chlorhexidine, as the gold standard for controlling dental biofilms. The review aims to explain the cariogenic antibacterial potential of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni leaves extract against Lactobacillus acidophilus. Literature search was carried out with sources from the EBSCO, PubMed, and ResearchGate database from the year 2012 to 2022 employing relevant keywords akin to the article titles. Antibacterial activity of Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni leaves extract in various solvents has been shown to be effective against Lactobacillus acidophilus. In this case, it may be due to the content of bioactive components of Stevia leaves extract, such as flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, sterols, and tannins. Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni leaaves extract has the potential to inhibit the growth of Lactobacillus acidophilus hence, can be used as a natural alternative antibacterial agent to prevent dental caries

Abstract

One of the basic problems in the elderly is health problems due to degenerative process, namely the emergence of non-infectious diseases such as hypertension, arthritis, stroke, heart disease, diabetes mellitus, cancer, ect. In general, degenerative diseases are chronic and cause recurrent pain, causing a tendency to use painkiller repeatedly and prolonged. Inappropriate use of painkiller can cause various side effects such as peptic ulcer, hypertension, bleeding, kidney disturbance, ect. This activity aims to increase elderly knowledge about the use of painkiller so as to avoid unwanted side effect when consuming them. The method used in this activity is counseling about the safe use of painkiller. To measure the success of the activity, pre-test and post-test were carried out using power point media and question and answers session. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxson test. The result showed that the number of participans in this activity was 41 elderly people. The level of knowledge of the elderly about the use of painkiller is is relatively lacking, the average value of the pre-test is 59.22 and after counseling there is an increase in knowledge with an average value of 73,17 post-test. In conclusion, there was a significant increase in knowledge with p value= 0.000 after counseling.

Abstract

Control Self Assessment (CSA) has various benefits for a company or organization that implements it because it provides great added value in improving the operational performance of the company or organization. The process of implementing the Control Self Assessment (CSA) continues to be developed and implemented so that the benefits can be felt because it reveals the broad problems involved in the risk control concept. Control Self Assessment (CSA) is a process where management from all levels continuously builds awareness on all important factors that can affect the achievement of goals so as to enable them to make the necessary adjustments (create control). The company in this case the management cooperates with the Internal Audit and Risk Management Unit in an effort to develop the Risk Management. The Internal Auditor is required to carry out his role as a consultant to facilitate the development of Risk Management in the company. The structure of the ALKHA automotive company has several fields, each of which has a specific work process. With the Control Self Assessment method, all fields identify the inherent risks inherent in the work process as well as the mitigation activities that must be carried out. This paper will present in detail the technical implementation and results of the Control Self Assessment in the ALKHA work area, namely the Material Planning field. Errors that arise due to the application of CSA can be negligence of the PIC concerned but also due to weak dual control (dual control) from related parties. Analysis of the data in this paper, several conclusions can be drawn that internal auditors have an important role in facilitating Control Self Assessment of business processes in the Materials Planning sector.
