Abstract

This study was initiated due to the low mathematics achievement of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 3 Satu Atap Idanotae, South Nias Regency, particularly on the topic of integers. Student performance was below the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM) set at 67, with only 9 out of 21 students (approximately 44%) meeting the required standard. The primary aim of this research was to improve student learning outcomes through the implementation of a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with the TPACK approach. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design and was conducted in two cycles during the 2018/2019 academic year. The findings indicate that the application of the PBL model effectively enhanced student learning outcomes in the topic of integers. Increased teacher engagement in the learning process was also observed, attributed to the use of the PBL model. Student achievement showed a consistent upward trend across the cycles. Prior to the intervention, only 9 students met the KKM with a class average of 44%. In the first cycle, 15 students achieved the KKM, raising the class average to 67%, and in the second cycle, 19 students met the KKM with a class average of 93%. These results demonstrate the positive impact of the PBL model in improving students’ mathematical understanding and overall academic performance.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) has a very important role in shaping the character of the Alpha generation, which is now growing in the digital era. Amidst the rapid advancement of technology, this generation is faced with challenges in understanding and internalizing Islamic values. Unfortunately, traditional learning methods are often less effective in dealing with these dynamics. Therefore, innovative approaches are needed, such as project-based learning, gamification, and the use of interactive digital media. This journal also emphasizes the importance of collaboration between schools, families, and communities as the key to supporting student character development. Through the right approach, Islamic Religious Education has the potential to help the Alpha generation become individuals who are not only emotionally intelligent, but also have moral integrity, and are able to internalize Islamic values in everyday life.

Abstract

The increasing presence of Generation Z (Gen Z) in the workforce has necessitated a shift in leadership strategies to effectively engage and inspire this digital-native generation. Gen Z employees prioritize autonomy, technological integration, and purpose-driven work, which challenges traditional leadership models. This study explores the most effective leadership approaches for managing Gen Z, focusing on transformational, laissez-faire, and participative leadership styles. The research employs a literature review methodology, synthesizing existing studies on leadership theories, workplace behaviors, and generational expectations. Findings indicate that Gen Z employees thrive in flexible, digitally connected, and ethically conscious work environments. Transformational leadership, which emphasizes mentorship and motivation, proves particularly effective, while laissez-faire leadership supports their need for independence. However, a balanced approach is necessary, as Gen Z also requires structured feedback and career development opportunities. The study concludes that organizations must adopt adaptive, technology-driven, and value-oriented leadership models to attract and retain Gen Z employees. Leaders who embrace digital tools, corporate social responsibility, and continuous learning will create a dynamic and motivated workforce that fosters innovation and long-term success.

Abstract

This study investigates the use of metaphorical euphemisms in Instagram comments related to Anies Baswedan, a prominent figure in Indonesian politics. The aim is to analyze how netizens use euphemisms to navigate sensitive political discourse in a digital context. Metaphorical euphemisms, defined as expressions that soften or reframe controversial or harsh topics, play a significant role in managing political expression. The research uses a qualitative content analysis approach to examine 15 Instagram comments, categorizing euphemisms into three types: analogy, distortion, and borrowing (Allan & Burridge, 2020). The findings reveal that distortion euphemisms were most common (46.67%), followed by analogy euphemisms (40%) and borrowing euphemisms (13.33%). Distortion euphemisms often reframed negative political situations in a more acceptable or humorous light, while analogy euphemisms employed vivid comparisons to communicate complex ideas in a relatable manner. Borrowing euphemisms utilized terms from other contexts to soften their meaning. The study emphasizes the importance of these linguistic strategies in fostering constructive dialogue while mitigating conflict in politically polarized environments. The findings contribute to understanding how euphemisms function in digital political communication, revealing the creativity of netizens in expressing their views. This research offers insights into the role of language in shaping public opinion and engagement in the digital age.
