Abstract

This service activity aims to provide understanding to the community, especially teenagers in Tarasu Village to be smart and careful in spreading and responding to news spread on social media, especially Facebook. The methods used are lectures, question and answer, and discussion. The material presented was the introduction of institutions, socialization of the Law on Information and Electronic Transactions (UU ITE), socialization of filters before sharing, delivery of wise social media methods, and screening of short films. This activity received a warm welcome and was followed enthusiastically by the community. Teenagers understand that using Facebook must pay attention to ethics. Thus, media literacy is an effort to educate adolescents in using social media as well as the legal consequences that can be accepted when abusing social media.

Abstract

The purpose of this service is to help the Lombok Utara Government in making plans to develop residental area, as a basis for managing cities without slum program.The object of this service is in Tanjung and Pemenang Subdistrict. Community service activities are generally carried out in 4 stages, that is: preparation stage, verification location and formulation of concepts and strategies, formulation of handling plans, and detail engineering desain.The result of community service is the form for developing residential areas plan document, can be used to prioritize the handling programs so that the planning become faster and more precise.

Abstract

Langko Village is now being one of the villages that currently becomes the focus of the central and local governments as a pilot village for ginger drink centers. In line with the government's focus, the demands which carried by ginger drink UMKM are getting bigger, one of which is the demand for UMKM to master English so that they are ready to communicate with foreign tourists who visiting Langko village. In addition, those UMKM are still unable to manage their finances report. For this reason, English language training activities and financial accounting were carried out so that the purpose of the village community, regional and central government could be realized, creating Langko village as a ginger drink center village. The participants who involved in this training are lecturers and students majoring in Accounting and English. with an intensive training method, twice a week for six months, with English material for conversation between sellers and buyers and basic accounting material. The results achieved in this training activity are Langko village community in general and the UMKM activists in particular can apply the skills acquired during the training and can manage their UMKM finances more regularly and independently. The involvement of students also contributed significantly to the sustainability of the training.

Abstract

The implementation of Mini-Seminar of English language for health at social health major of UNDIKMA Mataram aims to improve students’ English language knowledge, capability in Social Health Program of Undikma, especially English for social health both theoretically and practically. This program involved the students of social health in Undikma Mataram. The presenters or the mentors of this program were the English lecturers, and the students majoring in social health who are still active as students as the participants. The program took place in Mandalika University of Education (UNDIKMA), Mataram. The program implemented the method included planning, acting, observing in which through giving the material presentation focusing on some materials such as; English for health, eight parts of speech, modal auxiliaries, mini conversation practice realizing the materials given. The result of the implemented program revealed the high enthusiasm and interest to participate actively within the process of the program given start from the first till the end. The students also gained the increase improvement regarding the capability of using English language expression for social health, vocabulary items, and self-confident. The students also expected the same program may be re-conducted since they showed a high appreciation to the program given in terms of presentation, and guiding within the practice, so that they can enrich and improve their English language communication skill especially English for social health.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to equip children with various kinds of knowledge about further study, have a view on further study so that students are able to make decisions in choosing and planning their studies, according to their talents and interests. The method used in this service activity is counseling with lectures and open discussions in conveying material, this can facilitate the extension process and students are more flexible to ask questions about various matters related to further study. The target of this community service activity is the students of class XII SMA Negeri 1 Labuapi, West Lombok, totaling 30 students. The result of this service activity is that students are able to plan and make further study decisions they want after graduating from high school that is tailored to their talents and interests.

Abstract

The purpose of this service activity is to reduce the impact of mercury on small-scale gold mining communities through training and coaching activities in Sekotong village. The Sekotong region, West Lombok Regency is an area rich in potential gold resources with the potential to mine 1,596 tons of gold and can be mined for decades. This potential has been exploited by the community by traditional gold mining. The gold mining area in Sekotong is spread over 3 locations, namely Buwun Mas, Kerato and Pelangan involving 5000 traditional miners. Gold processing carried out in the community is by using amalgamation and cyanidation methods. The technology provided in this service activity is by eliminating the use of mercury in gold processing, reducing the use of cyanide, training and coaching on appropriate standard operating procedures in handling mercury and cyanide, and processing cyanide before it is discharged into the environment. The result of this community service activity is that with the application of this technology, the environment and traditional gold miners become safer and healthier.

Abstract

The purpose of this service activity is to provide an understanding of Covid 19 and how to deal with fear and anxiety in children and parents. The method of implementing the activity uses online media, which is followed by teachers and parents, as well as the presentation of interesting applications for PAUD Mutiara Islam Mataram. The result of activity is the existence of useful knowledge on how to deal with anxiety and prevent the Covid-19 outbreak. Active discussion and enthusiastic participants when receiving the material presented by the speaker.

Abstract

The purpose of this service activity is to conduct education on planning and managing household finances more effectively and optimally so that it can improve family welfare for housewives in Bajur village. The methods of implementing this activity are lectures, discussions and exercises. The lecture consists of delivering material related to the definition of a personal or family financial management system and the importance of such management for the good and the future of the family. Participants are also trained to make the correct income and expenditure budget manually. Participants in this service activity were a group of PKK women in Bajur Village, totaling around 35 people. The result of service activities is that more than 80% of participants attended, this was calculated from the number of participants of around 33 people who participated in this activity. Most of the participants (85%) understand the household income and expenditure budget, are able to set a priority scale for needs and are able to prepare household income and expenditure budgets correctly. This activity ran smoothly and received a very positive response from the participants. This can be seen from the participants who enthusiastically participated in the event from start to finish and actively discussed issues surrounding family financial management.
