Abstract

Panjer Kiling is a local culture of Banyuwangi district in the form of a windmill made of bamboo and wood. Kiling is generally positioned in the rice fields to chase away birds or just become a farmer's entertainment. This article aims to analyze Panjer Kiling as a potential renewable energy source. The analysis was carried out with a literature review obtained from the publication of research results on the internet. The analysis begins with technical data obtained by surveying and interviewing a Kiling maker. The study was conducted for the performance of wind turbine blades and the development of application of bamboo material as wind turbine blades. The results of the study indicate that bamboo has a very high potential to be developed into wind turbine blade material. This shows that the Kiling has the potential to be developed into a small-scale wind energy source. Keywords: panjer, kiling, blade, turbine, wind

Abstract

The heat of vehicle engine emission is still can be used in order to efficiency effort and thermal polution preventive activity. This research is aimed to get the effect of the insulator coating pattern on the header on the motorcycle exhaust temperature. The reserach is done for Honda Scoopy motorcycle with engine rotation vary as 1000, 1500 and 2000 rpm. Isolator insulation vary for insulation pattern as 0, 1 and 2 cm in distance. The temperatures of exhaust are measured in 4 points measurement with K type thermocouple. The result shows that insulator coating pattern affects the temperature of the exhaust gas heat dissipation exhaust pipe (header) motorcycle exhaust. Abstract

Abstract The characteristics of young coconut skin, which has high fiber content, are often an obstacle factor in the peeling process. Setting the rotation speed and angle of the slicing knife are important parameters that affect the cutting style of the coconut peeler knife. This study aims to determine the production capacity, electrical power requirements, and physical quality of the peeling results on the young coconut peeler machine. The experiment was carried out using variations in the sharpness of the blade angle, namely 10o, 15 o, and 25 o. Young coconut material is selected with relatively the same diameter and weight. The results showed that the knife angle variation of 15o had the highest production capacity of 499 pieces/hour. Research on economic analysis generates Rp. 1.093/hour while for electric power or the cost of electricity required per unit is Rp. 19/piece. This research can be concluded that the variation of the angle of the blade that has optimum performance is shown in the variation of the angle of 15 o. Abstract

ATV is a vehicle with engine drive using a combustion engine, ATV is designed to have maneuverability supported by a lightweight and strong frame construction, a tough engine, and an adequate suspension system. Almost similar to cars, ATVs have applied Aeckermann's steering and independent suspension. At first ATVs were only used by plantation owners for their means of transportation, but along with the development of the times ATVs can be used for many activities in the automotive world such as racing, motorbikes for nature explorers, operational vehicles for the SAR team or in Indonesia many are rented out for cross-country activities at tourist sites. This study discusses the effect of the load on the performance of the steering system on a 110 cc ATV motorbike which is planned to be modified into an electric motor as the main engine. To measure the load on the performance of the design steering system using a digital dynamometer that is linked from the steering wheel to the ATV motor frame, to determine the weight of the steering wheel against the load, it is done with variations in the steering radius of 100, 150, 250, and 350 and giving a load of 0, 50, 75 kg. Later the digital dynamometer will read automatically when the variation of the experiment is carried out. The purpose of the study was to obtain the effect of the weight of the load on the performance of the motor steering system on a 110 cc ATV motor vehicle. In this study, changes in the load received by the steering wheel are expected to affect the magnitude of the moment to be received. This parameter is one of the performance of a steering system. The increase in payload causes the steering system to become heavier. This is due to the influence of the weight of the load pressing the seat (load point) which is forwarded to the vehicle frame, this is due to the gravitational force of the load on the vehicle, so that the steering system directly receives the load pressure which is transmitted to the tires. From this steering tire gets heavy friction from the road surface, so turning the steering wheel becomes heavy or difficult. Keywords: load, steering, ATV, performance

Abstract

Research has been carried out with the aim of obtaining the effect of adding "kepok" banana fiber (Musa Pasadisianca) to the compressive strength of the brick. The study was conducted in a true experiment with variations in the ratio of the addition of banana fiber by 1.6; 2.5; and 3.3 gram. applying pressure to each specimen in variation 3; 5; and 7 N/m, the compressive strength test was carried out to obtain the mechanical properties of the product. The results showed that the percentage decrease in mass and product dimensions increased along with the pressure applied to the specimen. Depreciation of the mass of brick products is accompanied by changes in the value of the water content of the product. Abstract

Abstract Railway components especially for parts of that often occur friction and resist when there is a pulling or pushing must have a low roughness to reduce the occurrence wear caused by frictioning and as an indicator good or bad quality of a product. The purpose of this study is to know the effect of roughness level of cutting parameter variation, wet process manufacturing method variation, dry process and nose radius variations of chisel lathe 0.4, 0.8 in the ST 90 The method used in this study is experimental. The independent variables in this study were variations in cutting parameters, nose radius of the tool, and working methods. In cutting parameters, spindle rotational speed (540 Rpm, 800 Rpm, 1500 Rpm), feed speed (0.226 mm/revolution), depth of cut (2 mm) and for nose radius using 0.4 mm and 0.8 mm, there are also variations in wet working methods. process and dry process. After testing is carried out, it shows that on the ST 90 with the wet process working method and nose radius 0.8 turning variation with spindle rotation speed of 1500 Rpm, depth of cut 2 mm, feed speed 0.226 mm/rev has a roughness value of 2.625 µm. Meanwhile, for the highest level of roughness, using the dry process method and chisel nose radius 0.4 with a turning speed of 540 Rpm, a cutting depth of 2 mm, a feed speed of 0.226 mm/rev having a roughness value of 9.223 µm. Abstract

Abstract The fastener is one of the most important components in the railway infrastructure that must be inspected and maintained. Installing and removing fasteners nowadays is still using manual tools like hammers and panpullers which take a long time of 12 seconds and can damage the bearings due to the rebound of the tool. And the current tool is a hydraulic pump-based e-clip fastener installation and removal tool that takes 22 seconds to remove the fastener. Therefore, a device is needed to minimize the damage on the bearing so that its use is more effective and its utility is easy because it uses a control switch that is connected to the battery and then connected to an electric jack. This tool is targeted to be able to release the fastening in a period of under 10 seconds.The process of making an electric jack-based e-clip fastener assisting tool can be carried out in several stages, each of which is the design process, the upper frame manufacturing process, the lower frame manufacturing process, the tool pusher frame manufacturing process, the tool balancer frame manufacturing process, and the completion process. The finishing process of the tool manufacturing.The function testing of the electric jack-based e-clip fastener installation and removal assisting tool at Indonesian Railways Company, Rail road unit, Madiun for road and bridge maintenance. Function testing is done twice with two different operators. The results of the tool function test, the tool can perform the process of releasing one fastener for 5 seconds and can speed up the fastening maintenance process at Indonesian Railways Company, Rail road unit, Madiun. Abstract

Water tubing merupakan olahraga air yang menggunakan ban dalam untuk mengarungi sungai. Olahraga ini menjadi daya tarik wisata sehingga termasuk dalam pengembangan sport tourism. Water tubing merupakan fenomena benda apung dimana suatu benda akan mengapung di atas permukaan air jika gaya apung benda lebih besar dari gaya berat bendanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gaya apung dalam olahraga water tubing. Analisis dilakukan dengan membandingkan gaya apung dan gaya berat. Berat benda diasumsikan sebagai jumlah berat ban dan berat orang dengan variasi 50 kg sampai 100 kg dengan interval 5 kg. Ban dalam dibedakan tiga jenis berdasarkan ukuran diameter. Hasil perhitungan ditampilkan dalam bentuk tabel dan grafik. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa tiga jenis ban dan variasi berat benda memberikan gaya apung yang lebih besar dibandingkan gaya beratnya

Abstract

Saat ini, sepeda motor listrik telah banyak dijadikan sebagai pilihan moda transportasi alternatif karena sepeda motor listrik memiliki beberapa kelebihan, salah satunya menghasilkan tingkat polusi yang rendah. Salah satu bagian utama dari sepeda motor listrik adalah rangka, yang berfungsi sebagai penyangga beban utama dari sepeda motor listrik dan dudukan dari berbagai komponen lain. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan komponen stiffener pada rangka menggunakan simulasi metode elemen hingga. Terdapat dua jenis rancangan yang disimulasikan, yaitu rangka dengan penambahan stiffener dan rangka tanpa stiffener sebagai pembanding. Kedua rancangan rangka dibuat dengan menggunakan profil persegi dengan ketebalan 2.2 mm dari bahan baja ASTM A36. Jenis simulasi yang dipilih adalah simulasi pembebanan statis dengan beban yang terdiri dari beban penumpang serta beban komponen baterai dan sistem kontrol. Parameter yang hendak diperoleh dari simulasi antara lain tegangan von mises, defleksi total rangka, dan nilai safety factor. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa rancangan rangka dengan penambahan stiffener mengalami tegangan von mises maksimum sebesar 74.67 MPa, defleksi total maksimum sebesar 0.06692 mm, dan safety factor minimum sebesar 3.348. Sementara itu, rancangan tanpa penambahan stiffener mengalami tegangan von mises maksimum sebesar 110.3 MPa, defleksi total maksimum sebesar 0.5209 mm, serta nilai safety factor minimum sebesar 2.266.

Abstract

Perkembangan otomotif sebagai sarana transportasi sangat memudahkan manusia dalam melakukan pekerjaan, dalam era modern seperti sekarang ini kendaraan sudah menjadi salah satu kebutuhan pokok, hal ini dibuktikan dengan melonjaknya penjualan kendaraan bermotor setiap tahunnya. Diketahui bahwa bahan bakar Nabati merupakan sumber energi yang dihasilkan dari tumbuhan dan memiliki potensi yang sangat besar untuk menggantikan bahan bakar fosil, dua jenis bahan bakar yang paling sering digunakan adalah etanol dan biodiesel, biodiesel dari minyak kelapa sawit mencatatkan penurunan emisi sebesar 50% dibanding minyak solar, yang artinya selain sebagai bahan bakar alternative bahan bakar nabati juga lebih ramah lingkungan. Untuk itu dalam penelitian ini dicari karakteristik minyak nabati yaitu minyak kayu putih, minyak kemiri, minyak kedelai dan minyak kacang tanah terhadap pembakaran secara premixed, yang sesuai dengan karakteristik pembakaran pada mobil. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimental nyata (true experiment reseach). objek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah karakteristik nyala api dan air fuel ratio minyak nabati terhadap pembakaran premixed. Data yang diperoleh akan diplot pada grafik yaitu air fuel rasio terhadap masing-masing minyak nabati dan udara. Grafik ini akan dijadikan acuan untuk menganalisis bagaimana karakteristik bahan bakar minyak nabati terhadap pembakaran premixed. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minyak kacang tanah memiliki profil nyala api yang paling baik dengan RGB sebesar 155.164 dan jari-jari kontur 2,87, diikuti minyak kedelai dengan RGB sebesar 62.956 dan jari-jari kontur 2,6275, minyak kayu putih memiliki profil nyala api yang paling rendah dengan RGB 12.639 dan jari-jari kontur 1,47, sementara minyak kemiri tidak dapat menyala pada saat perlakuan uji pengambilan data. Sedangkan AFR terbaik pembakaran premixed minyak nabati adalah 20:40. Boilimg point tidak berpengaruh terhadap temperatur, kacang tanah memiliiki boiling point yang tertinggi yaitu 363 derajat celcius, sementara kedelai memiliki temperatur pembakaran yang paling baik yaitu 42,4 derajat celcius Kata kunci: pembakaran premixed, air fuel ratio, minyak kayu putih, minyak kemiri, minyak kedelai.
