Abstract

Pharmaceutical services in Indonesian community pharmacies play a critical role in ensuring safe and effective medication use. However, despite the establishment of the Ministry of Health Regulation No. 73 of 2016, significant disparities in compliance persist, which may compromise patient safety and the quality of pharmaceutical care. This study analyzes pharmacy compliance across various regions of Indonesia in implementing pharmaceutical service standards, focusing on three key domains: pharmaceutical supply management, clinical services, and human resources. A total of 43 eligible studies were systematically reviewed and categorized according to the regulatory indicators. The results showed that pharmaceutical supply management demonstrated the highest compliance levels (average 88–94%), as it directly supports pharmacy profitability. In contrast, clinical services such as counseling, Home Pharmacy Care (HPC), and Drug Therapy Monitoring (DTM) exhibited low implementation rates (23–40%), primarily due to limited remuneration and insufficient pharmacist engagement. Only 36.87% of pharmacies conducted self-evaluations, yet these showed significantly higher compliance compared to those that did not. Pharmacist attendance alone did not correlate with improved clinical service provision, indicating that competency and institutional support are more critical determinants of compliance. In conclusion, the findings highlight that Indonesian pharmacies remain largely business-oriented, with clinical services underperformed relative to managerial aspects. Strengthening policy enforcement and professional capacity-building is essential to enhance compliance and support a shift toward patient-centered pharmaceutical care.

Abstract

Dysphagia is one of the most prevalent and persistent complications in patients with head and neck cancer (HNC), particularly nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), with a reported prevalence of 45–83%. This narrative review aimed to synthesize recent evidence (2015–2025) on the effectiveness of texture-modified diets and swallowing therapies in improving nutritional intake, swallowing safety, and quality of life in HNC patients. Literature searches were performed systematically through PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and Dimensions using predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 12 eligible articles for analysis. The findings showed that dysphagia significantly contributes to malnutrition, aspiration risk, prolonged hospitalization, reduced treatment adherence, and decreased survival. Interventions such as diets guided by the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI), personalized nutritional strategies, and structured swallowing therapies demonstrated beneficial outcomes in reducing aspiration, maintaining oral intake, and improving clinical prognosis. In addition to synthesizing clinical outcomes, this review provides a theoretical contribution by framing dysphagia management as a multidisciplinary process that integrates nutritional science, swallowing physiology, and rehabilitative practice. Preventive swallowing exercises during radiotherapy and multidisciplinary management further enhanced long-term outcomes. The synthesis highlights the necessity of integrating nutrition and swallowing rehabilitation into routine oncology practice, with particular implications for healthcare facilities with limited resources where IDDSI adoption and preventive therapy remain underutilized. Future studies should prioritize high-quality randomized controlled trials, particularly in NPC populations, to validate intervention protocols and standardize best practices. This review contributes to bridging evidence with clinical application, providing a framework for safer and more effective patient-centered care.

Abstract

Nursing-led interventions play a critical role in strengthening primary health care (PHC) delivery; however, empirical evidence on their policy-level impact remains fragmented and under-theorized. This review synthesizes quantitative and qualitative findings to evaluate how nursing-driven strategies influence PHC policy implementation outcomes across diverse health system contexts. A systematic search across five major databases and grey literature sources identified eligible studies assessing the effectiveness, feasibility, and contextual determinants of nursing-led interventions using established methodological frameworks. Quantitative analyses demonstrated that these interventions were associated with enhanced measurable policy compliance, improved continuity of care indicators, and greater alignment with PHC implementation targets. Qualitative synthesis further highlighted perceived patient empowerment, the contextual barriers faced by nurses, and the organizational enablers that shape intervention effectiveness. This review provides an integrative synthesis linking nursing-led interventions to PHC policy adherence, offering a novel framework for evaluating community-based policy outcomes. Findings underscore the importance of context-sensitive implementation and highlight opportunities for strengthening PHC systems through nursing leadership.

Abstract

Colorectal cancer is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality globally. Bamboo shoots (Dendrocalamus asper) are known to contain dietary fiber, polyphenols, flavonoids, phytosterols, and oligosaccharides that have the potential to provide biological effects on the prevention of colorectal cancer. This study aims to map the latest scientific evidence regarding the bioactive content of D. asper, the mechanism of action relevant to colorectal cancer, and its opportunities for use as a candidate for phytopharmaceuticals and complementary therapies. This study is a scoping review with a systematic search approach. Literature searches were conducted on PubMed, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Google Scholar, and Garuda with a publication period of January 2018-August 2025. The selection of articles follows the inclusion-exclusion criteria and PRISMA guidelines. A total of 9 articles met the criteria and were analyzed through thematic synthesis. The results of the study showed that D. asper has an important phytochemical profile, including phenolics, flavonoids, and phytosterols that play a role in antioxidant, antiproliferative, anti-inflammatory, and apoptotic induced activity. Bamboo fiber and oligosaccharides have also been shown to promote beneficial bacterial growth and the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), specifically butyrates, which protect the colon mucosa and lower the risk of preneoplastic lesion formation. In vitro and in vivo evidence consistently supports bamboo's potential as a colorectal cancer prevention agent, although human clinical trials are not yet available. The conclusion of this study is that bamboo shoots show strong prospects as well as a candidate for phytopharmaceuticals as well as complementary therapies in efforts to prevent colorectal cancer.
