Abstract

Watermelon is a horticultural plant that can be cultivated by the wider community with adequate profits. In Indonesia, watermelon production is still unable to meet the huge market demand and has not been able to be met by local watermelon-producing areas. One of the reasons why watermelon production is insufficient is because the fruit is easily damaged due to inappropriate watermelon seeds. The right watermelon seeds can be selected using a Decision Support System. This study uses two combination methods, namely Weighted Product (WP) and Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS), to be applied in the Decision Support System for watermelon seed recommendations. The WP method is used to determine the weight of the criteria, while TOPSIS is used to determine the order of watermelon seed recommendations. The data used in this study were twenty alternative watermelon seeds with five criteria, namely land recommendations, yield potential, fruit weight, harvest age, and disease resistance. Of the five criteria determined by the WP method, the largest criterion value is in the land recommendation. The results of the implementation with both methods produced recommendations for watermelon seeds, with the first ranking result being the F1 Series (3n) watermelon seeds with a preference value of 0.85442, and black box testing showed that this system was able to provide recommendations for quality watermelon seeds according to their functionality based on the application of the WP and TOPSIS methods.

Abstract

The main problem of providing internet services for provider companies, especially WiCo GraPARI Telkom Purwokerto in responding to the needs and challenges of technological digitalization. This research aims to analyze the Quality of Service (QoS) of WiCo GraPARI Telkom Purwokerto network using TIPHON standard. The TIPHON standard is a series of standards developed by ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) in order to support the interoperability of Internet Protocol (IP) based telecommunications services. Testing of throughput, delay, packet loss, and jitter parameters was carried out using the Wireshark application. Testing quality of service parameters is done through four scenarios in quiet and crowded internet network conditions for the process of downloading and uploading videos from Google Drive. The results show that the overall network performance falls into the "Very Good" category with an index of 4 for throughput, delay, and packet loss, and the "Good" category with an index of 3 for jitter. The highest throughput was recorded at 23.687564 bps, the lowest delay was 0.386 ms, with no packet loss in all scenarios, and the lowest jitter was 0.386 ms. Thus, it can be concluded that the WiCo GraPARI Telkom Purwokerto internet network has met the expected TIPHON quality standards. Suggestions for future research to be able to include the expansion of studies in various other WiCo GraPARI locations to get a more comprehensive picture as well as the use of other testing methods and tools for more varied and in-depth results.

Abstract

The growth of the population, which affects traffic congestion issues, has shown that effective traffic management is crucial, especially at intersections with high vehicle volumes. Currently, traffic control methods using hand signals from traffic officers are considered less effective, with controllers often experiencing disruptions with traffic lights. To address this issue, it is necessary to design a prototype of an Automatic Warning System at Traffic Lights (AWSTRAL). This system will be designed to provide automatic warnings to drivers when there is a disruption in the traffic light or an unsafe traffic situation. This research uses a prototyping approach to design AWSTRAL, which consists of several main components, including traffic sensors, data processing systems, and warning displays. The result of this research is a prototype that, when a disruption in the traffic light or an unsafe traffic situation is detected, AWSTRAL will automatically activate warning displays located around the intersection. The warning displays will inform drivers of unsafe conditions and provide instructions on actions to be taken, such as stopping or proceeding with caution. The use of AWSTRAL will help reduce the risk of traffic accidents and improve road safety. Additionally, by providing automatic warnings, AWSTRAL will help optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion at intersections.
