Abstract

Strong family economic resilience requires solid financial skills, especially for housewives. This community service program aimed to enhance the financial life skills (FLS) of housewives in the Mekar Arum PKK Group, RW 16 Bojongsoang-Bandung, using a Community-Based Learning (CBL) approach. The program was implemented through workshops and interactive simulation games covering financial literacy, household financial management, business development, capital management, investment risks, and insurance. The impact of the program was analyzed using a paired t-test to measure differences in participants' understanding before and after the training. The results showed that FLS training significantly improved the financial literacy of participants. An R square value of 72.93% indicates the training's contribution to enhancing participants' knowledge and understanding of household financial literacy. This program effectively equips housewives with financial skills that support family economic resilience and holds the potential for replication in other community groups.

Abstract

Learning media plays a crucial role in supporting the educational process, especially in the 21st century, which demands technological innovation. Based on observations and interviews with teachers at SMAIT Al-Fityan, it was identified that while they have utilized digital media such as videos and PowerPoint presentations, they lack experience in creating or using augmented reality (AR)-based learning media. To address this gap, a training program was conducted to enhance teachers’ skills in integrating advanced technology into their teaching practices by creating AR-based flash cards. The training program included several stages: pre-test, training on AR-based flash card creation, hands-on practice with mentoring, and evaluation through post-test and response questionnaires. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in teachers’ abilities, with the average pre-test score of 20 increasing to 80 in the post-test. Furthermore, response questionnaires showed that 72.7% of participants rated the training material as easy to implement (good category). These findings indicate that the training successfully enhanced teachers’ competencies in creating technology-based learning media, which is expected to support innovative and interactive teaching aligned with 21st-century demands.

Abstract

The lack of understanding and skills in utilizing limited land for productive activities has caused women in RT 4 RW 8 Cibangunkidul, Tasikmalaya City, to rely solely on the family head’s income. This community service program aims to empower the community through hydroponic farming education to improve family health and economic conditions. The implementation methods consisted of three stages: (1) Preparation Stage, involving situational analysis and problem identification; (2) Implementation Stage, covering education on seeding, nursery management, harvesting, as well as health and entrepreneurship training based on hydroponic products; and (3) Evaluation Stage, using pre-tests and post-tests to measure participants' knowledge improvement. The evaluation results indicated a significant increase in participants' understanding of hydroponic farming (83.4%) and the health benefits of hydroponic vegetables (77.8%). In addition to technical understanding, the program encouraged participants to apply their knowledge in daily practices, potentially enhancing family income and improving dietary habits. Thus, this empowerment program has proven to have a positive impact on the community’s economic and health conditions.

Abstract

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are a global health threat, causing high morbidity and mortality rates worldwide, including in Indonesia. The Special Region of Yogyakarta ranks second nationally in the prevalence of NCDs. One of the preventive and control measures for NCDs is through Integrated NCD Posts (Posbindu PTM), targeting individuals aged 15 to 49 years. Recognizing the importance of involving adolescents in NCD prevention and control, this community service program aims to provide education and training for adolescents on NCDs and risk factor detection. The activities were conducted using lecture and roleplay methods, involving 12 adolescents as active participants. Participants were given an understanding of the functions and importance of Posbindu PTM, as well as strategies for preventing and controlling NCDs. During the training, participants took turns practicing as Posbindu PTM cadres, performing duties according to procedures at stations one through five. Evaluation results indicated a significant increase in participants' knowledge, with the average score improving from 71.6 to 87.5. It is expected that adolescents' involvement in this program can strengthen early detection and control efforts for NCD risk factors.

Abstract

Progressive mobilization is a stepwise intervention provided to critically ill patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) to support the recovery of hemodynamic status through physical activities such as head-of-bed (HOB) elevation and range-of-motion (ROM) exercises. This intervention is an essential part of nursing care plans in the ICU. This community service program aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of nursing students in implementing progressive mobilization for ICU patients. The program utilized interactive lectures and question-and-answer sessions delivered through educational media such as slide presentations and the Zoom Meeting platform. Evaluation results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants' understanding. Before the training, the pre-test revealed that 60% (97 participants) had limited knowledge of progressive mobilization techniques. After the training, the post-test showed that 90% (146 participants) had a proper understanding of these techniques.

Abstract

The lack of public knowledge regarding online medicine purchases for minor ailments is the main concern of this program. According to BPOM data in 2021, online medicine purchases increased by 480% during the Covid-19 pandemic, reflecting the growing public need for online access to medications. However, this surge comes with the risk of purchasing errors that could jeopardize health. To address this issue, a digital education program was conducted at Rusun Mawar Penjaringan to enhance public knowledge and awareness about safe and correct online medicine purchases. The program utilized interactive lectures and questionnaires. Participants underwent a pre-test to measure their initial understanding of online medicine purchases, followed by a post-test after the education session to evaluate knowledge improvement. Results showed a significant increase, with 70.5% of participants correctly answering post-test questions compared to their pre-test results. This program not only contributes to improving public digital health literacy but also serves as a preliminary step toward fostering awareness of safe and appropriate online medicine purchasing practices.

Abstract

Indonesia ranks fifth among countries with the highest percentage of students experiencing bullying, according to data from the 2018 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). Approximately 41.1% of students in Indonesia reported being victims of bullying, a significant figure considering the severe impact of bullying on mental health, individual productivity, and the core values of education and humanity. In response to this issue, a community service program focusing on the socialization of bullying prevention among children was conducted at Aisyiyah PRA Panggungharjo III Sewon Bantul. The program aimed to enhance the understanding of Aisyiyah members, particularly mothers, to enable them to act as key agents in breaking the cycle of bullying through active roles in their families and communities. The program involved a series of stages, including preparation, socialization sessions featuring material presentations and interactive discussions, and evaluation through pre- and post-tests. The evaluation results demonstrated an increased understanding and awareness of bullying among participants, as reflected in the improved post-test scores compared to the pre-test.
