Jurnal ini diterbitkan dua kali dalam setahun (Juli dan Desember). Abstract

Kawasan mangrove Kampung Kayu Ara Permai, Kecamatan Sungai Apit, Kabupaten Siak telah berkembang menjadi destinasi ekowisata berbasis konservasi swadaya masyarakat, namun pemahaman ilmiah tentang kondisi ekologis aktualnya masih belum memadai. Penelitian ini mengkaji komposisi floristik, struktur dan stratifikasi tegakan, dominansi spesies, keanekaragaman ekologi, serta pola zonasi vegetasi mangrove di kawasan tersebut menggunakan metode plot tunggal berukuran 10×10 m sebanyak 27 plot yang tersebar pada tiga zona komunitas. Inventarisasi mencatat 35 entri taksonomi yang terdiri atas 34 spesies teridentifikasi, dengan 21 spesies mangrove sejati (61,8%) dan 13 spesies mangrove asosiasi (38,2%). Famili Rhizophoraceae mendominasi dengan enam takson, dan Sonneratia ovata berstatus Near Threatened (NT-IUCN) tercatat hadir dalam plot. Kerapatan bervariasi sangat tajam antarstrata: semai 16.060 ind./ha, pohon 2.519 ind./ha, dan pancang 1.121 ind./ha, dengan rasio semai–pancang 14,3:1 yang mengindikasikan tekanan saringan ekologis pada fase transisi pertumbuhan. Sebanyak 89,0% individu pohon terkonsentrasi pada kelas diameter 4–20 cm dan 75,7% berada di bawah ketinggian 10 m, mencerminkan tegakan yang aktif beregenerasi namun belum matang secara struktural. Dominansi spesies bersifat life-stage specific, dengan Rhizophora apiculata memimpin pada strata pohon (INP 71,79) dan semai (INP 64,62), sementara Scyphiphora hydrophyllacea dan Bruguiera gymnorrhiza menjadi komponen paling penting pada strata pancang. Nilai Shannon-Wiener berkisar antara H' = 1,62 hingga 2,22 dengan kemerataan yang menurun dan dominansi yang meningkat pada strata yang lebih muda. Pola zonasi tidak mengikuti gradien linear seaward–landward, melainkan terbentuk sebagai mosaik komunitas dengan kekayaan spesies tertinggi pada zona belakang yang diduga dipicu oleh abrasi fisik dan dinamika hidrodinamika lokal. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pendekatan multi-strata dan pemantauan berbasis ekologi merupakan fondasi yang tidak dapat dihindari dalam pengelolaan kawasan mangrove yang berkelanjutan

Abstract

Marble goby (Oxyeleotris marmorata) production relies heavily on wild catches, creating a need for feed-efficient domestication strategies to support sustainable aquaculture. This study evaluated the feeding rate (FR), feed conversion ratio (FCR), specific growth rate (SGR), and survival of marble goby reared in tarpaulin ponds. Fifteen fish were cultured for 56 days in three ponds, with five fish per pond, and fed twice daily with chopped fresh trash fish to apparent satiation. The data were assessed descriptively and using quadratic polynomial regression. The mean FR ranged from 1.30 to 1.75% biomass day⁻¹, cumulative FCR from 6.53 to 10.67, and cumulative SGR from 0.19 to 0.26% day⁻¹. Pond 1 showed the most balanced performance, with an FCR of 6.53, biomass gain of 154 g, and 100% survival, whereas Pond 2 experienced 40% mortality. The FR–SGR relationship followed a quadratic pattern, with a stationary point at 1.45% biomass day⁻¹ (R² = 0.3804). This value represents an efficient feeding range rather than a definitive optimum. Controlled feeding in tarpaulin ponds supports early-stage domestication and may reduce dependence on wild marble goby stocks.

Abstract

Feed costs and organic waste accumulation remain major constraints to efficient and sustainable catfish farming, creating the need to evaluate fermented quail manure bokashi as an alternative feed ingredient. This study assessed the most effective bokashi formulation for absolute length gain, absolute weight gain, and survival of juvenile Clarias gariepinus. Fish were reared for 60 days in a completely randomized design comprising four treatments with three replicates: 100% commercial pellets (P0), 100% bokashi (P1), 25% bokashi and 75% rice bran (P2), and 75% bokashi and 25% rice bran (P3). Among the bokashi-based diets, P3 produced the best performance, with an absolute length gain of 10.60 cm, an absolute weight gain of 55.33 g, and a survival rate of 95.00%. Dietary treatments did not significantly affect length or weight gain (p > 0.05) but significantly influenced survival (p < 0.001). The mean temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen were 29°C, 7.19, and 5.46 mg L⁻¹, respectively, indicating suitable rearing conditions. Therefore, the P3 formulation offers potential as an organic-waste-based feed alternative, although it cannot yet fully replace commercial pellets and requires further evaluation of feed efficiency, nutrient retention, and waste balance.

Abstract

The motan fish (Thynnichthys thynnoides) is one of the economically important fish species found in the waters of the Kampar River, including Lake Karangan, Rantau Baru Village, Pangkalan Kerinci Sub-district, Pelalawan Regency. Fishing activities that take place almost year-round, coupled with the use of fishing gear with relatively small mesh sizes, are thought to place pressure on motan fish stocks. This study aims to analyse biological parameters and determine the exploitation status of the motan fish in Lake Karangan. The research was conducted from January to March 2026 using a survey method involving sampling of fishermen’s catches. Population parameter analysis was performed using the FISAT II software, whilst the exploitation status was analysed using the Length-Based Spawning Potential Ratio (LB-SPR) method. A total of 242 motan fish were collected, ranging in length from 95–169 mm. The results of the study indicate that motan fish exhibit a negative allometric growth pattern with a b-value of 2.8205. The growth parameters obtained were asymptotic length (L∞) 175.35 mm, growth coefficient (K) 0.610 per year, and t0 of -0.31 years. The values for total mortality (Z), natural mortality (M), fishing mortality (F), and exploitation rate (E) were 2.50; 0.82; 1.69; and 0.67 per year, respectively. The results of the LB-SPR analysis indicate a first-capture length (SL50) of 105.92 mm, a first-maturity length (Lm50) of 109 mm, and a Spawning Potential Ratio (SPR) of 16%. These values indicate that the exploitation status of motan fish in Lake Karangan is in the ‘over-exploited’ category; therefore, management efforts are required through the regulation of catch sizes and the use of more selective fishing gear to support the sustainability of motan fish stocks.
