Abstract

Kelimpahan fitoplankton menunjukkan tingkat produktivitas perairan. Dalam upaya pemanfaatan sumberdaya hayati estuari Sungai Siak, diperlukan kajian kondisi komunitas dan kelimpahan fitoplankton serta hubungannya dengan kondisi oseanografi yang menggambarkan produktivitas perairannya. Untuk itu, telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai hubungan antara kelimpahan dan sebaran spasial-temporal fitoplankton dengan parameter oseanografi di estuari Sungai Siak. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara in-situ di 16 titik sampling pada April, Mei, Juni, Agustus, September, Oktober dan November 2015. Hasil penelitian menemukan 54 genera dari 3 kelas yaitu Chyanophyceae, Dinophyceae dan Bacilliriophycaea. Kelas Bacilliriophycaea merupakan yang dominan (85%) dengan jenis yang terbanyak dan selalu ditemukan di setiap stasiun adalah Chaetoceros dan Rhizosolenia. Kelimpahan fitoplankton tergolong sedang, dengan kelimpahan tertinggi pada Juni dan Oktober serta terendah April. Indeks keanekaragaman (H?) dan indeks keseragaman (E) tergolong tinggi masing-masing 4,39-5,46 dan 0,83-0,94, sementara indeks dominansi (D) termasuk kategori rendah (0,03-0,16). Indeks komunitas ini menunjukkan fitoplankton di perairan ini keanekaragaman dan kestabilan komunitasnya sedang dan tidak ada spesies yang mendominasi. Uji korelasi menunjukkan terdapat keterkaitan yang erat antara kelimpahan dengan Oksigen (0,667); salinitas (0,663), kecerahan (0,628); pH (0,472); arus (0,283); dan suhu (0,046). Komponen utama oseanografi perairan ini  mempengaruhi secara signifikan (75%) dengan selang kepercayaan 95%. Meskipun tingkat kecerahan perairan dan kandungan Oksigen  terlarut tergolong rendah, namun parameter oseanografi lainnya seperti suhu, salinitas dan pH masih berada pada kisaran yang masih dapat mendukung kehidupan fitoplankton di estuari Sungai Siak.

Abstract

Community structure of macrozoobentos in estuary of Banyuasin important as based of knowledge about bioindicator environtment. The aim of this research was to examine the community structure of macrozoobenthos in estuaries Banyuasin river of South Sumatra. This research conducted by field survey method. Field sampling was selected by purposive random sampling. Macrozoobenthos samples were taken using ekman grab. Further silt that is picked up from the tool was filtered using a filter to separate from the mud. Samples was inserted into the bottle sampel and then identifyed in the laboratory. Results showed that the highest density of macrozoobenthos occured in Oktober and the lowest in April. Diversity of macrozoobenthos based on index Shannon-Wiener average of all station showed a value of 1< H’ < 3. There were significant differences (P<0,05) at each sampling month and the highest value found in June amounting to 1,82. The value of uniformity during the research as seen from the difference in observation time was low. For environtmental quality criteria based on the diversity index Shannon-Wiener showed that the value of IML is 1,62 which means that in the area in the station that is contaminated with medium level.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pola sebaran, kelimpahan dan struktur komunitas zooplankton di perairan estuari Sungai Siak. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama tujuh bulan (April-Nopember 2015) dengan jumlah stasiun pengambilan sampel sebanyak 16 titik. Hasil penghitungan dianalisis lebih lanjut untuk mengetahui pola sebaran, jumlah jenis, kelimpahan, indeks keanekaragaman, indeks dominasi dan indeks keseragaman. Hasil analisis data, diperoleh jumlah jenis zooplankton yang ditemukan sebanyak 21 jenis terdiri dari kelompok Crustacea sebanyak 8 jenis, Ciliata sebanyak 11 jenis dan Sarcodina sebanyak 2 jenis. Kelimpahan zooplankton di masing-masing stasiun pengamatan berkisar antara 1.570-38.512 ind/m3. Struktur komunitas zooplankton di muara Sungai Siak ditandai dengan indeks keanekaragaman yang tinggi (>3), keseragaman tinggi dan indek dominansi yang rendah. Terdapat dua jenis zooplankton dominan di estuari Sungai Siak yaitu Tintinnopsis radix dan Leprotintinnus nordgvisti masing-masing ditemukan pada November dan Juni. Kelimpahan zooplankton dipengaruhi tingkat kecerahan perairan. Pada saat kecerahan rendah, jumlah jenis zooplankton di perairan ini sangat rendah. Secara umum, kondisi lingkungan perairan estuari Sungai Siak masih mendukung kehidupan zooplankton.

Abstract

Research on fish fauna in peat swamp was conducted in May 2005 representing dry season and in December 2005 representing rainy season as a mean to describe fish species living in peat swamp. Survey location was in Sababilah Lake, Raya Lake and Ganting Lake. There were 56 species in Sababilah Lake, 27 species in Raya Lake and 51 species in Ganting Lake. Each lake had typical species i.e. Cyclocheilichthys janthochir in Raya Lake, Hemirhampodhon tengah, Luciocephalus pulcher, Ompok weberi and Mystus olyroides in Sababilah Lake. Dominant species were Channa pleuropthalmus in Raya Lake, Belontia hasselti, Channa bankanensis) in Sababilah Lake, and Leptobarbus melanopterus Key and Thynnichthys polylepis) in Ganting Lake.

Abstract

Study on biology reproduction was expected to give basic information for management, such as for aquaculture, capture fisheries and conservation of P. polyuranodon in Musi river. Sampling were conducted on June 2006, August 2006, January 2007, and July 2007 in Musi river by using gillnet. Data analysis included length-weight relationship, sex ratio, condition factor, gonad maturity stage, Gonadosomatic Index (GSI), fecundity, and spawning type. Total number of collected P. polyuranodon was 51, consisted of 23 male and 28 female. Total length of fish was ranged in 85–511 mm. Length-weight relationship of male and female was W = 0.00002L2.8062 and W = 0.0002L2.8215 respectively. The result from t-test analysis showed that both of sexes have allometric negative growth. Sex ratio thoroughly was balance (1:1). Mean of factor condition relatively increased by the increasing of gonad maturity stage. At that time P. polyuranodon was entering spawning time. June and August was predicted as the spawning time of this species. Gonadosomatic index of female was much higher than the male. Fecundity of female was ranged between 616 and 7,059. Based on distribution of egg diameter, this species was total spawner.

Abstract

Riset mengenai biologi ikan buntal pisang (Lagocephalus lunaris) dilakukan tahun 2007 di Sungai Musi. Tujuan riset yaitu untuk mengetahui karakteristik biologi yang meliputi distribusi panjang dan bobot ikan, hubungan panjang bobot, komposisi jenis makanan (menggunakan index of preponderance). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hubungan antara ukuran panjang dan bobot tubuh Ikan buntal pisang (Lagocephalus lunaris) menunjukkan allometrik negatif (b<3) yang berarti pertambahan panjang lebih cepat daripada pertambahan bobot tubuh. Ikan buntal pisang (Lagocephalus lunaris) merupakan ikan karnivor yang makanan utamanya udang kecil (Crustacea). Research on biology of Lagocephalus lunaris was carried out in 2007 at Musi River. The purpose of the study is to know about biological characteristic such as distribution of length weight, relationship between length and weight, composition of the food (index of preponderance). The result shows that relationship between length and weight of Lagocephalus lunaris was negative allometrik (b<3), it means that the increase of length was faster than weight Lagocephalus lunaris was a carnivorous which the primary food is small shrimp (Crustacea).

Abstract

Sungai Musi merupakan sungai besar mengaliri wilayah Sumatera Selatan, Lampung, dan Bengkulu , dan bervariasi dalam pemanfaatannya, khususnya di bagian hilir, didominasi oleh kegiatan industri yang membuang limbahnya ke Sungai Musi. Kajian pengaruh industri terhadap Sungai Musi telah dilakukan, namun sebatas analisis fisik dan kimia lingkungan dan belum mengarah kepada pengaruhnya terhadap organisme air. Organisme air adalah indikator penting perubahan lingkungan karena organisme khususnya organisme dasar (benthos) menyimpan sejarah proses-proses terjadi di perairan. Riset yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas perairan Sungai Musi bagian hilir ditinjau dari karakteristik fisik dan kimia dan struktur makrozoobenthos telah dilakukan di Sungai Musi, Sumatera Selatan pada bulan Mei dan September 2006. Riset dilakukan bersifat survei lapangan. Delapan stasiun ditentukan di Sungai Musi bagian hilir berdasarkan pada perbedaan mikrohabitat. Stasiun riset masing masing antara lain Sejagung, Pulokerto, Jembatan Ampera, Sebokor, Pulau Burung, Upang, Pulau Payung, dan Sungsang. Pada masing masing stasiun, dilakukan pengambilan contoh air untuk parameter fisika, kimia, dan makrobenthos. Contoh air diambil dari atas perahu motor pada kedalaman 1,0 m dari permukaan air dengan menggunakan kemmerer water sampler. Sebagian contoh dianalisis di lapangan (suhu, pH, dan oksigen terlarut) dan sebagian lagi yaitu jumlah padatan tersesuspensi (total suspended solids), jumlah padatan terlarut (total dissolved solids), jumlah karbon organik (total organic carbon), organik karbon terlarut (dissolved organic carbon), konsumsi oksigen biologi (biochemical oxygen demand), nitrat, dan fosfat dianalisis di laboratorium kimia. Contoh makrozoobenthos diambil pada 10 titik di masing-masing stasiun, dengan menggunakan ekman dredge dengan bukaan mulut 400 cm2. Contoh makrobenthos pada masingmasing titik tersebut disortir dengan menggunakan saringan dan kemudian digabungkan (dikomposit) dan diawetkan dengan formalin 10%. Data kualitas air dianalisis dengan principle component analysis dan kelimpahan makrozoobenthos dianalisis dengan analisis cluster. Kualitas perairan di Sungai Musi bagian hilir dikelompokkan atas 2 yang mengalami tekanan berat yaitu dari Sejagung sampai dengan Pulau Burung dan tekanan ringan yaitu dari Upang sampai dengan Muara Sungai Musi. Kelompok pertama dicirikan oleh nilai konsentrasi total dissolved solids, total organic carbon, dan dissolved organic carbon yang tinggi diiringi dengan kelimpahan makrozoobenhthos yang rendah serta didominasi oleh Tubifex sp. Kelompok ke-2 dari Upang sampai dengan Muara Sungai Musi dicirikan oleh nilai konsentrasi total suspended solids yang tinggi, dengan kelimpahan makrozoobenthos yang tinggi dan didominasi oleh Gammarus. Musi River is a large river , crossing three provinces, South Sumatra, Lampung and Bengkulu, and differeing in types and levels of its resources ultization, particularly at the down stream of Musi River, mostly dominated by industries activities producing a waste which flows to the river. Several studies on the effect of industries on the Musi River have been conducted , however , limmieted on physical dan chemical aspects of the water, not yet to evaluate its effect on aquatic organism. Aquatic organism such macrozoobenthos is important indicator of environmental changes since this organism records the history of processes occurred in the water. Study to assess water quality of the down stream Musi River based on physical, chemical water characteristics and macrozoobenthos community structure was conducted at may and september 2006 in Musi River located in South Sumatera Province of Indonesia. The study used inventory field survey. Eight sampling sites; Sejagung, Pulokerto, Jembatan Ampera, Sebokor, Pulau Burung, Upang, Pulau Payung, and Sungsang were selected based on the microhabitat difference. water sampling for physical and chemical parameters and sediment, and  macrozoobenthos were carried in each sampling site. Water sample was collected at a depth of 1.0 m from the water surface by using kemmerer water sampler. Some water quality parameters such as temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen) were directly analyzed in the field, while the others such as total suspended solids, total dissolved solids, total organic carbon, dissolved organic carbon, biochemical oxygen demand, nitrate, and phosphate were analyzed in laboratory. Macrozoobenthos was collected at ten sampling points in each sampling sites using Ekman Dredge of 400 cm2 mouth opening. Macrozoobenthos from ten sampling points was composited, sorted and preserved with formalin 10%. Water quality parameters were analyzed with principle component analysis while macrozoobenthos abundance was analyzed with cluster. Results revealed that water quality at the down stream Musi River was classified into two groups. The first group was the heavy degraded sites from Sejagung to Pulau Burung, characterized by having high concentration of total dissolved solids, total organic carbon, and dissolved organic carbon, low abundance of macrozoobenthos with Tubifex sp. as the dominant species. The second group was light degraded sites from Upang to the mouth of Musi River, characterized by high concentration of total suspended solids and high macrozoobenthos abundance with Gammarus sp. as the dominant species.
