Abstract

Compliance with the Public Finance Management Act is essential for the whole South African government. Nevertheless, the South African Auditor General has found non-compliance since most ministries within the provincial administration of Limpopo still violate the PFMA. Some of the non-compliance may lead to serious misstatements and, eventually, an AGSA qualified audit opinion. Noncompliance has a negative impact on the general population since it can occasionally lead to compromises in the quality of services provided by government bodies. The study assessed how personnel in departments of the province of Limpopo contributed to PFMA non-compliance. The study used an interview guide to gather the primary data and adhered to the qualitative research methodology. Purposive sampling was used to choose study participants based on their expertise with PFMA compliance across the province of Limpopo's various departments. Future PFMA compliance may be enhanced by the practical recommendations and ideas that the study generated. The study's consequences included identifying the problems that impact compliance in the public sector and providing recommendations for how to resolve them. Other aspects of the South African government are also impacted by the study's conclusions, such as the enhancement of PFMA compliance in the Limpopo public service administration.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is the effect of the use of Augmented Reality (AR) media on student learning outcomes in science subjects for class X at SMA Muhammadiyah Lempangang, Bajeng District, Gowa Regency. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the use of Augmented Reality (AR) media on student learning outcomes in science subjects for class X as intended. The type of research used in this study is a quantitative research type with an experimental method approach (pre-experiment), a one group pretest-posttest model. The analysis technique is in the form of Descriptive & Inferential statistics with the help of SPSS. The subjects in this study were 15 students of class X at SMA Muhammadiyah Lempangang, Bajeng District, Gowa Regency. Based on the results of the study, the results of inferential analysis with calculations using SPSS version 26, showed that the pretest and posttest data had met the normality test. It is a prerequisite test before conducting a hypothesis test. The pretest and posttest data were normally distributed because the p value ≥ α = 0.05. The inferential analysis shows that student learning outcomes are normally distributed (sig. > 0.05). The results also indicate that Augmented Reality (AR) media positively influences science learning outcomes of grade X students at SMA Muhammadiyah Lempangang. This is supported by a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of environmental awareness, green lifestyle, influencer credibility, and social media engagement on slow fashion purchase intentions among Generation Z on TikTok. The massive fast fashion industry contributes to environmental problems, with significant clothing waste in Indonesia. Slow fashion offers sustainable solutions, but its implementation remains limited. Generation Z, as primary consumers of fast fashion and active TikTok users, has the potential to be a driver of change. Using quantitative methods on 200 Generation Z respondents in Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) who were exposed to slow fashion content on TikTok, the results show that environmental awareness positively influences slow fashion purchase intentions and green lifestyle. Influencer credibility increases social media engagement, which in turn influences green lifestyle and purchase intentions. However, green lifestyle does not directly influence slow fashion purchase intentions, as Generation Z may prioritize mindful clothing consumption (e.g., capsule wardrobes) over simply purchasing new products. Influencer credibility also does not directly influence purchase intentions, possibly due to skepticism of promotional content or a lack of influencer expertise in sustainable fashion. In conclusion, increasing environmental awareness and engaging social media engagement are crucial to driving slow fashion purchase intentions among Generation Z. Marketing strategies must go beyond influencer credibility alone to effectively drive purchases. This research provides valuable insights into understanding consumer behavior and desires.

Abstract

In an era of increasingly competitive beauty industry, consumer purchasing interest has become a crucial factor in business sustainability. This research is motivated by the decline in sales of Skintific products at Joni Cosmetic Tegal Store over the past three years, which is suspected to be related to declining consumer purchasing interest. This phenomenon prompted the researcher to examine three factors thought to influence consumer purchasing interest: the role of celebrity endorsers, electronic word of mouth (eWOM), and brand image. This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of celebrity endorsers, electronic word of mouth (eWOM), and brand image on purchase intention for Skintific products at Joni Cosmetic Tegal Store, both partially and simultaneously. This research is explanatory. Data were collected through a purposive stratified random sample using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed with multiple linear regression via SPSS. The results showed that the three independent variables, celebrity endorsers, eWOM, and brand image, had a positive and significant effect, both partially and simultaneously, on consumer purchase intention. This finding demonstrates that marketing strategies involving public figures and digital information are highly influential in driving consumer purchasing decisions, particularly in the beauty industry. The study concludes that celebrity endorsers, positive consumer reviews, and strong brand image boost purchase intention for Skintific products at Joni Cosmetic Store, Tegal. Businesses are advised to maximize social media, partner with suitable public figures, and enhance brand image through consistent messaging and quality service.

Abstract

In today’s competitive era of globalization, the quality of human resources has become a critical factor in determining a company’s sustainability and performance. This study aims to examine the effect of the work environment and work motivation on employee performance, with Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) serving as a mediating variable at CV. Mahaprima Textile. The research adopts a quantitative approach with an explanatory design, utilizing a census sampling technique by distributing structured questionnaires to all employees, totaling 68 respondents. Data were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method. The findings reveal that while the work environment has a positive but statistically insignificant effect on employee performance, it exerts a positive and significant influence on OCB. Similarly, work motivation shows a positive yet insignificant effect on performance, but has a significant positive impact on OCB. Furthermore, OCB has a significant effect on employee performance and is found to fully mediate the relationship between the work environment and employee performance, as well as partially mediate the relationship between work motivation and performance. These results underscore the pivotal role of OCB in enhancing the impact of the work environment and work motivation on employee performance.

Abstract

Governance and democracy in African states are shaped by a complex interplay of historical legacies, structural constraints, and socio-political dynamics. This study critically analyzes the state of democracy and governance in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and Ghana, focusing on challenges such as electoral irregularities, weak institutions, and corruption, alongside successes like vibrant civil societies and constitutional reforms. Employing a qualitative approach, the research integrates a critical literature review with comparative case study analysis, drawing on archival research, policy documents, election data, and civil society reports. Findings reveal persistent barriers to democratic consolidation, including centralized power and economic dependency, but also highlight governance innovations, such as Kenya’s devolution and Ghana’s electoral stability. The role of external factors, including international donors and the African Union, is both enabling and contentious. These insights underscore the need for context-sensitive democratic reforms that balance universal principles with local realities. The study contributes to academic discourse by challenging narratives of uniform democratic failure and informs policy by recommending strengthened electoral commissions, support for civil society, and hybrid governance models. Future research should explore digital activism and youth engagement to further advance African democratic practices (Bauer & Burnet, 2013; Ncube, 2021).

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of transformational leadership, job satisfaction, and burnout on turnover intention among Generation Z employees in Indonesian start-up companies. Utilizing a quantitative research approach with 150 respondents from fintech, e-commerce, and logistics start-ups in Jakarta and Bandung, data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that transformational leadership significantly enhances job satisfaction and reduces burnout, but it does not directly affect turnover intention. Burnout significantly increases turnover intention, while job satisfaction does not serve as a significant mediator in the relationship between transformational leadership or burnout and turnover intention. These results highlight burnout as a critical factor driving employee turnover and suggest that leadership strategies alone are insufficient to retain Gen Z talent. The study underscores the importance of addressing emotional well-being, work-life balance, and organizational support systems to mitigate turnover in high-pressure start-up environments.

Abstract

Child grooming in the digital realm, particularly through online gaming platforms, has evolved into a complex and systematic form of cybercrime. This study aims to examine the phenomenon of child grooming in the online gaming world from a media criminology perspective, focusing on predatory communication patterns, the dynamics of psychological manipulation of children, and systemic weaknesses in digital child protection regulations in Indonesia. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data was obtained through literature studies, analysis of reports from institutions such as UNICEF, ECPAT, and the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI), and articles from national online media. The findings indicate that groomers utilize interactive game features such as voice chat, text chat, and virtual gifts to create emotional closeness, build trust, and ultimately exploit children. Legal loopholes are found in the absence of explicit articles related to the pre-exploitation (grooming) stage in the Child Protection Law and the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law. Furthermore, content moderation on digital platforms is not yet responsive to the manipulative interactions that precede sexual crimes. Within the media criminology framework, child grooming is understood as a crime amplified by technological infrastructure, social algorithms, and regulatory failures. This study recommends amending laws, strengthening AI-based moderation, curriculum-based digital literacy, and cross-border cooperation as strategic steps to stem the escalation of sexual crimes against children in cyberspace.
