Abstract

One of Baitul Huda Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (elementary school) missions was to instill the habit of Qur'an reading. Thus, daily Qur'an reading activities were implemented in the school. Students who have not been able to read the Qur'an or are older than 12 years old must join the Qur'an reading - writing (BTQ) activity which uses Yanbua method. The purpose of this research is to characterize fifth-grade students' Arabic reading abilities acquired in conjunction with BTQ activities at Baitul Huda elementary school. It was expected that students who followed Yanbua method would improve their Arabic reading abilities, especially reading aloud skill. This research shows that Baitul Huda elementary school employed online and face-to-face Arabic learning methods since the COVID-19 epidemic. In addition, while the fifth graders have an excellent Arabic reading capacity, a few students read Arabic texts with a bit of stutter. Finally, the results of reading skills tests that correlate with BTQ learning indicated that 89.2 percent of students passed and 10.8 percent did not meet the minimal score, indicating that the proportion of BTQ learning positively affects students' Arabic reading ability.

Abstract

The Covid-19 epidemic has altered the entire educational system. Teachers must provide instruction and learning materials remotely using electronic learning mediums. This study aims to explore Arabic lecturers' perception of pandemic-sensitive learning material development using semi-structured online interviews with five Arabic language instructors at an Islamic University in Central Java, followed by email interviews. The findings showed two primary strategies for developing pandemic-adaptive materials, including harnessing one's creativity and resources and student collaboration. Abstract

The most often discussed topics concerning nahw (Arabic grammar) are ism (noun), fi’il (verb), and hurf (letter). Fi'il (verb) can be classified into māḍī, muḍāriʿ, and amar. As well as past (māḍī), present (muḍāriʿ), and future (mustaqbal). The study of time in Arabic is critical. The purpose of this study is to examine fiil māḍī using a content analysis method. This study reported that Arabic grammarians (Nuḥāt) have diverse opinions on time in fiʿil māḍī, particularly to state implications in the current and future time, an argument that is bolstered by the fact that the Assyrian language also uses it. In Arabic, the term fiʿil ghayr tām (Muḍāriʿ) refers to both present and future events. The researchers suggested to use several reading methods to improve students' Arabic understanding, including Al-Qirā'ah al-Muwassaʿah (Extensive Reading), Al-Fahm al-Qirā'ī (Reading Comprehension) and Al-Qirā'ah al-Nāqidah (Critical Reading).

Abstract

Every language has its own phonetic characteristics, including Arabic and Indonesian. However, interactions between communities can influence the development and change of language. This influence can be observed through vocabulary that is borrowed and modified from other languages, known as loanwords. In this study, the library research method was used to search and process information. The main sources used were the Arabic-Indonesian Dictionary by Mahmud Yunus and the Al-Munawwir Dictionary by Ahmad Warson Munawwir and Muhammad Fairuz. Meanwhile, secondary data was taken from the Indonesian Language Dictionary (KBBI). Based on the study, it is concluded that the borrowing of words from Arabic to Indonesian undergoes many modifications that are adjusted to the dialect of Indonesian speakers. The borrowing process starts from the spoken language, which is then transformed into the written language. Arabic loanwords in Indonesian have both positive and negative impacts on the learning process. The positive impact is that the presence of loanwords can help facilitate the learning process of other words. This impact can be felt if the sound and usage of the word remain unchanged. Negative impacts can occur if the sound and usage of the word undergo changes and modifications, making it difficult for students to understand the original sound and usage of the word in Arabic.

Abstract

Speaking skills are one of the competencies taught in Arabic language learning. Students' mastery of Arabic is influenced by various factors during the learning process. Apart from internal factors, there are also external factors that play a significant role in achieving learning objectives. One of the external factors in Arabic language learning is the teaching methods employed in the classroom. The objective of this research is to examine the effectiveness of the ḥiwār method in enhancing the speaking skills of grade II students at Ulumul Qur'an College Takengon in Central Aceh. This study employed a quantitative research design utilizing quasi-experimental methods. The findings demonstrated that the t-value exceeds the t-critical value; 2.17 > 2.07. Therefore, the ḥiwār method is an effective approach to enhance the speaking skills of grade II students at Ulum al-Quran College Takengon. Future research may explore the effectiveness of other teaching methods in improving Arabic speaking skills among students.
