Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of commodification of content, audiences, and workers on the @lambe_turah Instagram account. Using Vincent Mosco's commodification theory, the approach used is a qualitative descriptive approach. The results of the study show that there is indirect exploitation and commodification of content, audiences, and workers towards the followers of the Instagram account @lambe_turah. Exploitation and commodification occur smoothly because almost all followers of the @lambe_turah account will voluntarily help spread information in virtual communities on Instagram.

Abstract

In studying in higher education to get a bachelor's degree that students want to achieve, they are required to make an ilimiah or Thesis paper. Students who compile the thesis experience stress because they are unable to overcome the challenges they face. It is caused by internal causes and external causes, internal causes there is a level of ability and level of student intelligence. Then the insistence of the family, the demands of the campus, and financial problems are the external causes. Therefore, students need a supervisor to complete the thesis, a form of solving the problem, namely good communication between students and supervisors so that the relationship between students and good thesis supervisors can facilitate student tasks in compiling a thesis. Based on the type of data obtained in this study, the authors used quantitative methods using descriptive research methods to describe the results of the research conducted. In this study the authors used questionnaires as a tool to collect data. Then the data obtained were analyzed using validity tests, reability tests, normality tests, heteroskedasity tests, simple linear regression analysis, t (partial) tests and determinant tests with the help of SPSS Application version 22. With a total population of 100 students and a sample of 50 respondents. From the results of the analysis carried out by researchers, it can be concluded that there is an influence of Communication Relations Interpersonal Student Supervisor to Psychological Pressure in Compiling a Thesis, this means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted

Abstract

This research uses a qualitative descriptive design. The population of this study were lecturers and students at the University of Indonesia Maju. The informant selection technique used purposive sampling, including key informants for the Coordinator of the Bachelor of Communication Studies Study Program, and informants supporting lecturers and students. Collecting data using observation, interviews, documentation. The research data analysis technique is Milies and Huberman. The results of research on learning systems between lecturers and students at the University of Indonesia Maju use online systems such as Google Classroom, Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, and so on. This online learning system, is a pattern of communication relationships between lecturers and students who are still facing problems that are not easy because of the gap between what is expected and the results that can be achieved from the educational process. Joseph A. De Vito communication of wheel patterns, chain patterns, circle patterns, y patterns and overall patterns (All Channel). Application of communication patterns between lecturers and students, this should increase student motivation to learning, but the fact is that this communication pattern is still not going well, the impact can be a decrease in student learning motivation during online lectures.The conclusion in this study, the pattern of communication between lecturers and communication science students at the Indonesia Maju University in an effort to increase student learning motivation during online lectures, is still has not gone well. The suggestion for this research is that it is necessary to have the right communication strategy, related to the learning methods conveyed to students can be well understood and accepted. The target output of this research is in the form of research results published in nationally accredited journals. Organization Communication courses.

Abstract

Various phenomena with the nuances of conflict that have caused thousands of victims have hit the eastern part of the world, such as what happened in Palestine and Syria, in addition to this, humanitarian violence has also occurred in Asian blocs, such as the Chinese Uighurs. Meanwhile, in the country itself, various natural disasters that occurred in Indonesia also felt victims. The occurrence of these various phenomena moved the hearts of women or known as activists so that they formed an organization, namely Golden Future, which took part in and helped victims of conflicts in the international sphere or victims of disasters that occurred in the national sphere. This study aims to find out the motives of Golden Future women activists in carrying out humanitarian aid activities, as well as knowing the meaning of humanitarian assistance for Golden Future women activists. The method used in this study is qualitative with a constructivism perspective and a phenomenological approach. The results of this study indicate that the first motive is the way to heaven according to Islamic law, the second motive is the realm of practicing knowledge, and the third is a driving force. And the meaning of humanitarian aid for women activists is to reach heaven, as the spearhead of civilization and a facility to awaken others.

Abstract

The main key component in presenting information in the mass media is the gatekeeper. Gatekeeper is the spearhead of information before it is finally applied to the mass media. Gatekeepers are also responsible for ensuring that the information to be conveyed is quality information, believed to be true, feasible, and indeed important to convey to the public. Meanwhile, the presence of social media makes the existence of gatekeepers pseudoscientific. Social media that can be operated by any individual without having a specific institution is of particular concern. This research was conducted using a literature study approach by reviewing previous research. The data presented focuses on a systematic explanation of the facts obtained about the literature review and the results of previous studies that have relevance to this study. As a result, the Gatekeeper Function in today's era of social media exposure finds its relevance to the audience's active involvement in selecting and filtering the information they upload or will receive directly. In addition, the gatekeeper function carried out by social media refers to a design that is taken in the process of filtering information for the audience through codes that have been formulated in each platform. Codes are taken or decided through a screening process carried out by internal media parties taking into account community values and norms.

Abstract

Virtual communication that occurs between Ragnarok X: Next Generation game players occurs when they are members of a guild. The diversity of cultures and social structures creates many communication gaps between players. This study aims to determine the process of virtual communication that occurs between different ROX players. This research uses the methodvirtual ethnography with a qualitative approach in reaching the world of online game players. The players communicate via WhatsApp and the Discord application, but the players don't talk about the technicalities of the game, they discuss things outside the game so there's no dispute. ROX players do not experience deindividuation such as loss of self-awareness, self-change where players distance themselves from the group. It can be concluded that not all online games have a bad impact on individuals depending on the individual's response to playing these online games. The suggestion from this research is that online game players don't experience deindividuation, they can focus ongame however, when in the real world the player becomes himself, not a character in the online game.
