The aim of this journal is to publish articles dedicated to all aspects of the latest outstanding developments in the field of counseling . Its scope counseling in education, Sections include research, assessment, supervision in counseling, Islamic Counseling, health counseling, sexual abuse, violence addition counseling, multi-cultural counseling, crisis intervention, trauma counseling, ITC in counseling, counseling career, spiritual counseling, Islamic marriage and family counseling, Islamic counseling and psychotherapy. Papers published in twice a year (June and December): (1) evaluation reports and research findings; (2) conceptual and methodological issues; and/or (3) implications of the above for action; and/or (4) an extensive book reviews section and also occasional reports on counseling and educational materials and equipment.

Abstract

Academic burnout is often associated with various academic issues that impact students' learning performance. One way to address this academic pressure is through coping strategies, which are individual efforts to manage or deal with problems and stress. This study measures coping strategies through three types: problem-focused coping, emotion-focused coping, and maladaptive coping. The study aims to analyze the differences in academic burnout levels among IAIN Langsa students based on demographics and coping strategies employed. The research method used is descriptive inferential quantitative, with incidental sampling techniques applied to 372 student participants. Data analysis was conducted using two-way ANOVA. The results indicate significant differences in students' academic burnout levels based on demographics and coping strategies, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). These findings suggest that the coping strategies used by students, particularly maladaptive coping, have a substantial influence on the level of academic burnout experienced. Therefore, it is essential to encourage the use of more adaptive coping strategies to mitigate the effects of burnout among students.

Abstract

Speech delay is a delay in language or speech development. Motivation is the basis for students to achieve maximum learning outcomes. Teachers also have several roles, one of which is as motivators. Teachers provide motivation and encouragement to their students in achieving learning success. This study used a qualitative method with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with one teacher and two students with speech delays. Meanwhile, secondary data were obtained from books, scientific papers, and other documents to answer all the questions in this study. The data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that the role of teachers, especially for children with speech delays, is very important and has a significant influence on the growth and development of these children. One of these roles is as a motivator for children with speech delays. A good teacher for children with special needs is one who can teach and guide their students to achieve their desired goals. Therefore, do good so that you will be treated well by your students, and do not discriminate against any of them.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan fokus pada studi kasus. Tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami Quarter Life Crisis (QLC) yang dialami oleh individu. Metode pengumpulan data yang diterapkan meliputi wawancara, konseling, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seorang siswa berusia 20 tahun yang mengalami krisis seperempat kehidupan. Tujuan utamanya adalah untuk mengidentifikasi penyebabnya, seperti tekanan yang disebabkan oleh harapan pribadi, kebiasaan membandingkan diri dengan orang lain, dan reaksi berlebihan terhadap kritik. Pendekatan ini dipilih agar klien memahami dan menerima diri mereka sendiri tanpa tekanan eksternal atau internal. Tujuan konseling dalam hal ini adalah untuk membantu klien mengatasi krisis kuartal kehidupan, dengan penekanan pada pemahaman dan penerimaan diri mereka sendiri, membantu klien mengenali dan memahami emosi, keyakinan, dan harapan yang membebani mereka, dan membantu klien menemukan kembali tujuan dan makna hidup. Hasil konseling menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan pada kondisi klien, yang dapat menerima diri dengan segala kekuatan dan kelemahannya, dan mengurangi kebiasaan membandingkan diri dengan orang lain, klien juga berhasil membangun rutinitas yang lebih teratur, memperbaiki pola tidur, dan mulai terhubung kembali dengan hubungan sosial mereka.

Abstract

The consumptive behavior experienced by female high school students leads them to purchase unnecessary, less necessary, or inappropriate items. This results in money wastage, the formation of reference groups, and the creation of false needs. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between consumptive behavior and the independent variables of self-esteem and self-image. The subjects of this study were 99 tenth-grade female students at SMA Negeri 12 Banjarmasin. The researchers used Pearson product-moment hypothesis testing and multiple correlation analysis with SPSS 21. The results of the Pearson product-moment significance test and the two-way significance multiple correlation analysis were 0.000, and the F change significance was 0.000, meaning sig. < 0.05, indicating a significant relationship between the variables. The Pearson correlation for variable X1 with Y and variable X2 with Y was 0.576 & 0.569, both indicating a fairly strong correlation. The multiple correlation between X1 & X2 with Y was 0.596, indicating a fairly strong correlation among the three variables. Abstract

A comprehensive understanding of client issues is a crucial foundation in effective guidance and counseling practices. This article aims to examine four major conceptual models used to understand the psychological dynamics of clients, namely the psychodynamic, affective, cognitive-behavioral (REBT), and multimodal approaches. Using a qualitative method through library research, this article presents a descriptive-analytical analysis of the characteristics of each model, the identified root causes of client problems, and their practical implications for the counseling process. The study highlights that each model offers unique perspectives on the origins of psychological issues and corresponding intervention strategies. Therefore, counselors are expected to demonstrate flexibility and integrative skills in designing holistic and contextual services tailored to the specific needs of clients.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi analisis pengaruh konten video digital terhadap pola bicara dan perilaku imitasi pada kalangan usia anak hingga remaja. Kajian litceratur ini menggunakan pendekatan metode SLR (Systematic Literature Review) dengan menelusuri serta meninjau 13 artikel ilmiah publikasi rentang tahun 2015 hingga 2025. Proses peninjauan artikel meliputi identifikasi, evaluasi, dan interpretasi data. Hasil studi literatur mengindikasikan bahwa paparan konten video digital, terutama yang diakses melalui platform media sosial memberikan dampak berarti terhadap pola bicara dan kecenderungan perilaku imitasi pada anak dan remaja. Media digital memberi ruang bebas bagi kreativitas dan pembelajaran sosial, namun juga mendorong tindakan meniru, ekspresi, dan kemampuan komunikasi yang tidak selalu sejalan dengan norma sosial maupun norma budaya. Kesimpulannya, eksposur konten video digital memiliki peran ganda, yaitu sebagai sarana pembelajaran dan kreativitas sekaligus sebagai sumber perilaku imitasi pembentuk pola komunikasi pada anak dan remaja. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendampingan dan pengawasan langsung dari orang tua serta peningkatan literasi digital yang berkelanjutan untuk mendorong penggunaan media yang positif.

Abstract

Anak usia dini mengalami perkembangan kognitif yang pesat pada tahap pra-operasional, di mana anak mulai mengenal angka melalui aktivitas bermain menjadi metode menyenangkan yang memungkinkan mereka belajar sambil bereksplorasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan dan menguji kelayakan permainan bola angka ceria sebagai media yang layak dan efektif dalam pengenalan angka pada anak usia dini tahap pra-operasional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) untuk mengembangkan media permainan "Bola Angka Ceria" bagi anak usia dini. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan dokumentasi untuk menilai partisipasi anak selama bermain. Prosedur penelitian mencakup perencanaan, pengembangan media. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Permainan Bola Angka Ceria mampu meningkatkan minat, keterlibatan, dan pemahaman anak dalam mengenal angka 1-10 secara interaktif dan menyenangkan. Media Permainan Bola Angka Ceria terbukti layak dan efektif sebagai sarana pembelajaran yang meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif dan partisipasi aktif anak usia dini. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan media pembelajaran inovatif yang menggabungkan konsep angka dan warna melalui aktivitas bermain untuk anak usia dini.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the high academic demands faced by first-semester Master’s students in Islamic Education (PAI), who are required to adapt to an intensive learning rhythm, complex theoretical readings, and dual roles as both students and working professionals. The objectives of this study are to examine: (1) the forms of academic stress experienced by first-semester PAI Master’s students in Class C; (2) the sources and contributing factors of their academic stress; and (3) the coping strategies employed to manage academic stress. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach using purposive sampling, involving a number of Master’s students in Islamic Education Class C who have direct experience with academic stress. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive analysis model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the forms of academic stress experienced by the students include emotional symptoms (anxiety, fear of incompetence, and feelings of inferiority), physical symptoms (sleep disturbances, fatigue, and headaches), and behavioral symptoms (procrastination, difficulty concentrating, and task avoidance). The primary sources and contributing factors of academic stress stem from heavy coursework and reading loads, adaptation to lecturers’ teaching styles and expectations, dual roles as students and workers, internal factors (perfectionism and self-doubt), as well as expectations of religious commitment as Islamic Education students. The coping strategies employed are integrative in nature, combining problem-focused coping (such as scheduling and prioritization, and seeking academic support), emotion-focused coping (sharing concerns, resting, and engaging in enjoyable activities), and spiritual coping (prayer, ritual worship, Qur’anic recitation, remembrance of God, and trust in God). These findings highlight the importance of strengthening academic management skills, emotional regulation, and spiritual mentoring to support the adaptation of first- semester Master’s students in Islamic Education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penanganan perilaku konsumsi minuman keras pada siswa SMA melalui layanan konseling kelompok dengan pendekatan Islami. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus pada dua siswa kelas X SMA Al-Hasra yang terbukti membawa dan mengonsumsi minuman keras di lingkungan sekolah. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Proses penanganan dilakukan melalui konseling kelompok dengan pendekatan Islami yang menekankan edukasi keagamaan, refleksi moral, dan terapi spiritual berupa shalat taubat, istighfar, serta komitmen tertulis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perubahan sikap dan perilaku siswa setelah mengikuti konseling, ditandai dengan meningkatnya kesadaran moral, kedisiplinan, dan keterlibatan dalam kegiatan keagamaan sekolah. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa konseling kelompok dengan pendekatan Islami efektif dalam menangani perilaku konsumsi minuman keras pada siswa SMA.

Abstract

The low level of critical thinking skills among students is a significant challenge in modern education. This study aims to determine the effect of group guidance services using sociodrama techniques on increasing the critical thinking skills of students at SMP Negeri 9 Bandar Lampung. This research uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method (One Group Pretest-Posttest Design). The population in this study were students of class VIII, with a sample of 10 students selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out using a critical thinking skill scale based on Ennis' indicators. Data analysis used the Paired Sample T-Test. The results showed a significant increase in the mean score from 75.60 (pretest) to 110.40 (posttest). Statistical analysis obtained a t-value of 16.232 with a significance of 0.000 < 0.05. It can be concluded that the sociodrama technique in group guidance is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills, especially in aspects of focus, reason, and inference.
