Abstract

Students have different characteristics and backgrounds. One way for teachers to meet the learning needs of students who have different characteristics is to apply the Novick learning model. This research aims to increase student activity and learning outcomes through the Novick learning model on flat-sided geometric material. This research is classroom action research (PTK) with four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects in this research were 24 students in class VIII A of MTs Al Jauhar. The research results showed an increase in the weight value of student activities in the initial condition of 11 or 24,75 to 20 or 45,00% in cycle I, then increased to 27 or 60,75% in cycle II, and again increased to 35 or 97,22% in cycle III. Then from the results of the average value of the conditions initial 62,1 to 70,41 in cycle I, then increased to 73,75 in cycle II, and increased again to 85 in cycle III. This research appears to be a process of increasing activity and results from student learning from before the action, after the action in cycle I, cycle II, and cycle III in learning using the Novick learning model in the classroom after going through 3 cycles. The results of this research state that there is an increase in student activity and learning outcomes when implementing the Novick learning model.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a PISA-Like mathematical literacy test based on Yogyakarta socio-culture that is valid, practical and effective. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Plomp development model. The subjects of this study were 18 students of class VIII of SMP Teladan Yogyakarta. The instruments used included validation sheets, teacher response questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and test instruments. The results of the study showed: (1) the expert validation results obtained a V-Aiken value of 0.75 with a fairly valid category, (2) There were 7 valid and reliable questions, (3) The teacher's response was very good with a score of 50.67, (4) Student responses to test questions obtained 78% of students obtained a score of 38.1 with a good to excellent category, and (5) 72% of students obtained a mathematical literacy test score with a sufficient to good category. Based on the overall data analysis, it can be concluded that the development of a mathematical literacy test instrument based on PISA-Like with the socio-cultural context of Yogyakarta is declared valid, practical, and effective for measuring the mathematical literacy of class VIII students of SMP Teladan Yogyakarta at the prediction level 3.

Abstract

This study aims to produce valid and practical minimum competency assessment instrument. This study uses the research and development (R&D) of the ADDIE model. The subjects of this study consisted of 32 students in grades VIII SMP Negeri 1 Anyar. The instruments used consisted of expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and minimum competency assessment instrument. The data analysis techniques in this study are quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. Based on the results of research and development of the minimum numeracy competency assessment instrument in the uncertainty and data domain for junior high schools, it was concluded that two questions were very valid, five questions were valid, and one question was invalid. Based on the power of differentiation, invalid questions can be revised or do not need to be used.  Meanwhile, the results of the student response questionnaire were obtained by 84%, meaning that it included very practical criteria with 83% for the content aspect, 80% for the construction aspect, and 90% for the language aspect. Thus, this minimum competency assessment instrument can be used in mathematics learning.

Abstract

One mathematical idea that is present in a culture is ethnomathematics. Learning and the outcomes of mathematics education will be greatly impacted by the presence of mathematicians with cultural subtleties. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how the traditional engklek game affects class V students' learning outcomes in mathematics. This study uses a pre-experimental design and is quantitative in nature. Pretest, posttest, documentation questions, and direct literature reviews of participants were the tools utilized in this study. The Normality Test, Hypothesis Test, and N-Gain Test were among the data analysis methods used in the interim. The study's findings demonstrate that the classic game of engklek has an impact and can enhance fifth-grade students' learning outcomes in mathematics.

Abstract

Vocational high school students need the ability to think creatively to face the challenges of the world of work in the 21st century. Creative thinking skills can be developed through open ended problem solving and problem posing activities. This study aims to describe the creative thinking skills of vocational students in solving and posing open ended problems on sequences and series material. This study uses a type of qualitative research. The subjects of this study were students of class X Office Management 1 (MP-1) at SMK Negeri 1 Geger for the 2022/2023 academic year. Data collection techniques using tests and interviews. Testing the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. Data analysis includes data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are: Vocational school students' creative thinking abilities in solving open-ended problems include indikators of fluency, flexibility and novelty. Novelty is the least likely to appear. Vocational school students' creative thinking abilities in posing open-ended problems include indikators of fluency and flexibility, while indikators of novelty have not yet appeared in posing problems. When posing problems, vocational school students tend to be inspired by previously solved problems. Based on the results of this research, teachers are expected to be able to present open-ended problems in learning so that students' creative thinking abilities can develop well.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical understanding ability of students regarding the concept of definite integral based on APOS Theory, and describe the achievement of each indikator of students' mathematical understanding ability regarding the concept of definite integral of algebraic functions based on APOS Theory. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data collection techniques used in this study were written tests and interviews. The results showed that the achievement in question number one on the K indikator 88.89%, L 83.33% and S 69.44%, most of the students who were able to solve the problem meant that they had been able to organise the actions, processes, and objects they had so that based on APOS theory, the student was at the level of understanding the scheme. Achievement in question number two on indikator K 80.55%, L 58.33% and S 50%. Most students are only able to identify properties and conditions, meaning that students only have the ability to understand at the action stage. Achievement in question number two on indikator K 86.11%, L 66.67% and S 63.88%. Most students are only able to identify properties and conditions and work on problems according to the steps.
