Abstract

Students errors are actually provide resources for teaching. Using students error, lecturer can emphasized certain concept while teaching, especially those concepts which make students confused. One of the teaching method that use students error is erroneous example. In this article, we developed a certain task using erroenous example method. The task consists of 10 question. Each question is made to tackle students understanding about a concept that is often mistaken by students. For each question, we give a correct/incorrect worked example, then students are asked to find the mistakes (if it is incorrect) or justify the steps (if it is correct). This study is a descriptive qualitative study that aims to describe the task and students response after doing the task. The method of collecting data was using observation, documentation, and interview. The results shows us that erroneous example task can be categorized difficult for students. However, it is also proved that it can be used to supporting students mathematics communication.

Abstract

This objective of this study is to improve student learning outcome on mathematics using the Google Meet Application in class X MIPA 3 SMA 1 Tawangsari, with 36 students which consist of 8 male and 28 female students. The technique of collecting data uses tests. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. From the analizes, it can be seen from the increase in student learning outcomes from the pra siklus, siklus I to siklus II. This can be concluded that the use of the Google Meet application can improve student learning outcomes in mathematics in class X MIPA 3 SMA 1 Tawangsari.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine students' responses to learning in the network (online) in mathematics. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection technique is questionnaire. The questionnaire consisted of positive and negative statements totaling 20 statements. The questionnaire is distributed via Googleform. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The subjects are 29 students of Class XI MIPA 1 of SMA Negeri 1 Weru in the academic year 2019/2020. The result shows that the average percentage of student responses in mathematics received positive criteria. With the average percentage of students' responses to the first indicator, namely interest of 83.62% so it is included in the positive criteria. In the second indicator, motivation is 74.14% so it is included in the positive criteria. The third indicator is satisfaction at 80.17% so it is included in the positive criteria. In the fourth indicator, interest is 73.49% so it is included in the positive criteria. And the fifth indicator is the response of 75.43% so it is included in the positive criteria.

Abstract

This research aims to identified and obtain a description metacognition skill components of students in SMA Al-Azhar Mandiri Palu to solving mathematical problem about linear program based on the level of mathematical ability of the students. The type of this research is qualitative research. The subject of this research is the students of class XII D SMA-Al-Azhar Mandiri Palu who have high, medium and low math ability. Data were collected by video recording, test method and interview. The results of this study indicate that subjects with high math ability, namely NF has a complete metacognition skill components that is prediction, planning, monitoring, and evaluation with regular and repetitive patterns. Subjects with medium math ability, namely HN also has a complete metacognition skill components that is prediction, planning, monitoring, and evaluation but the patterns is irregular and repetitive. And the subject of low math ability, namely TS has only three metacognition skill components that is prediction, planning, and evaluation with non-repetitive patterns.

Abstract

The objective of this classroom action research is to improve students' learning achievement of Mathematics through Discovery Learning Model in the class of VII during the 2nd semester at SMP Negeri 3 Sukoharjo in the academic year 2019/ 2020. This research is conducted from January to Juni 2020 at SMP Negeri 3 Sukoharjo. The subjects are 32 students of class VII G. This research is desaigned in two cycles. The data collection techniques are documentation, observation, and written tests. The data collection tools are observation sheets, test items, and score list documents. Analysis data use comparative descriptive analysis followed by reflection on each cycle consists of four steps, namely: (1) Planning, (2) Action Implementation, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The results of this research indicate the increasing in students’ mathematics learning achievement. It can be seen from the average of learning achievement score of mathematics subjects, where the average score before action is 64,5, the average score of the first cycle is 72,3 and average score of the second cycle is 80,2. In addition, the percentage of students' learning mastery increase, before the action of 40,6%, in the first cycle of 68,8% and in the second cycle of 90,6%. So, it can be concluded that the Discovery Learning can improve the learning process and the mathematics learning achievement in the class VII G during the 2nd semester at SMP Negeri 3 Sukoharjo in the academic year 2019/ 2020.

Abstract

In learning probability theory, if a series of statistical experiments is carried out several times, identifying the possible samples produced is not an easy thing. If this happens, then a significant probability problem will arise. The objective of this study is how to learn probability theory using R software. Based on the simulation results it can be concluded that by combining the syntax in R can be used to solve probability problems such as identifying sample points from experiments, events, event operations, probabilities and conditional probabilities. This will help students learning in understanding of the probability theory material. The use of R will be very pronounced for experiments with a large enough scale that results in a large sample probability.

Abstract

In this study, the ability of mathematical reasoning is measured based on its indicators, namely, drawing logical conclusions, providing explanations with models, facts, characteristics or relationships, estimating answers and solution processes and formulating valid arguments. This type of research is qualitative research using a descriptive approach. The research was conducted at MTs Negeri 5 Merangin. The subjects used in this study were 3 students who were taken from class VII-B.The results showed that students who have mathematical reasoning abilities SKP-01 have been able to meet all indicators of mathematical reasoning abilities. SKP-02 students with mathematical reasoning abilities are unable to meet the indicators of compiling valid arguments. And SKP-03 students are not able to meet the indicators of estimating the answer and the solution process and the indicators compile valid arguments. So the three subjects who have different mathematical reasoning abilities, have obstacles in fulfilling different mathematical ability indicators.Thus, efforts to improve children's abilities in learning mathematics, especially in their mathematical reasoning abilities, require the selection of appropriate learning methods, encouraging students to interact positively with fellow students and with teachers when learning, encouraging students to use logical reasoning in solving math problems.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how the level of sudent motivation in online learning in mathematics in class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Weru in the academic year 2019/2020 and to find out how students’ motivation to learn in each indicator. This research uses descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques used in this study in the form of a questionnaire. The result showed that the level of student motivation in online learning in mathematics in the class XI MIPA of SMA Negeri 1 Weru in academic year 2019/2020 was included in the medium category. With the percentage of students’ motivation in each indicator that is in indicator 1 (Perseverance in doing the assignment) of 66,53% so that it is included in the sufficient category, in indicator 2 (Resilient in facing difficulties) by 69,19% so that it is included in the sufficient category, at indicator 3 (Happy working independently) by 68,01% so that it is included in the sufficient category, in indicator 4 (There is encouragement and needs in learning) by 67,47% so it is included in the sufficient category, indicator 5 (Showing interest) 0f 55, 38% so it is included in the category of not good, in indicator 6 (Can maintain confidence) of 69,35% so that it is included in the sufficient category, in indicator 7 (Happy to find and solve answers to mathematical problems) of 64,11% so that it is included in enough categories.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the motivation to learn mathematics online on class XI SMA Negeri 1 Polokarto. The method is descriptive qualitative research. The subject is class XI SMA Negeri 1 Polokarto. The data collection technique is  questionnaire about online mathematics learning motivation. The results of the analysis in this study indicate that students are mostly motivated by learning mathematics online. This can be seen from the objective indicator of intrinsic orientation which has a percentage of 90.93% and the goal of extrinsic orientation which has a percentage of 73.14%.
