Abstract

In the industrialized world, low-carbon steel was often used as a construction material. One of the problems obtained in the low carbon steel welding process was its nature susceptible to shakes. The minimize the formation of residual voltage in the connection area (Heat Affected Zone) can be done by the Post Weld Heat Treatment (PWHT) process The purpose of this study was to find out the effect caused by variations in heat treatment on heating steel ASTM A36 (Holding Time) to penetrant tests and determine the suitable temperature given to ASTM A36 steel after the welding process. The PWHT process was carried out with several variations of Holding Time, namely 1 hour, 2 hours, and 3 hours at 400 °C. Based on penetrant testing showed that the best value in Holding Time was 3 hours with no appearance of porosity defects

Abstract

Steel products are needed to support thedevelopment of the manufacturing industry andother strategic industries in Indonesia. Thesteel industry is one of the contributors to CO2 gas emissions, which contributes about 15percent of greenhouse gases (GHG). PT. XYZ,which is one of the largest steel industries inIndonesia, produces CO2 waste from thereduction process in the exhaust gas by anaverage of 20 tons/hour to produce its steel. This study aims to utilize CO2 waste in exhaustgas into liquid CO2 so that its utilization canreduce CO2 emissions to the environment.Waste minimization by PT. XYZ is by recyclingCO2 waste into liquid CO2 with CO2 Purification technology. Liquid CO2 is usefulin various industries such as the manufactureof carbonated beverages, food and beveragepreservation, and the welding industry. Wasteminimization has resulted in a 10% reductionin CO2 emissions by an average of 10%. Themagnitude of this decrease is influenced by thelimited production capacity and storage tankcapacity. The results of the study also showthat the variables that are considered for theuse of CO2 emissions are the purity of CO2,raw gas CO2.

Abstract

Oil contamination from field drilling waste is aserious environmental problem worldwide. These oil contaminants must be removed tomaintain biodiversity and ecological balance.Bioremediation is a soil cleaning technique thatutilizes the metabolic ability of microorganismsto degrade soil contaminants. The use of nativebacteria producing biosurfactants andutilization of hydrocarbons increases theeffectiveness of bioremediation by makinghydrocarbons bioavailable for degradation.Determination of bioremediation microorganisms affects the degradationprocess of petroleum. This is because eachmicroorganism requires a specific substrate toreduce all the components of petroleum in thesoil. A deeper approach is needed to obtain theeffectiveness of microorganisms, bothnonindigenous and indigenous microorganismsthat are applied by researchers in degradingpetroleum. However, not all available journalsummaries provide a detailed explanation ofthe method and effectiveness of microorganisms in the bioremediation method. In this review, we will provide severalmicroorganisms and methods used inbioremediation, including adsorptive bioremediation, biopile, in-situ bioremediation, landfarming, biostimulation, and composting inorder to find the most effective method in thepetroleum bioremediation process.

Abstract

Fishing boats are vessels that almost 90% ofthe building materials are made of wood. Thenature of wood that is easily weathered andattacked by wood destroying organisms causesfishing vessels with wood materials to be easilydamaged. Banana trees are plants that thrivein Indonesia. In addition to the fruit, bananatree leaves are the part that is often used forreprocessing. However, the midrib of the treecannot be utilized optimally and will becomeunused waste. Therefore, the author has aninnovation using banana midrib fiber as acomposite material as a wood ship laminationmaterial. Therefore, researchers need to do atest, namely by tensile test of variations in fiberthickness of 1 layer, 2 layers, 3 layers on abanana midrib fiber composite and polyesterresin to measure the tensile strength value ofthe composite which refers to the ASTM 63802astandard.

Abstract

SDN Bungur 03 is a public elementary school in Jakarta, precisely in Central Jakarta, where there is a section that takes care of graduates or alumni of the school, namely administrators who are in charge of recording data on graduates or alumni of this school. The process has several problems, namely the data collection process for graduates or alumni who still use paper as an alumni data file, and in the data collection process alumni still have to come directly to the school to fill in the alumni data where the alumni are already busy with activities at school. campus or at work that does not allow alumni to fill in or update alumni data at school. In defining the needs and analysis and system design for the company, data collection methods are needed by means of literature study, observation, interviews, design, and testing. For the method of analysis and the concept of information systems, the unifeld modeling language (UML) model is used. The results of this thesis writing will build a web-based information system which is expected to be able to deal with the problems that exist on the school side and the alumni. This skill information system that is owned by every human being is made using the PHP programming language, MySQL database. With the alumni information system at Bungur 03 Elementary School, it can handle complaints experienced by the school and alumni in the running system process. For example, there is an alumni data collection report and an alumni data form in the form of forms, thereby reducing the use of paper on the forms and attached files.

Abstract

Bottled mineral water has become a daily necessity for Indonesians for its practicality. The raw material used in mineral water packaging is plastic because the price is cheaper, and the characteristics of it are strong and lightweight when compared to other polymers. However, the plastic waste produced is difficult to be decomposed by microorganisms in the soil, causing environmental pollution. There have been many researches on the production of environmentally friendly plastic packaging. One of the raw materials used is alginate because it contains ester compounds which are the required for making biodegradable plastics. The alginate compound contained in seaweed is a polysaccharide obtained from the extraction of brown seaweed such as Sargassum sp which is found in Indonesian waters. Gel formation can be done by diffusion with the spherification method. This method is the simplest technique, where the gel is formed by diffusion of calcium ions into the alginate solution. The results showed that sodium alginate derived from seaweed can be used as a raw material in the production of mineral water packaging that can be consumed by using the spherification techniques. The packaging product which is shaped like a bubble is safe for consumption and is biodegradable

Abstract

The “E” well to be drilled is a development well in the “P” field located in the North Sumatra Basin. During the drilling operation in well “E” using HPWBM, HPWBM is used to overcome shale instability. This water-based mud is used because it is cheaper and more economical than using oil-based mud. However, this mud needs to be added with other chemicals because HPWBM has a weakness in controlling shale formation. The mud system design for the “E” well uses the offset well method, which uses data from nearby wells for comparison. Well “E” is divided into two intervals. Hole interval 12 1/4" with 9 5/8" casing from 24 m to 290 m depth using HPWBM. Then proceed with 8 1/2" hole intervals with 7" casing from 290 m to 530 m depth using the same mud. The problem this well will face is pressure at a depth of 500 m, thus increasing the mud density from 12 ppg to 14 ppg to prevent kick.
