Procedia Studi Kasus dan Intervensi Psikologi (Procedia) merupakan publikasi berkala yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi Magister Psikologi Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. Procedia terbit mulai tahun 2013, terbit 4 kali setahun pada Maret, Juni, September dan Desember dalam bentuk elektronik/online. Artikel Procedia merupakan artikel hasil penelitian intervensi atau laporan praktik keprofesian psikologi. Abstract

The subject is a child with ADHD disorder with problems of lack of concentration and attention that is easily distracted. This affects performance in school and schoolwork that is not completed. Sensory Motor Play was done to improve the concentration of subjects so that their performance in school becomes better. This intervention uses a wide variety of games so that the subject was not easily bored and involves physical activity. The results of the intervention found that the concentration of the subject increased which was characterized by several completed tasks, showed the behavior of being able to wait in line and be able to control their voice.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a chronic  mental disorder characterized by hallucinations, delusions, withdrawal from the  social environment and failure of life functions.  Self-care in schizophrenic patient  becomes a serious problem and if it is left untreated, it will worsen  the patient’s situation. This case study aimed to improve self-care of schizophrenic patient by utilizing the positive reinforcement. Psychological assessment used  was interviews, observations, grafis test, wartegg, SPM, and WWQ. The intervention  was given using a behaviour therapist with Skinner’s approach which consisted of 7 sessions. The subject was male,  aged 31 years old. The intervention revealed a positive result,  i.e., the subject became more  active to take care  of himself properly  starting  from brushing his teeth, watering all parts  of his body, and wearing  outfit properly.

Abstract

Conduct disorder is a common and  highly destructive psychiatric disorder that  usually  appears in childhood or adolescence and is characterized by severe antisocial  and aggressive behavior.  In this case, the subject  often started physical fights, stole small items without facing a victim, often went out at night even though his parents prohibited him from starting  before  13 years old, often skipped school  starting  before  the age  of 13 years, and behavioral disorders causing significant stress or dysfunction. clinical social aspect. Meanwhile, learning motivation is defined as a process in which goal-directed learning  activities are initiated and maintained. Subjects have  low learning  motivation which is indicated  by the absence of perseverance to do assignments, lack of interest  in learning,  lack of independence to do assignments, lack of appreciation in learning, and  lack of confidence and  pleasure in solving problems in lessons. The  assessment methods used were  interviews, observation, Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS), graphic tests (DAP, BAUM, HTP), Saks Sentence  Completion Test  (SSCT), and  self reports. The intervention used is self management. The result of the intervention is that the subject  has  been  able to improve the behavior  of doing the task from 0 times  to 3 times  in one  week.  Subjects were  also  able  to reduce the intensity  and  duration  of excessive play behavior from 4 times a week with a duration  of more  than 6 hours  per day, to 2 times a week with a duration  of 2-4 hours  per day.

Abstract

During the pandemic, learning at school is delivered by online. Online schools  make many students experience stress due to the burden  of the lessons. During this pandemic the learning methods provided by schools  are more difficult to understand. The purpose of this case study is to reduce the symptoms of stress in students by using group counseling. The assessment method  uses interviews, observation, and the Educational  Stress Scale  for Adolescents (ESSA). The subjects in this case were 5 teenagers aged  13 to 14 years  old. The subjects were junior high school students in class VII and class  VIII. All subjects live together in a boarding  school in Malang. Before the intervention,  the stress level of the subjects was in the high category. After the intervention  with group counseling decreased to a moderate level.

Abstract

Communication is one of the keys to establish interaction and solve various problems for husband and wife. Patterns of communication and interaction in couples can affect various aspects of life in the household. Communication patterns in couples determine the quality of the relationship between husband and  wife. When  communication is ineffective, other  problems arise such as the  emergence of negative judgments on partners which results in dissatisfaction with the  marriage. The purpose of this  study  is whether behavioral couple therapy is effective in improving  the communication patterns of married couples. Data  was collected by interview,  observation and  Dyadic  Adjustment Scale. The intervention  was carried  out in 5 stages; lasted for 2 weeks until follow-up. The results of the intervention showed an increase in communication patterns in couples which was marked by an increase in behavioral changes and changes in partner interaction  patterns.

Abstract

One  of the  dominant symptoms of Attention-Deficit  Hyperactivity  Disorder (ADHD) is the  presence of impulsive behavior which is a condition  of failure to control impulses to take certain actions. The assessment methods used were  clinical interviews, observation, The Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children  (WISC) and  Indonesian ADHD Rating  Scale (IARS) tests. The intervention provided is behavior modification  with reprimand and  token  economy techniques to reduce the behavior  of taking other people’s goods  without permission and forming behavior  asking  for permission. The results  of the intervention showed a decrease in the subject’s impulsive behavior  and the formation of new behavior, namely  asking  for permission

Abstract

Adolescence is a time when individuals are easily influenced by the environment. One of the environmental exposures during adolescence is the use of cigarettes. Not many teenagers are able to cope with environmental influences, thus creating a sense of conformity to smoking. The cause of adolescents not being able to overcome conformity is a lack of self-control when in situations that trigger smoking. The purpose of this study is to reduce smoking behavior in adolescents by increasing self-control when in situations that trigger smoking. Subjects consisted of four teenagers aged 16 -18 years old. The assessment method used are interview, observation, Glover-Nilsson Smoking Behavior Questionnaire (GN-SBQ) and self-report. The intervention technique used is group self-control therapy. The results of the intervention showed a gradual decrease in smoking behavior after each group member was able to apply self-control techniques when in situations that trigger smoking. The decrease in smoking behavior can occur because with self-control, each subject in the group can control the sense of conformity that triggers the subject to smoke.

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a mental illness that can interfere with a person’s thoughts and behaviour. The subject of this case study is a 34-year-old man who has had schizophrenia since 1 year ago. The purpose of this intervention is to increase self-esteem in the subject. The assessment methods used were clinical interviews, observation, and psychological tests, namely WWQ, Graphic, Wartegg, and WAIS. The intervention provided was Client-Centered Counseling which was conducted for 7 sessions. The results of the intervention showed that the subjects began to assess themselves more positively.

Abstract

The research subjects were 24-year-old men diagnosed with schizophrenia with a spectrum of other specific schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. The focus of the problem being intervened was self-care behaviour in terms of bathing and dressing. The intervention was carried out using a behavioristic approach through the Positive Reinforcement technique. The results of the intervention show that the Positive Reinforcement technique can improve self-care behaviour.

Abstract

The subject is 45 years old women who have been divorced since 2013. She has a problem in the form of negative thoughts that lead to symptoms of anxiety and always appear in her life. The assessment methods used were observation, interview, psychological test (WAIS, Graphic, SSCT, and Beck Anxiety Scale). The intervention given is Cognitive Therapy using Cognitive Restructuring techniques. The goal is to reduce the symptoms of anxiety experienced by the subject. After giving the intervention for 6 sessions, she was able to change her views and perceptions with more positive thoughts.
