Abstract

This research aimed to identify the need analysis of learning English for Nurses (EFN) for nursing students and to develop learning media by using powtoon application in teaching English for Nurses. The research employed research and development (R&D) design. It was used Sugiyono model consisted of potential and problem, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product testing, product revision, and massive production. The data were collected through questionnaires and interview. The learning videos were validated by expert judges and were also done field testing to the 42 nursing students. The data were analyzed descriptively qualitative. The result of the research showed that 1) 64.5% of the students would like to combine the material between general English and specific topics about nursing, 2) The developed learning video consisted of some parts such as opening, learning objectives, content, conversation, vocabularies, and closing. The result of expert judges both in media and material were 87.5% and 93.5% which were categorized as excellent materials. It is expected that the learning video can be applied in teaching and learning process.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of using e-learning with google classroom and learning discipline on the learning motivation of the students of brothers and sisters house in Surabaya city during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is quantitative. This study used proportional random sampling using the Slovin formula so that the sample amounted to 90 students. The data techniques used were questionnaires and interviews. Testing instruments in this study consisted of validity testing and reliability testing. This study's data analysis techniques are: 1) classical assumption test consisting of normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test; 2) hypothesis testing using multiple linear regression. The results of this study indicate that the use of e-learning with google classroom and learning discipline simultaneously have a significant influence on the learning motivation of the students of brothers and sisters house in Surabaya city during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of e-learning and learning readiness on learning interests through learning motivation as an intervening variable for flats scholarship students in Surabaya during the Covid-19 pandemic. The method used in this study is quantitative and the type of research is associative. The population of this study is flats scholarship students in Surabaya with a sample of 70 people. This research instrument uses questionnaires. Techniques for analyzing the data using path analysis or path analysis through the SmartPLS 3.0 program. The results of this study show that: 1) there is a significant influence between e-learning and student learning motivation; 2) there is an insignificant influence between e-learning and student learning interests; 3) there is a significant influence between learning readiness and student learning motivation; 4) there is a significant influence between learning readiness and student learning interests; 5) there is a significant influence between learning motivation and student learning interests; 6) there is an insignificant influence between e-learning and the interest in learning through student learning motivation; and 7) there is a significant influence between learning readiness and learning interests through student learning motivation.

Abstract

The aims of this study was to analyze the differences in the exposition writing skills of cadets who taught with the think-pair-share technique and reading interest cadets.This study used an experimental method, in which the experimental group was given treatment with the think-pair-share technique, while the control group was taught without the think-pair-share technique. The two groups were further differentiated based on groups with high and low reading interest. The population in this study were cadets’ level 1 in the first semester at the Cirebon Maritime Academy in the academic year of 2020/2021. The samples are cadets of Nautika 1 as the control class and cadets of Nautika 2 as the experimental class with 25 cadets each. Exposition writing ability data were collected through an exposition writing test while reading interest data were collected by filling out a reading interest questionnaire. The data analysis used was ANOVA with the help of the SPSS program.The conclusion in this study is that the exposition writing ability of cadets who have taught using the think-pair-share technique is better than cadets who taught without it. The exposition writing ability of cadets who have a high reading interest is better than cadets who have a low reading interest. There is an interaction between learning techniques and reading interest in influencing the ability to write exposition.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the suitability of the 21st-century learning methods, namely the flipped classroom method with the curriculum applied in Indonesia, the 2013 curriculum. The method used in this research is qualitative with a literature review as a data technique. Data collection was carried out by reviewing the relevant literature as the primary object. This study using descriptive qualitative analysis techniques. From the result of the literature study, it can be concluded that learning reverses the class according to the principles of learning in the 2013 curriculum. This can be seen from its application which is more student-centered. Besides, warning activities, asking questions, gathering information, associating and analyzing, and communicating can be implemented in flipped classroom learning based on the application of technology in it, so that students will have skills according to the 21st century.
