Abstract

The objectives of this study were: 1) the characteristics of the science-based learning module on the interaction between living things and the environment; 2) the feasibility of the science-based learning module on the material of the interaction of living things with the environment that has been developed in science learning; 3) the effectiveness of the science-based learning module on the interaction between living things and the environment. The research carried out is research and development (R&D). The development model implemented is the Four-D model adapted from Thiagarajan (1974) which consists of four stages including: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The subject of a limited trial was carried out on 9 students of class VII F at MTs Sabilurrosyad Barabali and a wide-scale trial was implemented for 30 students in class VII D at MTs Sabilurrosyad Barabali. The trial use used pre-experimental design type One-Shot Case Study. The analysis technique implemented is descriptive qualitative-quantitative. The results of the research show that: 1) the characteristics of the science-based learning module to improve critical thinking skills and learning outcomes on the interaction between living things and the environment have been successfully developed using the Four-D development model, 2) the module eligibility results are validated by expert validators, education practitioners, peers, and the responses given by educators and students after learning using modules, the results are that the modules are categorized as very good and feasible to be implemented in learning, 3) The effectiveness of the modules can be seen from a high level of readability and according to ability or mastery. Students' understanding of the module being developed, in this study, what was tested was the effectiveness of the module on critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes. The effectiveness of the module can be seen from the average percentage of students' high critical thinking skills in each learning activity, namely KB I 76, 97% in sufficient categories, KB II has increased 85.72% in good categories, and in KB III increased 89, 32% with good category. The average learning outcomes of students in the knowledge aspect of KB I-KBIII increased, with details in KB I 85% of students have reached KKM, KB II 83.34% of students have reached KKM, KB III 96.64% of students have reached KKM. the average student learning outcomes in the attitude aspect increased from KB I to KB III to 3.25 consecutively; 3.36; 3.47 with good criteria. The average skills aspect of the students' learning outcomes increased from KB I - KB III to 3.07; 3.30; 3.45 with good criteria. It can be concluded that the integrated science learning module is effective for improving critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The implementation of the 2013 Curriculum in Indonesia defines several cores, namely the application of an integrated thematic learning process, using a scientific approach in learning, and authentic assessment. Some of the results of previous research on the application of the 2013 Curriculum, among others, were found that teachers who are less able to utilize resources to learn from the natural surroundings and teachers tend to maintain conventional teaching habits. From that, through this research, the researcher wants to describe how the teacher's understanding of the scientific approach; how teachers make plans for implementing learning; how the teacher applies an approach that uses science in learning, and is there a contribution between understanding the scientific approach to the application of the learning process carried out by the teacher. The research method used is the Mixed Method Research model "Embedded Design". The results of this study can be concluded, namely: (1) In general, the teacher has understood the scientific approach, but has not understood how to implement this approach in learning in; (2) the lesson plan (RPP) made by the teacher has not been described in the implementation of learning activities oriented to a scientific approach; (3) The implementation of the learning carried out by the teacher does not reflect the application of the scientific approach; (4) Understanding the scientific approach contributes 13% to the implementation of learning. Therefore, to be able to apply a scientific approach is not only determined by understanding, but the teacher's efforts are needed to always seek other knowledge that can increase and increase self-efficacy.

Abstract

The mass media industry since the reform era has changed significantly, freedom of press had been widely opened, furthermore with technological advances and the birth of social media. Competitiveness in the mass media industry is tougher in market dominance. Media owners in Indonesia are competing to penetrate the market and secure their business positions by joining the politics, even the media itself is allegedly used by the owner as a commodity that can gain profit and become a propaganda’s tool for certain political interests. MNC Media Group is a media owned by Hary Tanoesoedibjo, a businessman and politician from the Perindo Party. Then, how does Hary Tanoesoedibjo commodify the MNC Media Group? Theory of Political Economy of Media, Vincent Moscow (1996) discusses the concept of commodification, explaining how the process of transforming goods and services with their use value into a policy that has an exchange rate in the market. The analysis by the author is to see at the relationships behind the production, consumption and distribution processes carried out by the MNC Media Group. Commodification of MNC Media Group is carried out through three types of commodification, namely; commodification of contents, audiences and workers. Commodification is made using the economy and politics by its owner, Hary Tanoesoedibjo which is carried out in the form of an integrated business unit, or a synergy between all business units, builing a positive image for the owner using legitimacy of the power relations.

Abstract

After the fire that occurred at the Cinere Bellevue Suites apartment in 2017, thus the company's image and the level of trust of its residents had been impacted. Role of Public Relations played important position as the backbone of the company and as a key figure to restore the company's image. Companies with good images in the eyes of consumers, its products and services are relatively more acceptable to consumers. This research focuses on the role of Public Relations in restoring the image of the Cinere Bellevue Suites apartment post the fire that happened in 2017 by using a qualitative approach whereas researchers use informants as the primary data source. In addition, company data also becomes secondary data that supports this study. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship with the theory used, namely the Adaptive Strategy theory and Image Restoration Theory. The theories states about adjustments to cases / issues that develop in companies experiencing a crisis that cannot be separated from the company's mistakes and negligence, all alone. Companies must have courage to admit mistakes and improve service quality and promises for better services. The company also made compromises, lobbied and negotiated with certain parties such as the victims by providing compensation, with the aim of getting the company's positive image back.

Abstract

The arrest operation (OTT) of the Corruption Eradication Commission against Kemenpora officials at the end of 2018 which then made government institutions back into the public spotlight. Corruption cases are always in the spotlight of the community. This case makes the Ministry of Youth and Sports through public relations must make appropriate strategies so that the image of this institution does not deteriorate or even be improved. This study discusses the strategies used by Kemenpora public relations in discussing public trust. This research uses a qualitative method by collecting data through documentation studies. This research is expected to be able to discuss other institutions that might discuss the same problem.

Abstract

This paper aims to examine the impact work from home (WFH) on the lecturer productivity of Politeknik Negeri Ambon. This research is need to be discussed because the increase of the productivity can be influenced by work from home. The population in this study were all lecturer at Politeknik Negeri Ambon with a total of 37 lecturers. The research design used is quantitative research with a descriptive approach with an emphasis on theory testing through measurement of research variables through the distribution of research questionnaires. The sampling technique used is nonprobability sampling with the technique taken is census. The analysis technique is to use linear regression with SPSS 21.0 software. Limitations: constraints of respondents who were asked for data virtually and limited scope of the research. Result: The results of this study show that work from home variable have a significant positive effect on the lecturer productivity partially.

Abstract

Pendidikan dan pelatihan yang dijalani calon kepala sekolah dalam kegiatan tatap muka (in servis-1) dalam kurun waktu 90 jam merupakan modal awal untuk menjalani praktek lapangan on the job learning (OJL) selama kurang lebih 200 jam. Kegiatan OJL penting bagi peserta diklat untuk mempraktekkan kompetensi yang telah dipelajari selama kegiatan tatap muka. Dalam OJL dipraktekkan bagaimana mengkaji pengelolaan kurikulum sekolah, RKAS/RKJM, pengelolaan keuangan, pembinaan tenaga administrasi sekolah, pengelolaan peserta didik, sarana dan prasarana, pengelolaan pendidikan dan tenaga kependidikan, pemanfaatan TIK, monitoring dan evaluasi serta program supervisi akademik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat dirumuskan beberapa kesimpulan, yakni (1) Kegiatan on the job learning meningkatkan kompetensi calon kepala sekolah dalam bidang Perencanaan Sekolah, pengelolaan kurikulum, pengelolaan pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan, sarana dan prasarana, pengelolaan peserta didik, pembinaan tenaga administrasi sekolah, pemanfaatan TIK, dan system monitoring dan evaluasi; (2) Kegiatan on the job learning merupakan solusi efektif dalam penyiapan calon kepala sekolah yang berkualitas.

Abstract

Games as tools in education is one of the media-based simulation designed to stimulate the existing problems, in order to obtain the essence of science that can be used to solve the problem. This research was conducted with the aim of increasing the learning motivation of elementary school (SD) children by utilizing educational games. The results of this study are expected to provide an alternative activity to play in learning process and cultivate children to skillfully handle the problem independently, encouraging teachers to be more creative in educating the children with media interest and in accordance with the children's development. This study used a quasi-experimental design. The data collection technique used was the test and observation guidelines. Implementation of research had been done in class III SD Plus Tigabalata Simalungun district. The research result showed that the activity of students in the learning was 84 which is very active. The result of learning process skills was 81, while learning completeness score was 88. The test results influenced the activity of the students’ learning motivation as big as 0,684. There was still 0,352 of variance which was influenced by other variables. The influence of skills in the learning process of students to the students test scores was 0,616. It means, there are other variables which influence the test scores as big as 0,384. Comparative tests between pretest and post-test (t test) was t = 12,2*, means that there was motivation to learn outcomes before and after implementation.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the implementation of the vision and mission of the school is less a reflection of the in shaping the culture of a good school, to the achievement of the goals of the school effectively. The purpose of this study was to determine the formulation of the vision and mission of the school is reflected in the culture of the school. The method used is qualitative research with descriptive approach exploratory. Population in this research is primary School Cluster Pasirjambu, Ciwidey, Bandung. Sampling technique in this research is purposive. The instrument used was a questionnaire, interviews, observation and analysis of documentation. Conclusion the results of the research are (1) Formulation of vision and mission that owned the school made with the editor that is clear, interesting, adapted to the conditions of the school, describe the expectations/ ideals of the school, and contains the results of the expected performance. (2) Criteria for the formulation of the vision and mission have not all met by the school, because has not contain instructions about the target service vision, mission and haven't made the acronym a vision that is meaningful. (3) The Procedures for the formulation of the vision and mission has not been pursued comprehensively by the school. (4) The Culture of the school is not consistent with the vision and mission set by the school. From the above findings, the results of ths study have implications for schools to carry out the vision and mission accordingly the formulation procedure has an academic code of ethics code and has a motto/slogan as if it can encourage the school culture in accordance with the relevance and material of the study of the vision and formulating concept of the school and school culture.

Abstract

One of the activities of the youth organization is to provide businesses with residents who have less or no income. This activity is called Productive Economic Enterprises (UEP). The purpose of forming UEP by members of the youth organization cannot be separated from the desire to make the community prosperous. In this case in the economic or material field. At UED, residents will be guided in carrying out various activities that can support their economic activities. Creating jobs with various businesses. In this UEP, the skills of the members are adjusted, so the expertise they have will be used as a business in a productive economic life. Related to the Productive Economic Enterprises (UEP) formed by members of the youth organization, it should also be noted that UEP inevitably has to adapt to the era of information technology. In the current era of information technology, there is a flood of information, as a result of which people become increasingly critical thinking and skeptical of the superior quality, benefits, of the products they are going to buy. This problem encourages marketing practitioners to take advantage of the power of public relations in their marketing techniques, which in many circumstances are indeed an essential element of any marketing activity.
