Abstract

Currently, the government is aggressively optimizing students' literacy skills, including mathematical literacy skills. Today's problem is that the dominant students still have low mathematical literacy skills. Therefore, one solution is to apply a Problem Based Learning (PBL) model based on portfolio assessment. This study aims to determine the difference between students' mathematical literacy skills taught using the PBL learning model about portfolios and students' mathematical literacy skills using the direct learning model. Quasi-experimentation is the type of research using the Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population of the study was the seventh-grade students of SMPN 2 Cibal, who found 96 people spread over 3 classes. Samples were taken from the population in a randomized manner so that 32 students of class VIIC were obtained as the experimental group and 32 students of class VIIA as the control group. Data was collected from description testing and also equipped with student portfolio assessment results. The results of data analysis showed that the literacy skills of students who were taught using the PBL learning model showed a better portfolio than the literacy skills of students who used the direct learning model.

Abstract

The increase in community activities causes the amount of wastewater to increase. This wastewater comes from industrial production processes and from the community activities which are domestic wastewater. Domestic wastewater must be treated before being discharged to water sources because it contains pathogenic organisms. The place for treating domestic wastewater is Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The main purpose of WWTP is to degrade the Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and pathogenic organisms. This study develops a multi-objective optimization mathematical model for reducing the BOD load in the WWTP. This optimization model has three objective functions, namely maximizing the BOD load that is treated in the pond minimizing the difference between the BOD reduction efficiency value in the WWTP with the reference efficiency value and minimizing the power used by the aerator. The simulation results show that the maximum BOD load that can be treated in facultative ponds I and II is 1,589.688 Kg/day while for facultative ponds III and IV is 1,727.158 Kg/day. The efficiency value of reducing BOD load is influenced by the residence time variable, where the efficiency value of reducing the BOD load for facultative ponds I and II by 54% while for facultative ponds III and IV by 57%. The power used by the aerator is influenced by the treated BOD load variable, the aerator power in facultative ponds I and II is 49.67775 Kwh while in facultative ponds III and IV it is 53.97369 Kwh.

Abstract

An Octa-Chain graph (OCm) is a graph formed by modifying the cycle graph C8 by adding an edge connecting the midpoints in C8. The minimum number of colors used to color the vertices in a graph so that every two vertices have a rainbow path is called the rainbow vertex-connected number denoted by rvc (G). While the minimum number of colors used to color the vertices in a graph so that every two vertices are always connected by a rainbow path is called a strong rainbow vertex connected number and is denoted by srvc (G). This study aims to determine the rainbow vertex-connected number (rvc) and the strong rainbow-vertex-connected number (srvc) in the Octa-Chain graph (OCm). The results obtained from this research are the rainbow vertex-connected number rvc (OCm)=2m and the strong rainbow-vertex-connected number srvc (OCm)=2m.

Abstract

At the beginning of 2021, stock LQ45 experienced a significant spike in stock prices, making the stock price difficult to predict and the profits obtained by investors uncertain. The purpose of this study is to predict the stock price of LQ45 using the Geometric Brownian Motion model with Jump Diffusion and determine investment by comparing the expected return and return of stock price prediction results. This study uses a Geometric Brownian Motion model with Jump Diffusion to predict stock prices because it can predict when stock prices experience price spikes and fluctuations. Based on the results of the study, of the 45 stocks listed on LQ45 stock, only nine stock companies were selected that had a normally distributed return whose stock price was predicted by applying the Geometric Brownian Motion model with jump-diffusion and each MAPE value obtained was in the very good category. There are six stock companies with investment decisions in the form of buying shares, including Ace Hardware Indonesia Tbk, Bank Central Asia Tbk, Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk, Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk, Vale Indonesia Tbk and Indah Kiat Pulp Paper Tbk. Three stock companies with investment decisions in the form of selling shares including, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk and Mitra Keluarga Karyasehat Tbk.

Abstract

This article compares two survival models namely Extended Cox and Stratified Cox. These two survival models are alternative models if the proportional assumption of the Cox proportional hazard model is not met. The comparison of the models was carried out using data on the resilience of Covid-19 patients in Palopo City, South Sulawesi. After modeling using the Extended Cox and Stratified Cox models, the AIC values are compared to see a better model. The results obtained indicate that modeling the resilience of Covid-19 patients in Palopo City is better by using Stratified Cox.
