Abstract

This study is entitled “An Analysis of flashback plot in the Inception Movie.” Movie Inception by Christopher Nolan as the objects of the research. The aims of this study were (1) to describe the plot arrangement of the Inception movie and (2) to describe the type of the plot in the Inception movie. This study used the theory proposed by Holman (1980) to conduct this study. Descriptive and qualitative method were used in this study, in order to collect the data. Such as downloading the movie from the internet, watching and listening to the movie throughly, classifying various fragments of sentences, dialogues, and scenes. Then, examine, analyze, and interpret these fragments in order to understand the plot structure according to the theory. The results reveal that the plot structure of "Inception" includes three main parts: the beginning, middle, and end. The middle part stands out due to its complex problems, which make the story more engaging while still entertaining. Moreover, "Inception" is characterized as a flashback plot structure, with key elements including exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and catastrophe.

Abstract

This research objective is to categorize and finding various types of coordinating conjunctions as well as their syntactic structures in Mark Twain’s novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. The data source from this study was a novel by Mark Twain titled “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn”. By reading the book several times, noting the coordinating conjunctions, and categorizing the data in the novel according to the various categorize, and this study used the qualitative method with the data and observation technique. To convey the results both formal and informal methods was used, the informal method provides descriptive explanation of the coordinating conjunction types, whereas the formal method used a tree diagram to visually represent and illustrate syntactic structures of sentences. This research using theory from Quirk et al., (1985)[8] which provides an in-depth explanation of syntax to describe types of coordinating conjunctions and using from Brown and Miller (1991) [1]theory to examine the compound sentences' syntactic structure related to tree diagrams. The theory focuses on the structural representation of sentences using tree diagrams to illustrate syntactic relationships. Using these theories can help us to understand the sentence structure more clearly. The result of this study shown that are five coordinating conjunctions identify in the novel The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, consisting with conjunctions “For” with 4 instances (1.76%), “And” 154 instances (67.85%), “But” 51 instances (22.46%), “Or” 2 instances (0.88%), and “So” 16 instances (7.05%).

Abstract

In the current era of globalization, it is very easy to find the phenomenon of code switching. This phenomenon is used in various sectors. Code switching can be found in the education, technology and entertainment sectors. This study focuses on the entertainment sector and aims to determine the types of code switching, namely Tag Switching, Inter-sentential Switching and intra-sentential switching contained in one of Najwa Shihab's YouTube channels entitled Ngobrol bareng Niki: yang dirindukan dari Indonesia. This research confirmed by using observation method and descriptive qualitative method in analyzing the data. Researcher collect data in several steps. Namely, opening YouTube with the keywords Najwa Shihab next, looking for videos of Najwa Shihab with Niki Zefanya with the title Chat with Niki: yang dirindukan dari Indonesia. Watching the video repeatedly to identify, then take notes the utterances that contain code switching. The theory used in this study is the theory proposed by Poplack (1980). Total of the data in this research were 21. The most dominant type used in the video is inter-sentential switching with 10 (47,6%) data. Next is 6 (28,6%) data of intra- sentential switching, and the last, tag switching is as the lowest with only 5 (23,8%) data.

Abstract

The decline in patient visits at the Pediatric Polyclinic of RSHMCB is influenced by issues related to doctor communication and discipline. This study aims to examine the effect of doctor communication and discipline on patient loyalty, with patient satisfaction as a mediating variable. To analyze the effect of doctor communication and discipline on patient loyalty, with satisfaction as a mediator. This study uses a quantitative survey approach with 95 respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with Partial Least Square (PLS). Doctor communication significantly affects loyalty (p = 0.000) and patient satisfaction (p = 0.028). Discipline significantly affects satisfaction (p = 0.000) but does not directly affect loyalty (p = 0.922). Patient satisfaction mediates the relationship between discipline and loyalty (p = 0.027). Doctor communication and discipline affect patient satisfaction, which in turn increases patient loyalty. Hospitals should improve doctor communication and discipline to enhance patient loyalty

RSUD Kefamenanu is one of the hospitals owned by the Regional Government of North Central Timor Regency which borders directly with the State of Timor Leste. RSUD Kefamenanu is the main referral for health services in North Central Timor Regency. The objectives of this study were (1) to analyze the effect of knowledge on interest in treatment at Kefamenanu Regional Hospital, North Central Timor Regency (2) to analyze the effect of previous treatment experience on interest in treatment at Kefamenanu Regional Hospital, North Central Timor Regency (3) to analyze whether socioeconomics moderates the effect of knowledge on interest in treatment at Kefamenanu Regional Hospital, North Central Timor Regency (4) to analyze whether socioeconomics moderates previous treatment experience on interest in treatment at Kefamenanu Regional Hospital, North Central Timor Regency. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach using a cross-sectional study design. This research was conducted at Kefamenanu Hospital, North Central Timor Regency. The population in this study were all patients of Kefamenanu Hospital, North Central Timor Regency with a sample size of 100 people. The analysis method used is moderation regression analysis. The results of the analysis show that (1) There is a positive relationship between service knowledge and interest in seeking treatment at Kefamenanu Hospital, This means that the better the patient's service knowledge, the higher the level of interest in seeking treatment at Kefamenanu Regional Hospital (2) There is a positive direct relationship between interest in seeking treatment at Kefamenanu Regional Hospital, meaning that the higher the patient's perception of previous treatment experience, the higher the level of interest in seeking treatment at Kefamenanu Regional Hospital (3) Socioeconomics partially moderates the effect of knowledge on interest in seeking treatment at Kefamenanu Regional Hospital, North Central Timor Regency (4) Socioeconomics partially moderates previous treatment experience on interest in seeking treatment at Kefamenanu Regional Hospital, North Central Timor Regency.

Abstract

Human Resources (HR) have an important influence on the success of an organization. To find out the results of employee performance, employee performance is assessed using indicators in the form of quantity and quality of employees in carrying out tasks according to their responsibilities. Teamwork and employee discipline can affect the results of employee performance. In addition, employee job satisfaction is also expected to be an important role in strengthening the relationship between teamwork and employee discipline in improving employee performance. This study is descriptive associative, so it is only limited to revealing facts that explain the causality between variables with proof of hypotheses and quantitative data processing. The sample of this study was taken from the entire population of 107 respondents. Data were obtained through questionnaires. The analysis technique used to test the hypothesis used the Structural Equation Model (SEM) model through the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. In this study, seven hypotheses were tested and the researchers found that teamwork did not have a significant effect on employee performance, but with high job satisfaction, it could increase teamwork so that it could improve employee performance. This shows that although teamwork does not always have a significant effect on employee performance, the existence of job satisfaction as a mediating variable can strengthen the relationship. In other words, although good teamwork does not directly affect employee performance, increased job satisfaction resulting from solid teamwork can improve employee performance. Employees who are satisfied with the working relationships within their team tend to be more motivated to contribute better, increase productivity, and provide quality service.
