Abstract

The literature review aims to discuss the energy and protein adequacy rate in Indonesia. The results of the study shows that the protein consumption of the Indonesian population per capita per day in 2020 was 61.98 g. Of the 61.98 g protein consumption, 8.43 g came from marine products such as fish, shrimp, squid and shellfish, 4.05 g from meat and 3.47 g from eggs and milk. Thus, the consumption of animal protein originating from livestock in Indonesia was on average 7.52 g per capita per day. Efforts to increase consumption of animal protein from livestock can be done by increasing awareness of nutrition as well as community income and community business efficiency. Efforts to increase consumption is the responsibility of not only the government but also all members of society. It could be concluded that increasing consumption of animal protein from livestock needs to be carried out intensively by the government and the community.   Key words: consumption of protein from livestock, nutrition awareness, community income, nutrition campaign   ABSTRAK Telaah pustaka ini bertujuan untuk membahas angka kecukupan energi dan protein di Provinsi Bengkulu. Hasil telaah menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi protein penduduk Indonesia per kapita per hari pada tahun 2020 adalah sebanyak 61,98 g. Dari 61,98 g konsumsi protein, 8,43 g berasal dari produk laut seperti ikan, udang, cumi dan kerang, 4,05 g dari daging dan 3,47 g dari telur dan susu. Jadi konsumsi protein hewani asal ternak penduduk Indonesia rata-rata sebesar 7,52 g per kapita per hari. Upaya peningkatan konsumsi protein hewani asal ternak dapat dilakukan dengan cara meningkatkan kesadaran gizi sekaligus pendapatan masyarakat serta efisiensi usaha masyarakat. Upaya peningkatan konsumsi ini merupakan tanggungjawab bukan saja pemerintah tetapi juga semua anggota masyarakat. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan konsumsi protein hewani asal ternak perlu dilakukan intensif oleh pemerintah dan masyarakat.

Abstract

Kupang City is a potential market to sell rice bran because it is widely used as feed for pigs and poultry. However, information about the nutritional quality of rice bran circulating in Kupang City is not widely available. The research aims to identify the origin and nutritional quality of rice bran sold in traditional markets in Kupang City. The research’s respondents numbered seven people and were determined on the total side. The methods used in the research are quantitative descriptive and literature studies. Research variables include the region of origin and nutritional quality of rice bran. The research data was analyzed through tabulation, displayed in the form of a table, and analyzed descriptively, while rice bran samples from various traditional markets for nutritional quality testing used proximate analysis. The results showed that the rice bran marketed in Kupang City came from the Provinces of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The nutritional quality of rice bran in the form of water content and crude fat is by SNI requirements in quality I, II, and III, ash content is by SNI requirements in quality III, while the content of crude protein and crude fibre is not following the specification standards of SNI requirements, both quality I, II, and III. It was concluded that the low quality of rice bran in the traditional market of Kupang City requires additional fermentation treatment by farmers to increase protein content and digestibility and is optimal for use for the growth of poultry and monogastric livestock.   Key words: area of origin, rice bran, Kupang city, nutritional quality, proximate   ABSTRAK Kota Kupang merupakan pasar potensial untuk menjual dedak padi karena banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan ternak babi dan unggas. Namun demikian informasi mengenai kualitas nutrisi dari dedak padi yang beredar di Kota Kupang belum banyak tersedia. Penelitian bertujuan mengidentifikasi daerah asal dan kualitas nutrisi dedak padi yang dijual pada pasar - pasar tradisional di Kota Kupang. Responden penelitian berjumlah 7 orang dan ditentukan secara total samping. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah deskriptif kuantitatif dan studi literatur. Variabel penelitian meliputi daerah asal dan kualitas nutrisi dedak padi. Analisis data penelitian dilakukan melalui tabulasi, ditampilkan dalam bentuk tabel, dan dianalisis secara deskriptif, sedangkan sampel dedak padi dari berbagai pasar tradisional untuk pengujian kualitas nutrisi digunakan analisis proksimat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dedak padi yang dipasarkan di kota kupang berasal dari Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) maupun Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB). Kualitas nutrisi dedak padi berupa kadar air dan lemak kasar sesuai dengan persyaratan SNI pada mutu I, II, dan III, kadar abu sesuai persyaratan SNI pada mutu III, sedangkan kandungan protein kasar dan serat kasar tidak sesuai dengan standar spesifikasi persyaratan SNI baik mutu I, II, maupun III. Disimpulkan bahwa rendahnya kualitas dedak padi di pasar tradisional Kota Kupang membutuhkan tambahan perlakuan fermentasi oleh peternak sehingga dapat meningkatkan kandungan protein maupun kecernaan serta optimal untuk digunakan bagi pertumbuhan ternak unggas dan monogastrik.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to determine the best percentage of Gamal (Gliricidia sepium) leaf meal in complete feed to increase the growth of Rex rabbits. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD), which consisted of 3 treatments with 4 replications: P0 (control treatment), P1 (5% Gliricidia sepium leaf powder, P2 (10% Gliricidia sepium leaf powder). The varriabels were feed consumption, Averga Daily Gain (ADG) and Feed Efficiency. The research data were analyzed by means of variance (ANOVA), if the results of the analysis had a significant effect (P<0.05) then Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) was further tested to see differences between treatments.The results of the study showed that the treatment had no significant (P>0.05) effect on feed consumption, average daily gain (ADG) and feed efficiency. The average of daily consumption of rabbits was 100.17-111.10 g/head/day, average daily gain (ADG) was 19.16-22.80 (g/head/day), and feed efficiency was 19.51-20.85 %. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the use of Gliricidia sepium leaves up to 10% did not have a significant effect on feed consumption, average daily gain, and feed efficiency.   Key words: growth, pellet, Rex   ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui persentase terbaik penggunaan tepung daun gamal (Gliricidia sepium) dalam pakan komplit sehingga dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan kelinci Rex. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), yang terdiri dari 3 perlakuan dengan 4 ulangan : P0 (perlakuan kontrol), P1 (5% tepung daun Gliricidia sepium), P2 (10% tepung daun Gliricidia sepium). Variabel yang diamati terdiri dari konsumsi pakan, Pertambahan Bobot Badan Harian (PBBH) dan Efisiensi Pakan. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan ANOVA, apabila hasil analisis berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) maka diuji lanjut Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) untuk melihat perbedaan antar perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan, pertambahan berat badan harian (PBBH) dan efisiensi pakan. Rataan konsumsi pakan kelinci bekisar 100,17-111,10 g/ekor/hari, pertambahan berat badan harian (PBBH) berkisar 19,16 -22,80 (g/ekor/hari), dan efisiensi pakan berkisar 19,51-20,85 %. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan daun Gliricidia sepium sampai 10% tidak menurunkan performa pertumbuhan kelinci rex yang meliputi konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan harian,dan efisiensi pakan.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effect of using Gliricidia sepium leaf meal in feed on the digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, and crude fiber of Rex rabbits. The study used 12 Rex rabbits which were grouped into 3 feed treatment groups. Group P0 is the control group, Group P1 is fed with 5% Gliricidia sepium leaf meal. Group P2 was fed with 10% Gliricidia sepium leaf meal. The variables observed were dry matter consumption, dry matter digestibility, organic matter digestibility and crude fiber digestibility. The data obtained were analyzed using ANOVA. The results showed that the use of Gliricidia sepium leaf powder did not have a significant effect on the consumption and production of rabbit dry matter. The average dry matter consumption of rabbits ranged from 90.67 to 103.76 g/head/day. The treatment had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on the digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, and had a significant effect (P<0.01) on the digestibility of crude fiber. Based on the DMRT test, on dry matter digestibility, P0 (69.74 ± 1.02 %) and P1 (67.55 ± 2.39 %) were very significantly different from P2 (63.26 ± 1.81 %). Based on the DMRT test, on organic matter digestibility, P0 (69.23 ± 0.84 %) and P1 (67.41 ± 2.27 %) were very significantly different from P2 (62.35 ± 1.80 %). Based on the DMRT test, on crude fiber digestibility, P0 (67.92 ± 0.96 %) was very significantly different from P1 (63.41 ± 3.59 %) and P2 (67.93 ± 1.67 %). The conclusion from the study was that the use of Gliricidia sepium leaf meal up to 5% had no effect on the digestibility of dry matter, organic matter, and crude fiber in Rex rabbits.   Key words: digestibility, pellet, tannin   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penggunaan tepung daun Gliricidia sepium dalam pakan terhadap kecernaan bahan kering, bahan organik, dan serat kasar pada kelinci Rex. Penelitian menggunakan 12 ekor kelinci Rex yang dikelompokkan dalam 3 kelompok perlakuan pakan. Kelompok P0 merupakan kontrol, Kelompok P1 pakan dengan kandungan 5% tepung daun Gliricidia sepium. Kelompok P2 pakan dengan kandungan 10% tepung daun Gliricidia sepium. Variabel yang diamati adalah konsumsi bahan kering, kecernaan bahan kering, kecernaan bahan organik dan kecernaan serat kasar. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tepung daun Gliricidia sepium tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap konsumsi dan produksi bahan kering kelinci. Rataan konsumsi bahan kering kelinci berkisar pada 90,67 sampai 103,76 g/ekor/hari. Perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kecernaan bahan kering, bahan organik, dan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kecernaan serat kasar. Berdasarkan uji DMRT, pada kecernaan bahan kering, P0 (69,74±1,02 %) dan P1 (67,55±2,39 %) berbeda sangat nyata dengan P2 (63,26±1,81%). Berdasarkan uji DMRT, pada kecernaan bahan organik, P0 (69,23±0,84 %) dan P1 (67,41±2,27 %) berbeda sangat nyata dengan P2 (62,35±1,80 %). Berdasarkan uji DMRT, pada kecernaan serat kasar, P0 (67,92±0,96 %) berbeda sangat nyata dengan P1 (63,41±3,59 %) P2 (67,93±1,67 %). Kesimpulan dari penelitian bahwa penggunaan tepung daun Gliricidia sepium sampai 5% tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap kecernan bahan kering, bahan organik, dan serat kasar pada kelinci Rex.

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of turmeric flour supplementation in the ration on the organoleptic characteristics of purebred chicken eggs.  Forty chickens aged 36 weeks were randomly distributed into four treatments, each treatment consisting of 10 tests, with a  Complete Randomized Design.  Treatment (P0) without turmeric flour supplementation, the other treatment was turmeric flour supplementation successively P1: 0.75%;  P2:  1.50% and P3:  2.25%. The variables observed included the color of the yolk, taste, aroma (smell), and texture of the egg that had been boiled. Observation of the organoleptic characteristics of eggs is carried out in the ninth week after the administration of turmeric flour.  The data obtained are tabulated and further discussed descriptively. The results showed that turmeric flour supplementation in the ration against the egg yolk color score ranged from 3.35-3.70, taste 3.18-3.34, smell/aroma 3.14-3.20, and texture 3.08-3.17. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that turmeric flour supplementation (Curcuma domestica) up to the level of 2.25% in the ration is only able to improve the color characteristics of the yolk from a bit like to like but does not decrease the taste characteristics, aroma/smell and texture of purebred chicken eggs after boiling.   Key words: Supplementation, Turmeric Flour, Organoleptic Characteristics    ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh suplementasi tepung kunyit dalam ransum terhadap karakteristik organoleptik telur ayam ras.  Ayam umur 36 minggu (46 ekor) didistribusikan secara Acak ke dalam empat perlakuan, masing-masing perlakuan terdiri 10 ulangan, dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan (P0) tanpa suplementasi tepung kunyit, perlakuan lainnya adalah suplementasi tepung kunyit berturut-turut  P1: 0,75%; P2 : 1,50% dan P3 : 2,25%. Variabel yang diamati yaitu warna kuning telur, rasa, aroma (bau), dan tekstur telur yang sudah direbus. Pengamatan karakteristik organoleptik  telur dilakukan pada minggu ke sembilan setelah pemberian tepung kunyit. Data yang diperoleh ditabulasi, dibahas secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi tepung kunyit dalam ransum terhadap skor  warna kuning telur berkisar 3,35-3,70, rasa 3,18-3,34, bau/aroma 3,14-3,20, dan tekstur 3,08-3,17. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa suplementasi tepung kunyit (Curcuma domestica) sampai level 2,25% dalam ransum hanya mampu meningkatkan karakteristik warna kuning telur dari agak suka menjadi suka tetapi tidak menurunkan karakteristik  rasa, aroma/bau dan tekstur telur ayam ras setelah direbus.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the blood profile of broiler chickens given kitolod leaf extract (Isotoma longiflora) through drinking water. This study used 200 broiler chickens with 5 treatments and 4 replications. P0: Drinking water + 0% kitolod leaf extract, P1: Drinking water + tetracyclin, P2: Drinking water + 1.5% kitolod leaf extract, P3: Drinking water + 3.0% kitolod leaf extract, P4: Drinking water + 4.5% kitolod leaf extract. The design used in this study was a RAL design (Completely Randomized Design), analyzed using ANOVA. The variables observed were red blood cells (eritrosit), hemoglobin, white blood cells (leukosit), hematocrit. The results of this study showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on red blood cells (eritrosit), hemoglobin, white blood cells (leukosit), and hematocrit. Red blood cells (eritrosit) ranged from 2.10-2.52 × 106µl, hemoglobin ranged from 9.8-11.1 g/dL, white blood cells (leukosit) ranged from 175.8-183.7 × 103µl, and hematocrit ranged from 28.8 to 32.5%. The conclusion of this study was that the administration of kitolod leaf extract (Isotoma longiflora) from 1.5%-4.5% of Kitolod leaves maintain the blood profile of broiler chickens.   Key words: Blood Profile, Broiler, Kitolod.   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi profil darah ayam broiler yang diberi ekstrak daun kitolod (Isotoma longiflora) melalui air minum. Penelitian ini menggunakan 200 ekor ayam broiler dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. P0: Air minum + 0% ekstrak daun kitolod, P1: Air minum + tetracyclin, P2: Air minum + 1,5% ekstrak daun kitolod, P3:Air minum + 3,0% ekstrak daun kitolod, P4: Air minum + 4,5% ekstrak daun kitolod. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap), dianalisis dengan menggunakan ANOVA. Variabel yang diamati yaitu sel darah merah (eritrosit), hemoglobin, sel darah putih (leukosit), hematokrit. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap sel darah merah (eritrosit), hemoglobin, sel darah putih (leukosit), hematokrit. Sel darah merah (eritrosit) berkisar antara 2,10-2,52 × 106µl, hemoglobin berkisar antara 9,8-11,1 g/dL, sel darah putih (leukosit) berkisar antara 175,8-183,7 × 103µl, dan hematokrit berkisar 28,8-32,5 %. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini pemberian ekstrak daun kitolod (Isotoma longiflora) dari perlakuan 1,5% - 4,5% dapat mempertahankan profil darah ayam broiler.

Abstract

This research aims were to know the composition of fiber in complete rations based on dry cocoa leaves with different storage times. This research method used a completely randomized design consisting of 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment in this study was storage of complete rations with different storage times, with treatment is 0 days, 4 weeks, and 8 weeks on complete rations based on dry cocoa leaves. The results of the analysis showed that the complete ration based on dry cocoa leaves had a significant effect (P<0.05) on NDF content and Lignin but had not significantly different (P>0.05) on ADF content, hemicellulose and cellulose in the complete ration. The conclusion that storage time up to 8 weeks had no effect on the fiber fraction of the complete ration based on dry cocoa leaves as the main fiber source, except for the NDF and Lignin fractions which showed a decrease due to storage   Key words: Complete Ration, Fiber Fraction, Dried Cocoa Leaves   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi serat pada ransum komplit berbasis daun kakao kering dengan lama penyimpanan yang berbeda. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang terdiri 3 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan pada penelitian ini adalah penyimpanan ransum komplit dengan lama penyimpanan yang berbeda yaitu 0 hari, 4 minggu, dan 8 minggu pada ransum komplit berbasis daun kakao kering. Hasil analisis menunjukan bahwa ransum komplit berbasis daun kakao kering berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kandungan NDF dan Lignin tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kandungan ADF, hemiselulosa dan selulosa pada ransum komplit. Kesimpulan lama penyimpanan hingga 8 minggu tidak berpengaruh terhadap fraksi serat ransum komplit berbasis daun kakao kering sebagai sumber serat utama kecuali fraksi NDF dan Lignin yang memperlihatkan adanya penurunan akibat penyimpanan. Abstract

Objective of this research was to evaluate diet containing concentrate at different level of solid material ex decanter (SMD) of palm oil mill on performance Anglo Nubian buckling. This research was conducted at Commercial Zone and Animal Laboratory, University of Bengkulu. Latin Square Experimental Design was used, with 4 treatments: P0 (100% tofu waste), P1 (75% tofu waste+25% SMD), P2 (50% tofu waste+50% SMD), and P3 (75% SMD). Variables measured were gain, height, length, chest, and feed intake. The result showed that there were no different effect (P>0.05) on intake of grass DM, grass OM, grass CP, total DM and total OM. Nevertheless,  treatments affect intake of concentrate DM,  concentrate OM, concentrate CP, and total CP. Average daily gain, height, length, and chest measured were no different effect (P>0.05). It can be concluded that solid material ex decanter of palm oil mill may be used as part of concentrate.   Key words: Nubian goat, performance, tofu dregs, solid material ex decanter   ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan Lumpur minyak sawit (solid material ex decanter) dalam konsentrat terhadap performa kambing Nubian jantan muda. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Commercial Zone and Animal Laboratorium (CZAL) Jurusan Peternakan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Bengkulu.Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan bujur sangkar latin (RBSL) dengan 4 perlakuan pakan konsentrat dengan level yang berbeda, yaitu P0 (Ampas tahu 100%), P1 (Ampas tahu 75% + LMS 25%), P2(Ampas tahu 50% + LMS 50%), dan P3 (Ampas tahu 25% + LMS 75%). Ternak yang digunakan sebanyak 4 ekor kambing Anglo Nubian  jantan berumur 10 bulan dengan berat 36,3 +/- 0,9 kg. Variabel yang diamati adalah (1) Pertambahan Berat Badan (2) Panjang badan (3) Lingkar dada (4) Tinggi badan (5) Konsumsi pakan dan nutrisi (BK, BO, PK) (6) Suhu dan kelembaban lingkungan. Analisis data menggunakan sidik ragam (ANOVA), jika perlakuan berpengaruh nyata akan dilanjutkan dengan uji Least Significance Different (LSD). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pengunaan LMS berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap BK hijauan, BO hijauan, PK hijauan, konsumsi BK total, dan BO total. Analisis varian, menunjukan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap konsumsi BK konsentrat, BO konsentrat, PK konsentrat dan PK total. Sedangkan pada pertambahan berat badan, panjang badan, tinggi badan, dan lingkar dada menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05). Pengunaan LMS dapat diterapkan, namun dalam jangka panjang mungkin akan memberikan dampak penurunan terhadap pertumbuhan kambing Anglo Nubian jantan muda.

Abstract

Yogurt is a fermented milk beverage, in general fruit added to yoghurt to improve it taste. Pineapple added to improve taste of yoghurt, aside pineapple addition, sugar added to balance sweet and sour taste of yoghurt. Sugar type have different characteristic. The aim of this research to observe the effect of sugar type on physicochemical and organoleptic pineapple yoghurt. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments, namely granulated white sugar (P1), granulated palm sugar (P2) and granulated coconut sugar (P3) with 3 replications. Parameters observed were physical characteristic (color), chemical characteristics (pH and Total Soluble Solid (TSS)) and organoleptic (hedonic test). The color were analyzed descriptively, pH and TSS were evaluated using ANOVA and differences between the treatments were analyzed using Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) with α=0,05 significance level, whereas the result of hedonic test (flavour, aroma, color and texture) were analyzed descriptively using mode. The color of pineapple yoghurt with the addition of various type of sugar were cloudy brown (P1) and sandrift brown (P2 and P3). The addition of sugar type had a significant effect (P<0.05) on pH, however had no significant effect (P>0,05) on TSS. The pineapple yoghurt with granulated white sugar (P1) had most attributed in the like category in taste, aroma and texture with pH value 3,79 and TSS 23 oBrix.   Key words: Granulated Coconut Sugar, Granulated Sugar, Granulated Palm Sugar, Pineapple, and Yoghurt   ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi profil darah ayam broiler yang diberi ekstrak daun kitolod (Isotoma longiflora) melalui air minum. Penelitian ini menggunakan 200 ekor ayam broiler dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. P0: Air minum + 0% ekstrak daun kitolod, P1: Air minum + tetracyclin, P2: Air minum + 1,5% ekstrak daun kitolod, P3:Air minum + 3,0% ekstrak daun kitolod, P4: Air minum + 4,5% ekstrak daun kitolod. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap), dianalisis dengan menggunakan ANOVA. Variabel yang diamati yaitu sel darah merah (eritrosit), hemoglobin, sel darah putih (leukosit), hematokrit. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap sel darah merah (eritrosit), hemoglobin, sel darah putih (leukosit), hematokrit. Sel darah merah (eritrosit) berkisar antara 2,10-2,52 × 106µl, hemoglobin berkisar antara 9,8-11,1 g/dL, sel darah putih (leukosit) berkisar antara 175,8-183,7 × 103µl, dan hematokrit berkisar 28,8-32,5 %. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini pemberian ekstrak daun kitolod (Isotoma longiflora) dari perlakuan 1,5% - 4,5% dapat mempertahankan profil darah ayam broiler.
