Abstract

This study aims to develop a more interactive, responsive, and participatory web-based case reporting system for the public, particularly within the Department of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (DWECP) of Manado City. The developed system, named LABRRAK, integrates two key components: (1) a machine learning-based chatbot that utilizes the Google Dialogflow platform with Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology to automatically respond to user inquiries; and (2) a real-time case tracking feature based on a finite state machine algorithm, allowing reporters to directly monitor the progress of their cases. This research adopts a Research and Development (R&D) method combined with the Agile development model, which emphasizes an iterative and evaluative process through sprint stages. This approach enables the system to adapt to changing user needs and enhance its features based on direct feedback. Each sprint cycle concludes with testing using the Black Box Testing method to ensure that all system functionalities perform as expected. The testing results demonstrate that all core features, including case reporting, chatbot conversations, status tracking, and the administrative analytics dashboard, function optimally and meet user requirements. LABRRAK’s innovation lies in its integration of dynamic status tracking and two-way communication features into a single, unified digital platform. The system is expected to accelerate case handling, improve transparency, and strengthen accountability in addressing cases of violence against women and children. Furthermore, LABRRAK has the potential to serve as a prototype for the development of other inclusive, technology-driven public service systems in the social sector.

Abstract

Indonesia is known as one of the countries producing tea with high bioactive compounds such as caffeine, phenol, and catechin. This study evaluated the effectiveness of microwave-based thermobiochemical methods to extract the three compounds while simultaneously inactivating enzymes. The extraction process was designed using the Factorial Design method, involving variations in the feed:solvent ratio (1:22 and 1:32), temperature (110 °C and 130 °C), and time (10, 20, and 30 minutes). The results showed that catechin had the highest effect of 5.85 with a probability of 35.87%, followed by phenol (5.18; 59.68%) and caffeine (4.51; 54.47%). The normal probability plot graph indicated a distribution of effects approaching normal with R² of 0.9458 (catechin), 0.9395 (phenol), and 0.7946 (caffeine), respectively. Meanwhile, the optimization graph shows a perfect linear relationship (R² = 1), with optimal levels of 17.18 mg/L (catechin), 9.36 mg/L (phenol), and 9.77 mg/L (caffeine), respectively. Thus, this method is proven to be efficient and has the potential to be further developed for sustainable natural material processing industry applications. The variables were designed using the Factorial Design method.

Abstract

In the manufacturing industry, the balance of the production trajectory is an important factor in increasing productivity and efficiency. In the production process at PT XYZ, there are problems with the balance of the production trajectory at the workstation, so it is necessary to determine the optimal production trajectory so that the load on the workstation can be evenly distributed and able to reduce idle time. The Ranked Positional Weight (RPW) and Region Approach (RA) methods were chosen in this study. The main bottleneck was found at the hole cutting stage, where tool limitations caused output differences between manual and machine processes. This imbalance resulted in idle time which affected the overall production efficiency. The analysis results show that the application of RPW and RA methods is able to improve trajectory efficiency by optimizing the number of work stations and reducing idle time. The analysis results state that the company can achieve a trajectory efficiency of 88.48% and reduce the balance delay from -16.67% to 15,73% and a smoothness index of 611,25%.

Abstract

Companies in the industrial world, both manufacturing and service industries, are required to face market competition in order to compete and survive. One thing that companies need to pay attention to is the quality of the products produced. Good product quality will make consumers like the product. Therefore, improving product quality must be considered by the company. One of the companies that produces fabric, namely PT. XYZ, has a problem of not knowing the level of quality of the fabric produced, so this study aims to determine the quality of the product and provide suggestions for improvement to the company. There are defects in fabric production, namely double weft with a percentage of 27.7%, loose weft 26.7%, broken warp 24.5% and thick weft 21.2%. Improvement proposals are given to the highest percentage of defects, namely double weft with the following proposals: Carrying out machine maintenance and replacing the new gun eye so that the gun eye is not blunt, replacing the roller on the worn warping machine with a new roller, providing comprehensive and intensive training to workers on how to use the machine effectively and correctly. It is hoped that this research can help the company improve the quality of the fabric products produced.

Abstract

Time and cost control is an important aspect in the success of construction projects, especially in large-scale projects such as the construction of the Integrated Lecture Building (GKT) of Surabaya State Polytechnic of Shipping. This research aims to analyze the time and cost performance of the project using the earned value concept. With this method, measurement and evaluation of project performance can be done quantitatively based on earned value data. The results of the analysis show that from the evaluation results in the 35th week, the value of ACWP is Rp. 47,741,219,980.93, the BCWP value is Rp. 47,874,478,839.55, and the BCWS value is Rp. 47,721,477,927.80. Based on the ACWP, BCWP, and BCWS values, the Cost Variance (CV) value is Rp. 133,258,858.63 and the Schedule Variance (SV) is Rp. 153,00,911.76. This figure indicates that the costs incurred are more efficient and the implementation time is faster than planned. The values of CPI and SPI equal to 1.00 indicate good cost performance within budget as well as good schedule performance with the schedule on time against the plan. The estimated cost of ETC is Rp. 1,476,532,576.73 and EAC is Rp. 49,217,752,557.66. The estimated time of ETS is Rp. 1.99 weeks and EAS is 36.99 weeks. With the application of this method, deviations from schedule and budget can be identified early so that decision making can be done appropriately to return the project to the predetermined schedule.

Abstract

Feature selection is one of the most crucial concepts of learning when constructing a machine learning algorithm. This paper proposes a new technique of using a blend of Secretary Bird Optimization (SBO) and Decision Tree for feature selection. SBO, with the consideration of hunting strategy of called secretary bird, can successfully search the space and find feature subsets. The first proposed framework involves identifying the relevant features by applying SBO then secondly deciding on a ranking of the features by using a decision tree model classifier. Evaluation is based on the most famous Iris dataset with the application of the 5-fold cross-validation to increase the reliability of the results. It is shown that the SBO-based approach succeeds in both objectives, and the average classification accuracy is equal to 0.9550 ± 0.0316, while the baseline selection methods have higher values of loss. This result has unveiled a theoretical and practical potential for future works that seek to combine metaheuristic optimization with decision trees and interpretability of selected features and machine learning models.
