Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the digital storytelling method in Islamic Religious Education learning on Islamic History material in State Junior High Schools in Kebakkramat, Karanganyar. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving three Islamic Religious Education teachers and five students as informants at State Junior High Schools 1, 2, and 3 Kebakkramat, Karanganyar. The data was validated by technique triangulation and source triangulation, then analysed through stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicated that the implementation of digital storytelling increased students' interest, motivation, and understanding of Islamic history material through interactive, creative, and contextual learning. Teachers utilised digital media such as Canva, educational videos, and interactive platforms to enrich the learning experience. Challenges faced included limited time, technological facilities, teachers' and students' digital literacy, and variations in learning interests. Creative classroom management strategies, adequate facility support, and digital literacy training were the keys to the successful implementation of this method. Digital storytelling has proven to be relevant to the demands of 21st-century learning, capable of internalising Islamic values, and has the potential to be an innovative alternative in teaching Islamic History.

Abstract

Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that often progresses silently but significantly affects the psychosocial well-being of adult patients. If unmanaged, it may lead to complications and decreased quality of life. This systematic literature review aims to explore the psychosocial impact of hypertension, both at the moment of diagnosis and throughout long-term management among adult patients. The study employed a systematic review method, following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Five primary quantitative studies published between 2015 and 2025 were analysed. The review was structured into two focal points: (1) psychological distress experienced upon diagnosis, and (2) chronic psychosocial stress in adults living with hypertension. The results showed that individuals with high psychosocial stress had an 8.198-fold higher likelihood of being diagnosed with hypertension. Contributing factors included poor sleep quality, low physical activity, and lack of social support. Additionally, prolonged distress such as anger, depression, and past trauma was significantly associated with poor blood pressure control, nonadherence to therapy, and decreased self-care. Patients with uncontrolled hypertension had a sixfold increased risk of experiencing hypertension-related distress. These findings highlight the urgency of integrating psychosocial screening and emotional support into routine hypertension management, especially at the primary care level.

Abstract

This study analysed the influence of social sustainability practices on the market valuation of Indonesian agricultural firms between 2023 and 2024. The performance in social sustainability was evaluated according to the criteria set by the FAO's SAFA framework. This research utilised an exploratory sequential mixed-methods design. The initial quantitative data were collected from the annual and/or sustainability reports of 30 firms over two years, resulting in a balanced panel of 60 firm-year observations. Data were analysed quantitatively using the Generalised Estimating Equations (GEE) to test the relationship between six social variables (Decent Livelihoods, Fair Trade Practices, Workers' Rights, Equality, Human Health & Safety, and Cultural Diversity) and stock prices. The results indicated that investors do not value all social aspects equally. Specifically, the variables Equity (p<.001) and Human Health & Safety (p=0.031) were shown to demonstrate a statistically significant positive relationship with the company's market valuation. In contrast, the other four dimensions did not show a significant impact. The highest disclosure levels were found in themes related to regulatory obligations, such as Equality (0.98) and Workers' Rights (0.90), while Cultural Diversity (0.50) was the lowest. These findings fill a gap in the literature by identifying which social dimensions are valued by the market, providing strategic implications for companies to focus on practices relevant to investors.

Abstract

Community participation is a key element of democratic and inclusive village development planning. However, in areas with specific ecological characteristics such as peatland regions, community participation in the Village Development Planning Forum (MusrenbangDes) is often constrained by geographical barriers, limited mobility, and reliance on face-to-face deliberative mechanisms. These conditions restrict equal access to participation and limit the representation of community aspirations in development planning processes. This study aims to develop the e-MusrenbangDes application as a context-sensitive digital participatory medium to strengthen village development planning in peatland areas. The research was conducted in Tumbang Nusa Village, Central Kalimantan, using a Research and Development (R&D) method with a qualitative approach. The development stages included needs analysis, system design, prototype development, expert validation, and limited field testing. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with key village stakeholders, and document analysis, and were analysed using an interactive qualitative analysis model. The findings indicated that the e-MusrenbangDes application expands community access to the submission of development proposals without dependence on physical attendance at MusrenbangDes meetings. The application also supports more systematic and transparent management of village development planning administration. These findings suggest that contextually designed digital innovations can strengthen participatory village governance in ecologically constrained areas such as peatland regions.

Abstract

This study examined the influence of product greening cost comprehension and environmental knowledge on green product willingness to pay among Generation Z consumers, with environmental awareness as a mediator, across six Indonesian metropolitan cities: Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Medan, and Semarang. A quantitative-explanatory approach used a 5-point Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 464 respondents via purposive sampling, analysed with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (SmartPLS 4.0). The measurement model showed strong convergent validity, satisfactory composite reliability, and adequate discriminant validity. Structural model testing confirmed that product greening cost comprehension positively influenced environmental awareness, environmental knowledge exerted a dominant effect on environmental awareness, and both environmental awareness and environmental knowledge significantly influenced willingness to pay. Bootstrapping mediation testing with Bias Corrected Confidence Intervals confirmed full mediation by environmental awareness on the cost comprehension-willingness to pay path, and partial mediation on the environmental knowledge-willingness to pay path.

Abstract

Older adults experience various changes that can increase vulnerability, especially when family support is lacking. In Islamic teachings, honouring and caring for parents is strongly emphasised, making insufficient family support not only a social concern but also a moral issue. This study aims to examine the influence of family support on depression levels among older adults in nursing homes. This study employed a quantitative cross-sectional design conducted in three nursing homes in Jakarta. The population consisted of 190 elderly residents, from which 58 respondents were selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected using validated questionnaires, namely the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) to measure depression levels and the Family Support Scale (FSS) to assess family support. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-square test, with the Mann–Whitney test applied when statistical assumptions were not fulfilled. The findings showed that the majority of respondents were female (76,3%), mostly aged 71-75 years (39,6%), and had higher levels of education (45%). Most elderly did not experience depression (84,5%), and more than half had good family support (56,9%). The analysis revealed that family support was associated with lower levels of depression. Older adults receiving good family support were found to have substantially lower levels of depression. These results underscore that family support is an essential factor in reducing the risk of depression among older adults.
