Abstract

The rise of digital streaming and investing in Indonesia has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. One company involved in this unprecedented scenario is PT Global Mediacom TBK (BMTR). The everchanging digital streaming landscape and its massive growth create both an opportunity and threat for the company’s growth. The study aims to analyse stock valuation and performance of digital media in Indonesia pre-pots pandemic. To analyse this, the study utilized secondary data from the company’s annual report and various secondary sources. The data is processed using absolute valuation method of Discounted Cash Flow valuation and relative valuation method of Price-to-Earnings Ratio, Price-to-Book Value and EV/EBITDA. Using the absolute valuation method, it is found that the company’s stock is currently overvalued with an intrinsic value of Rp 169 in comparison to the actual price of Rp 278. One of the reasons for this is the company’s high beta stock of 1.8 which could signal a higher risk but higher return. Using the relative valuation method, all the metrics found that BMTR stock is undervalued. Being constantly below the industry average. However, the financial analysis as well as the relative valuations has found that the company is the most stable out of all the Indonesian listed digital streaming companies. This demonstrates the excellent business performance of the company.

Abstract

Titanium is widely applied for the tube condenser in Indonesia’s powerplant especially those that use seawater for the cooling system, because it has excellent properties both mechanical and physical. Leak in titanium in seawater environment occurred, but on the contrary, the leak of titanium tube in the brackish environment frequently occurs. Many defense tasks such as plugging, cleaning, and adjusting operations have taken, but the result remains the same. Until it was decided to perform an overhaul for the condenser and tube mapping using ECT. It was discovered that 80% of the total tube have been wall lost thickness so that total retubing must be conducted. Chemical elements consist of oxygen (O), sulfur (S), and chlor (Cl) were found during DT and NDT. This study aims to analyze the factors causing this severe titanium tube leak in the condenser. This case is like previous research even though it occurred in different equipment and water feed. Sulfur elements came from the excretion of aquatic biota such as mussel. Plentiful mussels grow along the cooling condenser line because biocide injection is difficult to perform. The method used to find the root cause of the problem is performing several tests of titanium tubes samples. The results show titanium tube from the condenser has experienced bio-corrosion. This is supported by the presence of three elements that allow the bio-corrosion reaction to occur by forming titanium sulfide, namely O, S, and Cl.

Abstract

This paper suggests that a ‘political economy’ approach to conflict has far-reaching implications for relief work. In war there are both ‘winners’ and ‘losers. The vulnerability of losers needs to be understood as a consequence of their powerlessness. A state of war provides and justifies the use of violent means to create or sustain economic profits and political power. A war may have clear ‘winners’ in the sense that they profit from the war without the war itself being ‘won’ in the traditional sense. For the losers, such a war is the never-ending accumulation of abuses, fear and frustration. The paper aims to find out how the political economy approach to conflict between peace and conflict. Descriptive method with qualitative approach was used in the study. The paper proposes that by understanding the political economy of war, relief agencies can better assess the, forms of economic violence which threaten livelihoods during wars. Second, analyzing the context and implications of relief work is crucial so as to minimize its negative impact – given that belligerents and foreign states may seek to manipulate a humanitarian presence and misdirect the resources provided by relief. Its further analysis methods of understanding the course of a conflict in terms of political economy can help to identify political and economic interests which impede a transition to peace, and so help avoid the reconstruction of a pre-war economy that may have had much to do with the origin of the conflict.

Abstract

Jatropha curcas is a prospective vegetable oil or biodiesel and various derivative products as well as phytoremediation (plants cleaning the environment) and phytomining (plants that mine metals such as gold, nickel etc.). However, the commodity often experiences problems in the supply of seeds. The seed used usually has decreased their viability after going through a certain storage period. Therefore, matriconditioning technology and the application of the biological agent Pseudomonas fluorescens were used to increase the viability and vigor of these seeds. The aim of the study was to determine the interaction between the duration of the matrioditioning treatment and the application of Pseudomonas fluorescens to increase the viability and vigor of Jatropha seeds and to determine the optimal duration of the matrioditioning treatment and the dosage of Pseudomonas fluorescens in increasing the viability and growth performance of sprouts and seedlings. Field experiments would be carried out in the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Jember. This experiment was arranged using a factorial design (two factors) with a randomized block design (RBD) repeated 3 times. The result showed that the interaction effect of matriconditioning time and dose of Pseudomonas fluorescens was significantly different on the observed variables of growth speed, vigor index and T50. Combination of 24 hours matriconditioning treatment and dose of Pseudomonas fluorescens 100 ml l-1 produced the best treatment on variables representing seed vigor (growth rate and vigor index).

Abstract

Livestock and dairy farming make up the bulk of Pakistan’s economy. Punjab is the hub of agriculture and livestock due to its land and climatic features. However, there have been a lot of challenges that are slowing down the progress. Pandemics, epidemics and climate catastrophes have caused the major impact. Dairy farming is providing livelihood to rural communities but some environmental hazards are also associated with it like greenhouse gases, deforestation etc, animal welfare as well. Sustainable livestock and dairy farming practices are widely applied worldwide and needed to prosper in Pakistan as well. This study is aimed at comparative review of the researches and latest techniques being tested and implemented economically and how can we adopt appropriate techniques to improve the current situation of this sector. There are many latest techniques that offer environmentally friendly livestock and enhanced production to serve the economy and conserve the biodiversity like precison livestock farming, smart farming, real time monitoring using biosensors for eary diagnoses and prognosis of diseases, detection of feeding patterns, breeding patterns etc. The study shows that most farmers in the study have a higher level of education, which is a positive sign for the future of the industry. The study also suggests that regular trainings be organized for farmers to transfer the latest technology and practices in a timely manner.

Abstract

Appropriateness of costs in the process of building a high-rise building is one of the success criteria for a construction project. However, the main problem that is often faced by most construction projects is related to the occurrence of cost overruns. Quantity Surveyor has an important role in a construction project. According to IQSI, the role of the Quantity Surveyor consists of 4 main scopes, namely planning and controlling construction costs, documenting the completeness of tender documents, contract administration, and arbitration. This study aims to identify risk factors and risk ratings from the competency of the Quantity Surveyor that have the potential to cause cost overruns. The method used in this study is the Delphi method, to validate the risks obtained from the literature study. From the results of the analysis, 52 variables with a moderate level of risk were obtained, and 3 variables with a high level of risk in the pre-construction and construction stages which could cause cost overruns.

Abstract

CSR is the company's responsibility for the impact of its activities and decisions on society and the environment. Implementation of CSR guided by the principles of ISO 26000 can optimize CSR efforts in the company. CSR has an important role in improving people's welfare and reducing environmental impact, but the implementation of CSR is still not optimal. This shows that palm oil mills need to make improvement efforts so that CSR implementation becomes more optimal, the research aims to determine the challenges in implementing CSR programs and provide recommendations to overcome dominant challenges. This research used delphi methods to assess the relevance of challenge and TOPSIS methods for prioritize the challenge. The first step in formulating improvement efforts is identifying the challenging factors in CSR implementation. The Delphi method aims to assess the relevance of challenges; the Delphi results show one additional challenge: "The emergence of the latest laws and regulations that cause significant changes to existing operations". Sixteen challenges become input in the TOPSIS method. The TOPSIS calculation results show three main challenges in this study. These three challenges include (1) Factor A5, "Company coordination with stakeholders (government, local communities, society, NGOs) is not good” 0.659984), (2) Factor E5 "The company's regulatory structure is complex in supporting the implementation of CSR programs" (0.596638), and (3) Factor D2 "Lack of certainty of economic benefits from technology investment initiatives that support CSR programs" (0.586047). This research showed that coordination between stakeholders is the most challenging factor when a company implements CSR programs. A recommendation in line with ISO 26000 is implementing a stakeholder engagement strategy through discussion forums. Regular communication forums will strengthen collaboration between stakeholders and will facilitate the society or local community in voicing the need for the program to be funded by the company.
