Abstract

Along with the increasing population growth, the demand for water and land needs also increases. So it tends to cause changes in land use, especially forests, which will affect the water system function of a watershed. This shows that there is a need for conservation efforts to maintain the sustainability of the watershed and its water availability. Land use is a reflection of human activities on land. Land use can be detected based on the land cover. Flood disasters occur due to land use that is not suitable for its designation. Changes in land use result in changes in surface water runoff which can be known based on the coefficient of surface runoff. The greater the rain that occurs, the greater the surface flow, resulting in floods and landslides. The Uwemanje sub-watershed is a hydrological regulator as well as a source of irrigation water for the villages of Porame, Binanngga, Baliase, Boya Baliase, Padende, Sibedi and Uwemanje Alone. The Uwemanje sub-watershed has a very important role in life, especially the daily needs of the Uwemanje community as well as agriculture, animal husbandry and plantations. To find out whether the hydrological characteristics of the Uwemanje sub-watershed are getting better or worse, the flow trend of the Uwemanje sub-watershed can be seen by calculating the runoff coefficient (C), by first analyzing the discharge and rainfall. This research was conducted from April to June 2022 in Uwemanje Village, Kinovaro District, Sigi Regency, and Central Sulawesi Province. The method used to determine the value of the runoff coefficient (C) is the rational method. Based on the observations and measurements made in this study, the results showed that the area of the Uwemanje Village watershed was 12,470,000 m², daily discharge was 12,966.57 m³, rainfall was 0.07893 meters, and the runoff coefficient (C) was 0.0013. The hydrology of the water catchment area (DTA) of the Uwemanje Village is still in a stable condition, which means that the forest with its function as a water regulator has not experienced high physical disturbances.

Abstract

Spatial planning policies must align with environmental policies to increase security and comfort, productivity, and harmony in the natural environment. This paper aims to identify and analyze the application of spatial planning policies to environmental management in Gayo Lues Regency because several community conflicts still need to carry out their business following the regulations that apply to both spatial planning and environmental policies. This study collected data through interviews with the spatial planning and environmental services and the community and business actors using a qualitative method. In addition, data collection also uses documents. The analysis technique is based on an interactive model of data collection, data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The study results show that Gayo Lues Regency already has excellent and synergistic regulations between spatial planning and the environment. However, implementing this policy is still not optimal, so several violations by the community are found, such as disposing of waste oil indiscriminately. Some of the obstacles to implementing these policies consist of two factors. 1) External factors where some people need a high level of concern and low awareness to protect the surrounding environment. 2) From internal factors that the government itself needs to maximize in disseminating policies or is still negligent in providing educative information to the public related to protecting the environment.

Abstract

BUMDES Bangun Mandiri is growing rapidly by implementing various programs that synergize with the village government so that in 2022 it will produce several superior products, namely processing of local agricultural and plantation products, savings and loan units and livestock. The superior product produced is a development of village potential owned by Bekiung Village, but BUMDES Bangun Mandiri must still be able to maintain its existence in village development because it is related to improving community welfare and the village economy through communication patterns that can unite commitment with the community in achieving goals in future. Effective communication must be carried out by BUMDES Bangun Mandiri to increase public awareness which is still not optimal in developing local village products that originate from village potential so that they can compete in the industrial world. The intended local products are also one of developing the local wisdom of Bekiung Village by prioritizing village potential that can be developed in the future. The method used in this study is a qualitative method, with the method used to produce research, namely the existence of a BUMDES Bangun Mandiri communication strategy to develop villages through emphasizing local wisdom as a village economic strength to create a prosperous society.

Abstract

Ground water or well water is the largest source of clean water used. The most common obstacle in using groundwater is the problem of iron (Fe) and calcium (CaC03) content in raw water. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of slow sand filtration to reduce Fe and CaCO3 levels in water. This type of research is a pure experimental study in a re-treatment design (One Group Pretest Posttest). The samples of raw water were taken from water pump wells owned by residents on JI. Datu Adam, Lere Village. Sample testing after slow sand filtering was carried out at the UPTD Laboratory of the Office of Environment, Donggala. The filter was carried out with a medium thickness of 45 cm sand, 5 cm gravel sand, 7 cm gravel and 5 cm high puddle water. Before filtering the test results Fe 0.4mg/L and CaCO3 546.37mg/L. Based on the effectiveness test of slow sand filtration with 3 treatments, it was found that the levels of substances after filtering were iron (Fe) 0.29, 0.21 and 0.I2 mg/L respectively, while calcium (CaCO3) was 273.41, 241.35 and 210.11 mg/L respectively. From these results, slow sand filtration is effective in reducing Fe and CaCO3 levels in water. The community is expected to be able to use simple filtering media such as slow sand filters to reduce iron (Fe) and calcium (CaCO3) levels in water. It is also expected to provide additional knowledge studies in the field of public health, especially environmental health.
