Abstract

This study aims to improve students' understanding of Mutala'ah, with a specific focus on the topic of Al-Babga', through the application of the Cooperative Script learning model. This study was conducted using a classroom action research design, which was carried out in two cycles, each consisting of four phases: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This study involved 24 students from class II-A at Galih Agung Private Junior High School, Darularafah Raya Islamic Boarding School. Data collection was carried out using learning outcome tests to measure understanding and activity observation sheets to assess student engagement and participation during the learning process. The results showed a significant increase in students' understanding of the material. At the beginning of the study, the average student score was 51.4, and only 42% of students met the minimum mastery criteria. After the implementation of the first cycle, the average score increased to 59.5, with 67% of students achieving mastery. In the second cycle, the average score increased significantly to 75.2, while the proportion of students who achieved mastery increased to 92%. These results show that the Cooperative Script Model is very effective in improving students' understanding of Mutala'ah material. In addition to improving learning outcomes, the use of the Cooperative Script approach also encourages active student participation and promotes collaboration.

Abstract

The development of digital technology and social media has created new opportunities for innovation in language learning, including Arabic. TikTok, as a short-video platform, offers interactive and engaging features that have the potential to enhance students’ learning experiences. This study aims to identify effective strategies for Arabic language instruction through TikTok and to provide practical recommendations for teachers. The method used in this research is a literature review, examining various sources related to the use of social media in Arabic language education. The findings show that teachers play a crucial role in designing, managing, and evaluating TikTok-based learning. The method used in this research is a literature review, examining various sources related to the use of social media in Arabic language education. Seven key strategies can be applied, namely microlearning, creative repetition for vocabulary, gamification, digital storytelling, collaboration through duet and stitch, visualization of qawa‘id through simple animations, and motivational content. Although effective in increasing students’ motivation and engagement, the use of TikTok also faces challenges such as internet access, distraction, limited editing skills, and digital ethics issues. Therefore, TikTok is recommended as a supplementary medium rather than the main source of instruction.

Abstract

This study examines linguistic errors in Arabic writing skills among students of the Arabic Language Department at STAIN Mandailing Natal, Indonesia. The study aims to identify the types of common writing errors and their underlying causes by employing Interlanguage Theory and Error Analysis as its theoretical framework, with the objective of contributing to the improvement of Arabic language instruction. The findings reveal that students experience various errors in spelling, morphology, syntax, and sentence structure, with a noticeable influence of their first language (Indonesian) on their written production. These errors reflect systematic patterns rather than random mistakes, indicating incomplete mastery of Arabic linguistic rules. The study recommends the implementation of innovative pedagogical approaches, including contrastive analysis, reinforcement of grammatical competence, and contextualized writing practice, to enhance students’ Arabic writing proficiency.
