Abstract

Shell and tube type heat exchanger is a component of clove essential oil distillation apparatus using hot steam as hot fluid and water as a cold fluid, each flowing in opposite directions. The distillation system in the field still uses a condenser or straight pipe heat exchanger, where the temperature of the hot fluid that comes out is still considered high enough so that the indication of effectiveness is not optimal. To optimize the effectiveness, a shell and tube heat exchanger is designed with a numerical method based on Fluent CFD using a hexagonal pipe geometry in tube layouts of 30°, 60°, 45°, and 90° inline and staggered arrangement and counter flow type. This study varied the cold mass flow rate (ṁc) = 0.052; 0.059; 0.083; 0.1; 0.12 Kg/s, while the mass flow rate of the hot fluid is constant. The simulation results obtained that the maximum effectiveness occurred at a mass flow rate of 0.052 kg/s of 5.45% staggered layout and the minimum occurred at a mass flow rate of 0.12 kg/s of 4.01% on an inline layout. The results of this research are also expected to help the community which can be used for various essential oils.

Abstract

Durian rind fiber composite as a reinforcement is one of the interesting research areas. Some of the advantages associated with using natural fibers due to reinforcement in polymers are their non-abrasive properties and low-cost consumption. Durian rind when processed further can be made into cellulose fiber which can be used as a natural filler in unsaturated polyester composites. Among various types of natural fibers, durian skin fiber is an alternative polymer composite filler. Durian skin can be obtained easily because it is a family waste that has not been used. To get a new composite material made from durian skin waste, and to help the community and government in handling durian skin waste. The purpose of this study was to determine the maximum value of the variation of the volume fraction of durian skin fiber on the impact strength and hardness strength according to the desired application. This study uses the Hand Lay Up method, in the manufacture of single fiber composites with variations in volume fraction of durian skin fiber: polyester matrix, namely, 10%: 90%, 20%: 80%, 30%: 70%, 40%: 60% and 50 %:50%. The results showed that there was an increase in the impact strength and hardness strength with the addition of the volume fraction, where the highest impact energy for the volume fraction of durian skin fiber was 50%: 50%, 0.7738 J, and the highest impact value was 0.0096725 J/mm² and energy the lowest impact is 10%: 90%, 0.461 J. and the lowest impact price is 0.0057685 J/mm². So it can be concluded that the impact strength and hardness of the durian skin fiber composite increased with the increase in the volume fraction of the fiber.

Abstract

Public transportation between the island seas is one of the economic backbones where Maluku Province is an archipelagic area. Ambon City as the capital of Maluku Province is a city with activities and interactions between communities using public transportation to support daily activities. However, due to the enactment of PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions) from June 23 to November 22, 2020, the number of public transportations (Perwali No. 18) is limited, with odd-even implementations up to passenger restrictions (6 people per trip), resulting in operational costs. Vehicles will increase. This study aims to find out how much the upper and lower limit tariffs are used for the community and students. In this study, the calculation method was used according to the Standards of the Directorate General of Land Transportation (2002) SK 687/AJ.206/DRDJ/2002. The results of the study show that the upper and lower tariff rates for the community in Nusaniwe District are Rp. 16,592 – Rp. 11,061,-; Sirimau District IDR 5,138 – IDR 3,425,-; and Baguala and Teluk Ambon Districts Rp. 25,000 – Rp. 16,666,-. The upper and lower limit rates for students in Nusaniwe District are Rp. 8,296 – Rp. 5,531,-; Sirimau District IDR 2,569 – IDR 1,712,-; and Baguala and Teluk Ambon Districts Rp 12,500 – Rp 8,333,-. Tariffs based on the BOK during the PSBB period ranged from Rp. 25,000 – Rp. 5,138,-, while the real tariff was Rp. 3,000 – Rp. 5,000.

Abstract

Geographical Information System-Based Structural Model in Sustainable Management of Coastal Areas which is the background is that the management of the coastal areas of Ambon City and Central Maluku Regency in the last 10-20 years has not been managed properly and sustainably so that various aspects of development do not work well causing various The problems include damage to the coastal physical environment, namely abrasion, erosion, and sedimentation, water damage due to pollution, damage to protective building infrastructure, coastal mitigation issues, declining quality of coastal environmental resources due to the increasing number of residents in coastal areas, causing the development of slum areas. coastal ecosystem. The purpose of the study is to determine the model and strategy for managing coastal areas in Ambon City and Central Maluku District in a sustainable manner. The method used in this research is the descriptive method. Primary data collection was carried out using a questionnaire for respondents from the community, expert respondents, community institutions, and policymakers. The analysis carried out is Sustainability Analysis with Multi Dimension Scale (MDS), geographic information system analysis, SEM structural analysis, Process Hierarchy analysis (AHP). The results of the sustainability analysis with MDS obtained the Multi-Dimensional Sustainability Index value of 50.13% is in the moderately sustainable category. The results of the SEM model analysis on the role of zoning and community roles in sustainable coastal area management is an acceptable “fit model”. The results of the AHP provide an overview of the assessment by policymakers in the implementation of the program, prioritizing the strategy for Management of Sustainable Coastal Area Management Based on Geographic Information Systems with an assessment score of 39.3%, with the largest presentation being “Coastal Area Arrangement in accordance with GIS-Based Zoning Laws” of 13, 6%.

Abstract

Laut adalah sumber potensial ekonomi dan energi, namun belum termanfaatkan dengan maksimal. Di sisi lain, kebutuhan listrik Indonesia pada tahun 2045 akan melampaui satu terawatt. Sumber energi konvensional sangat terbatas dan cenderung berkurang terlebih lagi perubahan iklim akan semakin membatasi pembangkitan listrik konvensional. Jadi, 60% energi harus dipenuhi dari energi terbarukan. Pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia yang pesat dan membaiknya keterhubungan transportasi memacu permintaan energi merata sampai ke pelosok desa dan pulau-pulau terkecil. Jadi quantum mechanics dan teknologi nano akan menjadi penentu pembangkitan listrik ramah lingkungan dari air laut. Hidrogen hijau berbasis teknologi nano akan menjadi energi alternatif menjanjikan. Pembangkit listrik terdesentralisasi dengan teknologi nano dan hydrogen hijau sangat tepat untuk desa dan pulau kecil mandiri energi. Satu unit pembangkit listrik nano grafit dengan elektroda setebal 1mm seluas 1 m2 sebanyak 20 lembar mampu membangkitkan listrik 1 kW sedangkan karbon aktif nano bambu mampu membangkitkan listrik seribu kali lipat. Nano partikel graphene dengan magnet mampu meningkatkan efisiensi produksi hydrogen dari air laut dari 51% menjadi lebih dari 85%. Bahkan nanobiophotocatalyst dari carbon aktif dan polyphenol mampu menghasilkan 10 kali lebih banyak hydrogen dari air laut dibandingkan photocatalyst semiconductor. Semua teknologi ini bahkan sangat unggul dipakai untuk menyimpan energi ke bentuk hydrogen saat kelebihan pembangkitan listrik dan menggunakan nya kembali ketika beban puncak dibandingkan teknologi yang ada.

Abstract

This paper deals with the design process of passenger trimaran ships provided to be operated in the archipelago regions. This specific ship and area are defined due to the need of transport passenger in the archipelago region. The problems of worse sea conditions, low passenger rate, safety, the need of fast passenger transport are solved with the existence of fast passenger trimaran. Several tasks were executed with the objective is to find design specification of the trimaran ships. The ships were designed based on the standart procedure in ship design. The input design, design process, design considerations and other requirements and rules were applied during design process. Two small trimaran multi-function were designed and built to be operated as fishing boat and restricted passenger transport. Meanwhile, two passenger trimarans were designed with the concepts of “wave piercing trimaran” and Small Waterplane Area-Wider Deck (SWA-WD) for the main hull form. The results of the task were proving the blue-print design. In, addition, one task is still condicting for design of Patrol Trimaran Boat. The results of those designs are presented in the paper including the design specifications and documents for each kind of trimaran ships. In conclusion, the design specifications are prepared for future ship construction. It is recommded that some ship design parameters should be confirmed before the construction stage.
