Abstract

Clinical nurses ought to exercise their clinical authority in accordance with the provisions outlined in the Clinical Assignment Letter and Details of Clinical Authority, as well as complete the credentialing process. However, this implementation has not been fully utilized or communicated to staff at Hospital. The aim of this research is to identify the mechanism for implementing clinical authority for PK I-III nurses upon receiving SPK in the inpatient room at Hospital X Jakarta. The research design utilizes the qualitative approach of hermeneutic phenomenology, and data collection is carried out through in-depth interviews. A total of 17 participants are involved, including 14 clinical nurses (PK I: 6, PK II: 6, PK III: 2), as well as 3 managerial nurses (2 heads of inpatient units and 1 inpatient coordinator). The thematic data analysis follows the Colaizzi method, and 3 themes emerge from the research findings: the application of clinical authority for PK I-III nurses, the availability of management elements in the application of clinical authority for PK I-III, and the lack of optimal management functions in the application of PK. The application of clinical authority in this research encompasses independent and collaborative actions, and it is essential to strengthen regulations, resocialize, and implement an electronic system to facilitate processes. To ensure that nurses work according to their qualification level, hospitals should reinforce regulations and supervision, provide support and commitment, and resocialize SPO, SPK, and RKK.

Abstract

This paper presents a critical discourse analysis of Donald Trump's tweets regarding COVID-19, utilizing Fairclough's three-dimensional model and Halliday's systemic functional linguistics to examine the language used. The analysis centers on two tweets that illustrate Trump's politicization of the pandemic and the propagation of stigmatization through social media. The research examines the stylistic and formal characteristics of Trump's tweets, focusing on his use of metaphorical language and blame-shifting tactics, specifically his labeling of COVID-19 as a 'Chinese virus.' The analysis also investigates discourse practices, connecting Trump's rhetoric on the U.S.-China trade agreement and pandemic response to wider political narratives. The study analyzes the socio-cultural implications of Trump's discourse at a macro level. It highlights how his discourse exacerbated xenophobia, nationalism, and social divisions during the global health crisis. The findings demonstrate that Trump's tweets influenced public perceptions and international relations, reinforcing anti-China attitudes and contributing to a polarized public response to the pandemic. This study emphasizes the significance of a critical and reflective approach to political communication, particularly during times of crisis. It also offers insights into the creation and dissemination of ideological narratives in the digital era.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between dividend policies and stock prices among companies listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange from 2010 to 2020. This study utilizes a descriptive analytical approach, drawing on data from annual financial statements and disclosures published by the Iraq Stock Exchange. This study employs a simple linear regression model to analyze the impact of dividends per share and retained earnings per share on the market share price. The findings indicate a negative, statistically insignificant relationship between cash dividends and share prices, whereas retained earnings show a direct positive and significant correlation with stock valuations. Prior research in the Iraqi context has identified cash liquidity as the main determinant of dividend payout decisions, with shareholders favoring regular distributions, regardless of ownership. Studies also find a positive link between profit retention, investment opportunities, and dividends. However, broader challenges facing emerging stock exchanges, such as underperformance, speculation, and a lack of investor knowledge, can negatively impact market performance. This study provides a comprehensive, long-term analysis of dividend payout-stock price dynamics in the Iraqi market, offering valuable insights into how this relationship manifests in an emerging economy setting. The results contribute to the theoretical understanding of the factors driving stock valuation, and have practical implications for investment strategies and corporate dividend policies in Iraq and similar markets. Key recommendations include advertising campaigns to encourage savings, providing investment advisory services, and improving financial disclosure to build investor confidence.

Abstract

Organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive and conducive learning environment in educational institutions. This study investigated the level of OCB among college members of the Physical Education and Sports Sciences Department at the University of Zakho from the perspective of their students. Using a quantitative, descriptive approach, structured questionnaires were administered to a diverse sample of 159 students, varying in sex, study shift, and year of study.  The findings revealed a significant acknowledgment of OCB among department members, as perceived by their students, indicating the positive impact of such behaviors on the overall academic climate. Interestingly, no statistically significant difference was observed in OCB perceptions between male and female students, which suggests an inclusive and equitable learning experience. However, a notable difference emerged between students attending morning and evening study shifts, highlighting the potential influence of factors, such as faculty availability and resource allocation. Furthermore, the study explored variations in OCB perceptions across different years of study, with fourth-year students reporting the highest mean score, potentially attributable to cumulative exposure and interactions with faculty members. However, these differences were not statistically significant, indicating a relatively consistent perception of OCB across academic progressions. This study contributes to a broader understanding of OCB in academic settings and its potential impact on overall learning experience. It provides valuable insights into fostering a culture of citizenship behavior within educational institutions and offers recommendations for professional development initiatives and targeted interventions to enhance OCB across various study programs.

Abstract

Linear smash, a potent offensive weapon in volleyball, demands complex biomechanical coordination and techniques. This study aimed to identify the biokinematic and goniometric variables of a linear smash and explore their relationship with explosive strength during performance. The research sample comprised 11 female volleyball players from the Sanharib Club. Physical tests measured explosive strength through vertical/forward jumps and medicine ball throws. The biokinematic variables included center of mass elevation/displacement, arch depth, movement time, and velocities. Goniometric variables measured the joint angles during execution. The video analysis software extracted variable values during players' smash attempts. Key findings revealed significant inverse correlations between explosive vertical jump strength and horizontal center-of-mass distance (-0.911) and between explosive medicine ball throw strength and horizontal distance (0.891). Additionally, a positive correlation existed between medicine ball throw strength and shoulder joint angle at the maximum arch (0.82). The vertical center of mass elevation was inversely correlated with the forward jump distance (-0.776). Strong but insignificant relationships emerged between variables such as horizontal speed/medicine ball throw and takeoff-landing distance/jump time. The results highlight the importance of the explosive strength for upward/forward propulsion and proper joint angles for efficient energy transfer during smashing. Recommendations include focusing on correlated variables through targeted training, utilizing joint ranges of motion, and incorporating additional biodynamic factors. This study provides insights into optimizing the linear smash through biomechanical analysis and training interventions.

Abstract

This study evaluates the application of the Compilation of Islamic Law in Indonesia (KHI) in the Supreme Court Decision Number 721/K/Ag/2015, which awarded half of the deceased's inheritance to the plaintiff, who had been married to the deceased under a false identity for seventeen years. Controversy arose from the religious differences of the deceased, who was declared Muslim, and the Christian burial process, raising questions about the validity of the marriage. Using a normative juridical research method, including statutory and analytical approaches, this analysis investigates the court's disregard of the KHI, despite its recognized authority within the Indonesian legal context, particularly in inheritance and bequest disputes. The research findings indicate that the court's reliance on the interpretation by Yusuf Al-Qardhawi instead of the KHI diminishes legal certainty. The study concludes that for better judicial consistency and fairness in inheritance cases, explicit consideration of the KHI is essential. This insight underscores the need for judicial adherence to established legal norms to maintain integrity and predictability in legal proceedings, which has significant implications for the legal community's approach to similar cases.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effects of a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) program on the physiological variables of young wrestlers. The significance of this study lies in its potential to identify effective training strategies to enhance the physiological capabilities of wrestlers, which are crucial for optimal performance. Despite the potential benefits of HIIT, research on its effects on young wrestlers is limited. The study utilized a pre- and post-test experimental design involving 14 young wrestlers from the Zakho Sports Club who were divided into control and experimental groups, each comprising seven wrestlers. The experimental group underwent a 9-week HIIT program, whereas the control group underwent a traditional training program. The physiological variables assessed included blood pressure, heart rate, lactic acid concentration, and anaerobic and aerobic powers. The results indicated significant improvements in the experimental group in terms of resting heart rate, heart rate after effort, lactic acid concentration, and aerobic power but not in blood pressure or anaerobic power. These findings confirm that HIIT can effectively enhance the physiological efficiency of young athletes and provide valuable methodological contributions to training programs for young wrestlers. This research demonstrates that HIIT effectively enhances athletes' physiological capacity and technical performance. This conclusion validates the idea that customized high-intensity and interval-based training can lead to substantial and advantageous physiological improvements in young wrestlers.

Abstract

This study investigated the attitudes of Slovene elementary school students towards multiculturalism and the effect of educational workshops on these attitudes. This research fills a gap in the existing literature as there is a lack of studies on the impact of multicultural workshops in Slovenia. This study employed a case study approach that focused on a specific elementary school. The literature review discusses the concept of multiculturalism, approaches to multicultural education, and attitudes of teachers and the general population towards multiculturalism. These findings suggest that children's attitudes towards multiculturalism can change over time if they are exposed to multicultural workshops and learn about multiculturalism. This study also highlights the lack of knowledge and experience among Slovene teachers regarding multicultural education. The results contribute to the understanding of multicultural education in the Slovenian context and provide insights into the effectiveness of educational workshops in shaping students' attitudes towards multiculturalism. This study has implications for educators and policymakers in designing and implementing multicultural education programmes in elementary schools.
