Journal of Computer Science and Information Technology is a threetly journal published by Universitas Putra Indonesia YPTK, Padang. It publishes scientific and technical papers describing original research work or novel product/process development. The objectives are to promote exchange of information and knowledge in research work, new inventions/developments of Computer Science and on the use of Information Technology towards the structuring of an information-rich society and to assist the academic staff from local and foreign universities, business and industrial sectors, government departments and academic institutions on publishing research results and studies in Computer Science and Information Technology through a scholarly publication. Abstract

Utilizing modern technology in the field of tomato farming can increase production yields and simplify the production process. Currently, the process of selecting tomatoes in agriculture is still done manually, taking up time and being less accurate. Land security in plantations is also an important factor in determining the production outcome. Therefore, the use of modern technology is needed to ensure regular and scheduled fertilizer distribution, improve the accuracy of the tomato selection process, and ensure the security of the plantation land by adding cameras and warning alarms. To address various problems in the tomato farming production process, the use of advanced technology is needed. The use of computer technology in agriculture can help farmers in monitoring the condition of the plants, planning and scheduling fertilizer distribution, and optimizing the tomato selection process based on size. With the technology, tomato farming production can run efficiently, increasing tomato farming yields and improving the quality of the tomatoes produced. The security of the plantation land will also be maintained with the addition of additional security systems such as cameras and alarms

Abstract

The learning process of Minangkabau cultural musical instruments is still carried out using book references and direct interaction with musical instruments to understand and comprehend the explanations of the existing musical instruments in Minangkabau culture. The learning process involves introducing each musical instrument one by one. Problem identification, data collection, system analysis, instrument system design, system testing using the designed instrument will provide an explanation of the learning process for introducing Minangkabau cultural musical instruments using Arduino Mega 2560 and a smartphone, which may offer insights into the material and sound of these musical instruments. The touch sensor utilized can facilitate the selection of musical instruments by simply touching, and the Arduino Mega 2560 employed can control the multimedia learning system for introducing musical instruments.

Abstract

Security system is a set of procedures, technologies, software, and hardware designed to protect an entity or environment from threats, attacks, or security breaches. The main purpose of a security system is to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data or protected resources. In the context of the need for playgrounds that also serve as learning environments prioritizing safety and comfort, concerns arise regarding the security of personal belongings storage. When visiting playgrounds, visitors often bring valuable items such as mobile phones, wallets, or other electronic devices. The aim of this research is to create an effective and integrated security system to protect the valuable belongings of playground visitors. The method involves the design and implementation of a security system consisting of QR-Code as an identification mechanism and fingerprint sensors as an additional security layer. Data is collected through system testing to evaluate the performance and reliability of the proposed security system. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to improving the safety and comfort of playground visitors and serve as a reference for similar security system research and development in the future.

Abstract

The advancement of science and technology motivates humans to address environmental issues, including environmental cleanliness. Waste, as one of the main problems, poses a serious threat to humans and the environment. Indonesia, as the world's second largest waste contributor, faces significant challenges, particularly from traditional markets. This issue requires active participation and awareness of traders, as well as government action in enforcing regulations. Robotics technology and the Internet of Things (IoT) offer innovative solutions. The use of microcontrollers and ESP32 CAM modules can help detect and monitor littering perpetrators. This system utilizes ultrasonic sensors and PIR sensors to detect motion and distance. Thus, community compliance with waste management regulations can be enhanced through effective monitoring and enforcement.This research aims to design a system based on Arduino Mega 2560 and IoT to improve community discipline and awareness.

Abstract

Interactive technology is part of technological developments that can attract the attention of various groups ranging from children, teenagers and the elderly. This interactive technology has developed evenly in various aspects, one of which is financial education. Financial education is an important aspect in the development of children so they can manage finances wisely from an early age. In this era, piggy banks are still used to teach children how to save money properly and correctly. However, children are slowly starting to get bored and their intention to save is decreasing, this is because the piggy bank still has a monotonous storage method and lacks appeal, so children are starting to lose interest in saving their money. One of the media that can increase children's interest in saving is an interactive piggy bank, this media is equipped with ESP32, button, LED, DFplayer, speaker, infrared sensor, color sensor, proximity sensor, stepper motor, relay, solenoid, 16x2 LCD and telegram so that The technology and media developed, interactive piggy banks not only calculate the total number of coins and banknotes, but can also interact directly with children and increase children's understanding of saving money in a good and correct way. By using this method, children will be interested in using interactive piggy banks. Slowly, children's interest in saving will begin to increase and they will start to get used to saving money again.

Abstract

Commonly used security systems, such as CCTV and electronic door locks, are not effective in preventing customers who are negligent in paying boarding room rentals. To overcome this problem, a Lock System has been developed that is integrated into boarding room doors. This system automatically records the rental payment schedule and locks the room door if payment has not been made on time. Room renters will be notified via the Android application to immediately make payment. The boarding house owner will receive a payment notification and can verify it via the available admin application. Thus, this Lock System helps boarding house business owners to manage rental payments more efficiently and improve security effectively.

Abstract

The development of technology using biometrics has become a trend that is currently widely used in the modern era. This involves an identification process using biological information such as fingerprints, retinas, and other body parts. The problem that occurs is the identity check before entering the departure gate which is done manually, such as looking at the E-KTP officer, the passenger's face according to the KTP, and the ticket. Airport officials will ensure that the passenger has the correct ticket, check identity and then compare the similarities between the personal data stated therein, before confirming that the data is the same and meets security requirements before allowing entry onto the plane. The departure gate security system utilizes Esp32-Cam input, Rfid Reader, Fingerprint Sensor and Esp8266 output, Google Sheet, Servo, LED, LCD and Buzzer. Esp32-Cam can verify faces, then the LCD will display information that the face verification was successful, the fingerprint sensor detects fingerprints and the RFID Reader detects E-KTP. This tool is processed with an Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller as a connection.

Abstract

Water surfing has become a tourism industry worth billions, where millions of surfers travel around the world to several water surfing destinations in search of the 'perfect wave'. It is now estimated that there are more than 10 million water surfers in the world and this continues to increase at 12-16% per year. These surfers also visit places in the world that they feel are in harmony with what they are looking for. In one place they visited there were surfboard rental kiosks.Surfboard rental service sellers will serve visitors to rent their surfboards. Because there are too many surfboard enthusiasts, it is too difficult for surfboard rental service sellers to serve visitors. From these problems, a system is needed that can simplify the process and data collection of surfboard borrowing.

Abstract

Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) based technology as a motorbike security system. Apart from that, multi-layered security measures are implemented by utilizing the Global Positioning System (GPS) and microcontroller to provide information about the motorbike's position in real-time. Furthermore, this research involves designing an Internet of Things (IoT) based security system using the NodeMCU wifi module as the main processor. This system can trigger relays to carry out motorbike safety commands, such as turning off the engine, and provide early warnings via a smartphone application. Previous research was also involved in developing an IoT-based security system using RFID sensors, voltage sensors and vibration sensors. This research tries to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of the system by involving the latest technology. Based on this background, researchers propose the design of a multi-layered security system that is able to identify motorbike users. Abstract

On campus, the security of student and employee belongings is crucial. Currently, the security system for safes still relies on manual locks or card keys, which are vulnerable to theft and fraud. Therefore, the development of a more sophisticated and secure security system is necessary. One solution is to utilize the Time-Based One Time Password (OTP) algorithm to strengthen locker security. The OTP algorithm generates a unique password each time a user opens the locker, making it more difficult for unauthorized parties to access. Furthermore, the use of fingerprint technology and Telegram as a medium for sending OTP codes can also enhance system security. Fingerprints are used to identify authorized users, while Telegram is used to send OTP codes to users. This tool is processed with an Arduino Mega 2560 microcontroller as a connection.
