Descriptive statistics was used to analyze data collected through the administration of questionnaire. Research findings showed that a great number of students of Library and Information Science are addicted to social media for wrong academic purposes. The levels of addiction varied according to four Likert scale type. The highly addiction was among student using WhatApp (40.82%) and not addicted among students using BB chat (13.12%). The demographic indicators provided the obvious results of singles (77.78%) possessing prevalence tendency of addiction, and surprisingly those between the ages of 27-30 (40%) were most addicted. The paper recommends awareness programmes that are tailored to reveal the ills of social media addiction and pave ways to balance use of social media platforms that benefit academic activities among students.

Three research questions were stated to examine accessibility, usability and challenges while the tested hypotheses were concerning prospects of Google Classroom for University of Ilorin undergraduates' learning across gender and departmental divides. Both descriptive statistics (Research Questions) and inferential statistics (Hypothesis) were employed in analysing data collected gathered. Significant findings revealed that Google Classroom holds prospects for innovative instructional approach for university undergraduates’ learning. However, there is a need to improve its level of accessibility to undergraduates to maximise its gains by making efforts to alleviate the challenges militating against smooth access to ensure sustainability in higher education in sub-Saharan Africa, apt in the current pandemic era.

Abstract

Economics is the study of how humans choose and create wealth. Through economics, humans can think and make decisions in allocating their resources appropriately. The limited availability of the variety of questions used in microeconomics courses has encouraged researchers to compile scientific-based Student Activity Sheets (LKM) and Problem Based Learning (PBL). The purpose of this study is to describe (1) feasibility, (2) effectiveness, and (3) practicality of developing scientific-based Student Activity Sheets (LKM) and Problem Based Learning (PBL) in the Introduction to Microeconomic Theory course. This type of research is development research. using the Borg and Gall (1983) model. The trial subjects in this development research were students of the economic education study program. The results showed that the percentage of development feasibility was 94% in the very feasible category, the percentage of effectiveness showed that students obtained a learning mastery score above 75% in the effective and complete category, and the practicality percentage obtained a score of 99.5 in the practical category. It can be concluded that the development of the Student Activity Sheet is feasible to apply.

The study used descriptive research designs. The population for the study consisted 17,551. The sample for the study consisted 204 prepaid user customers selected using stratified sampling techniques. The sample was calculated using Fishers (1995) which has ideal formula for targeted population. The instrument used for the study was questionnaire namely “Customer Education and Satisfaction of Prepaid Meter Usage in Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company”. Cronbach Alpha (?) was used to test validity of the research instrument. The output gave Reliability Statistics which showed Cronbach's alpha of 0.701. Data collected were be analyzed using inferential statistics. The results showed that majority at 32.4% (66) of the sampled users of prepaid meters agreed that there has been no disconnection, and there is no need to pay a re-connection fee when using prepaid meter while 18.6% strongly disagreed with the claimed; the system is disadvantageous to the poor and showed that 5.9% (12) of the sampled customers highly dissatisfied with the respect to prepaid meter usage in Ile-Ife, 17.6 % (36) dissatisfied with the prepaid meter usage while 38.7% (79) of the customers satisfied with the usage of prepaid meter and 37.7 % (77) of the customers highly satisfied with the usage of prepaid meter in Ile-Ife.
