Abstract

The objectives of this study are: (1) to develop encyclopedia-based natural disaster mitigation teaching material supplements in geography learning in Senior High School, (2) to measure the level of validity of encyclopedia- based natural disaster mitigation teaching material development in geography learning in Senior High School and (3) to measure the level of practicality of encyclopedia-based natural disaster mitigation teaching material development in geography learning in Senior High School. This research is a type of research and development (R&D). The model used is the ADDIE model with five stages namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The instruments used in this research are product validity and practicality instruments. The results of this study are 1) products that are declared valid based on product validity tests conducted by 3 expert validators namely; learning design experts, material/content experts, and linguists with an average assessment score from the three validators of 4, 74 and are in the valid category, 2) products that are declared practical based on product practicality tests conducted by 14 test subjects namely students in class XII SMA Negeri 3 Takalar and 1 practitioner namely geography subject teacher with a percentage of assessment response of 86%. Thus it can be concluded that the encyclopedia-based natural disaster mitigation teaching materials developed are valid and practical. Natural disaster mitigation teaching materials that have been declared valid and practical can then be used in learning geography in high schools, especially on natural disaster mitigation material.

Abstract

Video demonstrations are applied corresponding to direct learning and provide support for students to have complete knowledge that requires repetition in the domination of the concept. This study analyzes the influence of implementing video demonstrations in the direct learning setting of foodstuffs chop on the knowledge level and the performance level learning outcomes. Forty students of the 11th culinary class at SMKN 1 Cerme Gresik were involved in this quantitative study using a pretest-posttest design. This study employed observation and test methods using observation sheets of learning implementation, performance observation sheets, and multiple-choice test questions. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 program to answer the proposed hypothesis. The SPSS output shows a significance of .000 <.05, which shows that the application of video demonstrations of foodstuffs chop in direct learning settings has a significant effect on learning outcomes at the level of knowledge. Meanwhile, the SPSS output for performance level learning outcomes shows .000 <.05, it shows that the application of video demonstrations of foodstuffs chop in direct learning settings has a significant effect on performance level learning outcomes. This study recommends using other demonstration videos, such as animated videos, and live videos to find out the effectiveness of each and the teacher can choose the most effective demonstration videos.

Abstract

This studied aims to produce practical and effective cooperative problem solving oriented teaching materials to improve student learning outcomes in optical material. This research was carried out in three stages, namely defining, designing, and developing teaching materials by implementing 4 teaching materials for 18 class VIII students of SMP Negeri 3 Makassar in the fourth semester of the 2014/2015 school year used the one group pretest posttest design and the results research was analyzed with descriptive analysis techniques. The research data obtained: the validator's assessment of lesson plans, Student Books, LKPD, and assessment sheets with valid categories. Assessment of Student Books and LKS also had a very high level of legibility. The implementation of lesson plans with a score of 3,99 was categorized as well implemented. N-gain student knowledge learning outcomes increased 0,63 and student learning outcomes problem solving skills increased 0,72. Students gave a positive response to the learning activities of the CPS model. The results of the research show that learning tools with the CPS model are valid, practical, and effective for improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

In a distribution or disbursement of aid funds for the Smart Indonesia Program, it is necessary to monitor and evaluate the implementationSmart Indonesia Program or disbursement of financial aidSmart Indonesia Program in JHS 2 Plered, so that you can find out what are the deficiencies and obstacles in implementing the program. that have been determined so that they can be corrected so that they can provide better service and supervision for students and parents of receiving studentsSmart Indonesia Program. The research method that we use is a qualitative research method with a type of research that is a case study. Researchers use the theory according to Duncan, namely (i) achieving goals, (ii) integration, and (iii) adaptation. Implementation research resultsSmart Indonesia Program at the JHS 2 Education Level, Plered has been running but not optimal, because it is still not certain who will receive it Smart Indonesia Program right on target because it takes time for monitoring or surveys to come to their homes, as well as the lack of supervision from the Dinas Pendidikan Purwakarta Office regarding the use or disbursement of financial aid Smart Indonesia Program.

Abstract

Teaching Practice Experience Program is one of the mandatory courses for all students of the faculty of education. This activity aims to provide real experience for students as prospective teachers. This study described prospective teachers' difficulties in practical teaching during their field practice experience program in Langsa, Aceh, Indonesia. This study applied a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study type of research. The participants were selected purposively. They were the seventh-semester students of the English Department who had conducted field practice experience consisting of 6 students. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews. The result revealed that among the barriers they encountered during their field practice experience were difficulties in facilitating a vibrant classroom atmosphere, teaching by using English, selecting and implementing appropriate methods or techniques, especially in teaching writing skills and challenges to execute lesson plans. Henceforth, this research contributes to enrich the literatures of field teaching practice and the barriers found, so it can be a valuable reference in the next research to provide the solution of the problems.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability of class XII students of SMA Cokroaminoto Tamalanrea Makassar to solve geometry problems in terms of their spatial ability. This was a qualitative study with a descriptive approach. The selected subjects were three students in the 2022/2023 academic year. The selected subjects consisted of one from the high category of spatial abilities, one from the medium category, and one from the low category. The instruments in this study consisted of the main instrument, namely the researcher, and supporting instruments, namely spatial ability tests, problem-solving ability tests, and interview guidelines. Checking the validity of the data using source triangulation. Based on the results of the data analysis, it was concluded that: (1) students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in geometric materials with high spatial abilities were able to solve problems with four stages of problem-solving ability indicators: understanding the problem, preparing a solution plan, carrying out the settlement plan, and re-checking the solution; (2) students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in geometric material with moderate spatial abilities were able to solve problems with three stages of problem-solving ability indicators: understanding the problem, developing a solution plan, and carrying out the settlement plan; (3) students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in geometric material with low spatial abilities were not able to solve problems with four stages of problem-solving ability indicators, namely understanding the problem, planning the problem, carrying out the problem-solving plan, and re-checking the solution.

Abstract

The study aims to develop a challenge appraisal scale for detecting a challenged attitude of students in responding to various academic challenges and difficulties in higher education. The research sample consisted of 309 students from various departments at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Data analysis techniques used to evaluate the psychometric property of the scale were carried out using the item discriminating analysis, reliability analysis, and exploratory factor analysis. The results showed that the items had good discriminating power with a value range of 0.381 – 0.626, good Cronbach's alpha reliability with a value of 0.823, and the factor structure of the scale construct consisted of two aspects, namely primary appraisal and secondary appraisal with loading factor values ranging from 0.578 – 0.816. Based on this study, it is known that the Challenge Appraisal Scale is suggested to have valid and reliable instrument property so that it can be used for detecting challenged attitudes of students.
