Abstract

This research discusses the law of moving corpses from one country to another. The first goal is to find out the laws of moving corpses from one country to another. The second is knowing the law of moving bodies from a cemetery to another cemetery. The scientific approach used by researchers consists of the following: inductive approach, deductive approach, and comparative approach. The results of this research are: first, the law of moving corpses from one country to another. Maliki believes that it is permissible to transport them as long as it does not result in a violation of sanctity, ugliness, or change, while Hanbali says it is makruh to move them without any intention, and Hanafi says it is makruh to move them beyond a distance of 2 km. Meanwhile, Syafi'i has two opinions, namely the first opinion that the law is haram and the second opinion that it is makruh. Second, the law of moving a body from one grave to another is essentially haram, unless it is forced, for example, to be buried in a mosque or on confiscated land, in which case it must be moved, namely for the benefit of the Muslim community, for example, the expansion of a mosque, then this is permissible.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the ruling on musical instruments according to Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah in Indonesia by comparing their views with those of scholars from the four major Islamic legal schools. It also discusses the reasons behind their differences, identifies the stronger opinion (rājih), and examines the methodology used by both organizations in addressing and determining legal rulings. The study further compares these methodologies with those employed by classical jurists. The researcher adopts three approaches: an inductive approach to compile the disputed issues between the two organizations, an analytical approach to examine and analyze those issues, and a deductive approach to explore the methods used in determining legal rulings. The study finds that the two organizations differ in their general views on musical instruments (al-maʿāzif), resulting in two primary opinions: prohibition (ḥarām) and permissibility (mubāḥ). This divergence stems from their differing reliance on the principle of original permissibility and their evaluation of the authenticity of hadiths that prohibit musical instruments. Those who consider the prohibition hadiths as strong argue that musical instruments are forbidden, while those who weaken these hadiths—even if narrated in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī—base their position on the original principle of permissibility.

Abstract

This is a brief research on the types of nullification mentioned in the prophetic texts, and I named it: "Types of nullifications mentioned in the prophetic Sunnahs." It aims to explain the concept of nullification, and some related terms such as non-acceptance and invalidity. The research consists of an introduction, three chapters, and a conclusion. As for the introduction, it contains the importance of the research, its problems, objectives, and limits. Then the first chapter discusses the concept of nullification, and the second chapter discusses the types of nullification mentioned in the prophetic Sunnah, then the third chapter discusses the paths of scholars in explaining the meaning of nullification of work, then the conclusion, which includes the most important results of the research. In this research, I will follow the inductive, analytical, and critical approach, so that I will track the hadiths from the books of Sunnah, then analyze them through the research topic by looking at the nullifying work, then talk about these hadiths, and judge them according to the approach of the hadith scholars. Among the most important results of the research: Reporting that the nullifications mentioned in the Sunnah are divided into general and partial, including that the nullifications are specific to major sins, and including the clarification that the correct approach requires the correct understanding of the pure Sunnah.

Abstract

The topic of maqāṣid al-ʿaqīdah (the higher objectives of Islamic creed) is a central issue in Islamic theology and Qur’anic studies. The stories within the Qur’an play a vital role in reinforcing the foundations of belief, deepening the understanding of Qur'anic texts, and actualizing them in building sound faith among Muslims. These stories also function as tools of daʿwah and vehicles for delivering Qur’anic messages, offering advice, lessons, clarity, guidance, and wisdom. This study aims to approach the meanings of maqāṣid al-ʿaqīdah through Qur’anic stories, taking the story of Prophet Ayyub (peace be upon him) as a case study. The research employs an inductive-analytical methodology by collecting and examining Qur’anic verses related to Ayyub’s story and identifying the objectives of creed conveyed through his experiences and conditions. The analytical method is applied to explore the values and creedal objectives reflected in these verses. The study finds that the verses detailing the story of Prophet Ayyub convey profound Qur’anic objectives such as steadfastness in faith, contentment with divine decree, and complete reliance on Allah during severe trials. The story also highlights key theological themes such as servitude, lordship, monotheism, divine justice, as well as various levels of patience and gratitude. Furthermore, it presents essential lessons about life’s trials and tests, along with ethical and spiritual values that every believer should embody on their journey toward Allah.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the concept of mafʿūl bih (direct object) in Arabic and Indonesian, focusing on similarities and differences between the two languages and describing their respective usage methods. It also seeks to contribute to addressing the difficulties and errors faced by Indonesian-speaking learners of Arabic, especially in understanding and applying the concept of mafʿūl bih. The study is limited to comparing formal Arabic (fuṣḥā) and standard Indonesian in terms of the mafʿūl bih, using a descriptive-analytical-comparative method. The analysis involves three main steps: first, a linguistic description of mafʿūl bih in both languages; second, identification of similarities and differences; and third, prediction of potential learning difficulties arising from those differences. Key findings include: both languages share common features, such as mafʿūl bih being an additional element in the sentence and its ability to occur more than once and typically at the end. However, differences include Arabic allowing up to three direct objects for some verbs, while Indonesian generally limits this to two. Furthermore, mafʿūl bih in Arabic is identified by grammatical case markings (ʿirāb), whereas in Indonesian, it is identified by sentence position. Arabic also allows three structural variations of mafʿūl bih, while Indonesian generally maintains a fixed structure. These differences represent major obstacles for Indonesian-speaking learners of Arabic.

Abstract

Muṣṭafā al-Ghalāyīnī’s ʿIẓat al-Nāshīʾīn is a renowned work known for instilling values of morality, etiquette, and nationalism since colonial times. The phenomena of taqdīm (preposing) and taʾkhīr (postposing) in this text play a crucial role in shaping the reader’s understanding of the content, making it essential to clarify their meanings to avoid misinterpretation of the intended message. This study aims to identify the types of taqdīm and taʾkhīr in the core components of nominal sentences (jumla ismiyyah) and explain their purposes as found in ʿIẓat al-Nāshīʾīn. The study adopts a qualitative methodology, applying three approaches: descriptive for data analysis, library research for data collection and object study, and theoretical linguistics as the analytical framework. Data were collected from 1,120 sentences across 44 sections, with 15 selected purposively as samples. The data collection technique used is simak (observation), including listening, transcribing, and recording, followed by analysis using the distributional method with direct constituent analysis and syntactic segmentation. The findings reveal variations of taqdīm and taʾkhīr in nominal sentence structures, totaling 533 sentences. These include obligatory and permissible preposing/postposing of the subject (mubtadaʾ) and predicate (khabar), including in kāna and inna constructions. The purposes of taqdīm and taʾkhīr include emphasis, specification, drawing special attention, comparison, reasoning, expression of hope, reinforcement of meaning, informing unaware interlocutors, semantic restriction (qaṣr), and affirming intent or eliminating doubt. The study recommends that future researchers analyze taqdīm and taʾkhīr in verbal sentences (jumla fiʿliyah), understand the order of core versus supplementary elements (ʿumda vs. faḍla), or adopt a historical-comparative linguistic (diachronic) approach.
