The Indonesia Journal of Business Administration(IJBA) is a business journal that bridges the gap between business research and practice, evaluating and reporting on new research to help readers identify and understand significant trends in their fields. The IJBA seeks to publish papers relating to business, broadly defined. It publishes articles that address both theoretical and practical issues in the broad areas of Business Strategy and Marketing, People and Knowledge Management, Entrepreneurship and Technology Management, Decision Making and Strategic Negotiation, Operation and Performance Management, and Business Risk and Finance.Contributing academicians and researchers are encouraged to address a variety of concerns relating to all areas of business. We also encourage students to use an interdisciplinary approach to analyzing a topic, which often yields interesting and novel papers. The published articles provide valuable insight into matters of broad intellectual and practical concern to academicians and business professionals. The Journalis published three times a year: in April, July and October. The journal is mainly an outlet of MBA ITB students to publish their final project works, although it also accepts articles written by students at masters level from other institutions. A published paper is an honor that will be unambiguously beneficial for professional and academic careers, especially for those who want to attend graduate/professional schools. This means that papers written in relations to Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management, Operations Management, Information Systems, Business Law, Corporate Ethics, and Public Policy all qualify for submission. Information on the journal format can be found in the journal's website. The number of pages must be at 10 pages. Abstract

a change in resource availability has been a concern of various parties. With the rapid economic growth in many parts of the world, global GDP is expected to increase from U.S. $ 70 trillion in 2008 to U.S. $ 135 trillion (increase 95%) in 2030. At the same time, the world population will grow from 6.7 billion people to 8.2 billion people. This phenomenon has prompted the more responsible and sustainable way to resource management, including resource management best-practice. Recent research from McKinsey suggests that the corporate sustainability practice has increased the ability of businesses to compete in the market. Recently, PT. X Indonesia has planned to implement corporate sustainable initiatives are more integrated, systematic, and continuous-based. Considering that corporate sustainability is a wide scope corporate initiative which involved many stakeholders both internal and external, PT. X Indonesia is very concerned about how to approach sustainability most effectively to gain sustainability competitive advantage through leverage their capabilities and will reduce future risk to sustainable growth of company’s business. The author has proposed the use of sustainability integration into business management systems through PDCA cycle of continuous improvement based on integrated management system approach. This solution would be basis to further develop PT. X Indonesia sustainability management practice in the areas of control, integration, and performance management. Implementation of final project is expected to optimize corporate sustainability initiatives to gain competitive advantage by ensuring their alignment to the achievement of business objectives and provide clarity and flexibility in managerial, measurement and assessment. Abstract

Abstract. Automated Meter Reading (AMR) is technology used in electricity meter that able to monitor the customer’s electricity usage remotely. DMR or Data Monitoring Report is the feature in existing AMR system which function is to analyze the load profile data from meters. Load profile data is a powerful database to analyze customer's electricity usage, but due to the difficulty of operating and less friendly user interface, it was only used for billing purposes. With this system, the data analysis harder to be done because need to consolidate data from 9 (nine) locations manually, and the success of load profile data downloaded also not well monitored. Started from those problems, came the idea to develop new Data Management Report System as Business Process Improvement (BPI) that expected to be able to close the “holes.” The new system called MONAS (Monitoring dan Analisa AMR Sistem). The objective of this research is to develop new Data Monitoring Report for AMR System as the business solution and assess the performance of new system in several parameters: productivity, cost, time and quality. This research methodology utilizes quantitative with purposive sampling technique which object the employees of Disjaya categorized in a4 types: active user, passive user, management and system developer. The objective of survey is to dig in the user’s perspective about the performance improvement as the impact of MONAS implementation. Next, to get to know either our organization is already done BPI, it needs to be compared. This research compares the previous performance with the current and the current performance with the other benchmarked company. As the result, MONAS succeed to improve : productivity (to 13.75 times), cost (to 26 times more efficient), time (to 23 times faster) and quality (29.78% better than previous system). MONAS also succeed to answer the problems by increasing the success rate of load profile data. Having higher percentage of load profile data downloaded combined with complex calculation, could enhance the finding of electricity usage abnormalities. As recommendation, MONAS needs to be enhanced in features to increase response time, capital capacity (server) should be ready with more number of customers and prepare MONAS to be implemented in national scale. Keywords: Automated Meter Reading (AMR), Business Process Improvement (BPI), MONAS (Monitoring danAnalisa AMR Sistem)

Abstract

Abstract.Indonesia Mengajar is a non-profit organization focusing in education movement. Indonesia Mengajar believes that it is every citizen’s duty to fulfill the constitution promises to educate the nation. Indonesia Mengajar main program is assigning young teacher to serve as a teacher for a year in rural areas of Indonesia. Along with young teacher program, Indonesia Mengajar also initiates various education movements involving volunteers from all over Indonesia.The corporation sector has supported the funds since the organization first established and still become the largest contributors in supporting the organization’s operational expenses. However, the development of Indonesia Mengajar had encourages many audiences to contribute in education movement. To accommodate these audiences, Indonesia Mengajar launch a new funding scheme for institution and public donors in 2014.Research was conducted through internal organization, public individual, institution, and corporation to gain perspective from various audiences about involvement and support in education movement and Indonesia Mengajar. The collected data were analyzed using SWOT and PESTEL to get current situation analysis.Managing non-profit organization is quite similar with for-profit organization. The difference only occurs in the differentiation between maximizing profit in for-profit organization and leveraging social impact in non-profit organization. Thus, implementation business strategy can also be applied in non-profit organization with certain adjustment. The author recommends adapting New Wave Marketing as a strategy to engage the donors. The implementation of 12Cs in New Wave Marketing theory would be a consistent approach for Indonesia Mengajar to improve the effectiveness in fundraising through involvement and social networking.Keywords: non-profit organization, education, movements, volunteers, donation, involvement, fundraising, business strategy, marketing strategy, social responsibility, community development.

Abstract

Looking forward business situations, management  of PT Krakatau Steel (Tbk) including Direct Reducton Plant (DRP),  tries to increase employee productivity by streamlining the organization and letting position left by retired person empty, but on the  other side there is a generation gap between experienced existing personnel and new hired employee. Another aspect in DRP is increasing capacity by implementing Zero Reformer Process (ZR) and decreasing raw material handling stockyard which is used by new Blast Furnace (BF) project,  Decreasing person and increasing capacity may bring operational difficulties and not optimal in DR Plant  maintenance. To achieve productivity targets and avoiding operational and maintenance difficulties, there are two major possibilities, 1. Not outsourcing which are: keeping current  organization and contract scheme condition (do nothing), applying new organization structure which eliminating and merging some position, and operating without any outsource personnel. 2. outsourcing, which are: manpower contract for Operation & Maintenance (O&M)., maintenance service contract, full maintenance contract (include spare part) and Full O&M Contract. Each option is given the advantage, disadvantage and constraints including cost, risk and also  government regulations . To choose options, we use AHP process, comparimg each alternative with predicted cost and risk factor for each option. The result of the study brings Operation & Maintenance Contract (O&M) is the most suitable among options. Implementing this option may need preparation in reviewing existing contract and preparation in completing equipment data and procedures. This study took part in pellets raw material handling process which decision steps can also be applied to other location in DR Plant and possibility for whole factory. Keywords: maintenance , raw material handling, not optimal,  risk, AHP, outsourcing.

Abstract

Telecommunication industry in Indonesia is one of industry with high growth and futuristic. In the era of digital world, telecommunication industry players vying to attract customers with sustainable innovation. Celuller products and service that increase quite rapidly, accounted for mostly revenue stream in telecommunication companies. PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia or Telkom is an important and big player in Indonesia telecommunication industry. Telkom is a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) company engaged in telecommunication industry. When compared to others two SOE companies in same field, Telkom has now changed its core business to TIME (Telecomunication Information Media & Edutainment) with branch offices throughout indonesia. Headquarters is located in Bandung city and become the business center of all activities. Referred to its GCG (Good Corporate Governance), Telkom made the triple bottom line strategy as main strategy to enlarge its share in national, regional even international market. The implementation elements of the environment, social and economic will be redeemable in one are revitalization model. Considering of Telkom headquarters location, Bandung is the pilot project city to improve company image. This good imaging led to sales and trust increases of consumers mbusiness activities. The focus of this paper is to give idea of triple bottom line strategy implementation through a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) model for marketing ‘tools’. The method used is green marketing plan approach because its same elements of triple bottom line. Some corporate strategy, CSR concept and green marketing recommendations will be proposed in this paper. New ideas generated in pilot project model of Cikapundung riverbank slums area revitalization which also an implementation of green marketing plan and triple bottom strategy of Telkom. However, in marketing activities implementation, the strategy has not yet become a conduct core of business activities. The focus of this paper is to give idea of triple bottom line strategy implementation through a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) model for marketing ‘tools’. Abstract. PT Demarko Technology Innovation is a subsidiary of PT Demarko Sinar Kemenangan. It was founded in purpose of research, development, and invention in applied technology and industry. Nowdays, the company has develop and maximize its invention in industry field including production of penetration 60/70 asphalt. Based on asphalt supply-demand data, national asphalt demand has not been meet with the availability of asphalt, that there is quite huge gap between supply and demand. Based on company’s data, in recent years, company has a stagnate production capacity and revenues. In this condition, company has to be able to grab the opportunity of huge asphalt market in Indonesia. This study will try to analyse what strategy that suite for the company to face this condition.To formulate business strategy, this study will use some of management tools. This study will analyse internal and external factor of the company, current strategy and its weaknesses, try to find root cause to solve the problem, and formulate business strategy with business model canvas, TOWS matrix and diamond strategy. From TOWS matrix, it shows that PT Demarko Technology Innovation is located in Quadrant I in Strength-Opportunities(S-O) area, so the company potentially to growth. With TOWS matrix, business model canvas and diamond strategy, PT Demarko Technology Innovation expected to be able to supply more asphalt for Indonesian asphalt demand, company need to applied an aggressive strategies through increase promotion and partnerships,buy new production machine and also expand its marketing area. With diamond strategy, company’s strategies will be based on arena that company will faced, differentiators from competitors, vehicle to achieve, staging to achieve, and economic logic the proposed strategies. To implement the proposed strategies, the company need to implement it through each of functional division, consist of marketing strategy, financial strategy, research and development strategy, operational strategy, human resource strategy, and information technoogy strategy, and also human resource allocation. Abstract

Trade between Batam and Singapore are quite high as Batam is designated for export oriented industrial area. Currently shipping price is considered too high by the service users. It is also demanded to be more frequent. The high shipping price is believed to be caused by cartel among the existing shipping company owned by Singaporean. This situation creates an opportunity for the shipping industry between Batam and Singapore. StarPillar Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore based company which operates in concrete foundation pillar manufacturing. It is planning to form a joint venture with PT. Trans Buana Logistics to create a shipping company and take the existing market opportunity with the name of PT. Star Trans Logistics. Before deciding to make the investment decision they need to analyze whether transshipment business will be feasible in the emerging market opportunity or not. The market opportunity analysis is conducted by analyzing marketing feasibility and financial feasibility of the investment project. Market opportunity shows that there are needs of shipping service. With the estimated capabilities of PT, Star Trans Logistics the transshipment business is considered as marketing feasible. Financial feasibility is represented by NPV, IRR, payback period, and profitability of the index. The project yields NPV of S$ 3,804,017, IRR of 15.10%, payback period of 4 years 3.3 months, and profitability index of 1.49. Abstract

Abstract- This research is intended to find wether equity research and stock split may create stock liquidity in Indonesia Stock Exchange, effectively. Stock liquidity is measured with liquidity ratio. Hypothesis testing is needed to prove that there are significant increase in stock liquidity after stock split or equity research conducted as well as to determine what kind of listed companies should be permitted to conduct stock split.  The results are equity research increased stock liquidity significantly, stock split increased liquidity at announcement date but it is non significant and liquidity of listed companies with higher stock prices increased significantly when they conducted stock split.   Key word: equity research, stock split, stock liquidity

Abstract. Prima Rasa Bakery and Pastry is a family owned bakery and pastry shop which located in Bandung, Indonesia.  The bakery was established in 1986 by Theresia Yuliaty . The company is working in food retailers, bakers business activities. It is selling a wide variety of cake, bread, and snack. Research conducted from the internal and external analysis  and brand equity of Prima Rasa Bakery and Pastry. Internal analysis conducted by performing analysis on Segmenting, Targeting, Positioning (STP) and Marketing Mix (7P) and external analysis by conducted 5C’s of Prima Rasa Bakery and Pastry’s business environment. While brand equity is performed by analyzing Brand Awareness, Brand Loyalty, Brand Association, and the Perceived Quality. However old players competitor such as Kartika Sari, Mayasari and etc has already established great brand recognition as the “trademark souvenir bakery of Bandung” especially among customers from outside Bandung and some of them also has more bakery stores in Bandung and offer delivery service to customers outside the city.Root causes obtained from this research were the service was less optimized and the company does not focus on the right target market eventhough the industry’s comptitiveness is keep increasing. Therefore by conducting the clustering analysis method to choose the right target market for Prima Rasa Bakery and Pastry and also using the right approach for the marketing strategy implementation.In performing the marketing strategy activities, Prima Rasa Bakery and Pastry should emphasize the primary targets that focus on quality, price, and services. The most effective promotion is through Official Website, Social Media, and Catalogue, also considered to increase the product awareness. Beside the promotion, Prima Rasa Bakery and Pastry should also give discount, bonus, and offer seasonal event product to the customers. Abstract. In a coal mining operation, maintenance of mining equipment holds significant roles that influence overall productivities. From cost point of view, maintenance of mining equipment has a serious impact as well to the cost of production. And, on behalf of maintenance activities, the availability of components and the reliability of component supply is strategic because without components there is no maintenance of mining equipment. The main purpose of this thesis is to scrutinize the strategy of maintenance of mining equipment components that satisfy demand from mining equipment maintenance activities. This thesis suggests comprehending the knowledge and skill of managing the aspects of component maintenance; that will help supplying mining equipment components for maintenance activities in most efficient and effective ways.Key Words:Material Managements, Rotable Spare Parts Management, Repairable Spare Parts Management, Inventory Policy
