Abstract

Socio-religious behavior is carrying out religious teachings that are carried out consciously and sincerely which are practiced in the social strata of society. The purpose of this study was to determine the social-religious behavior of farm workers in Sungkai Jaya, North Lampung and the inhibiting factors of farm workers in carrying out social-religious practices in Sungkai Jaya, North Lampung. The method used is the field method (Field Research). Data obtained through the method of observation, interviews and documentation. There were 3 informants with the criteria of having worked for at least 5 years, aged 25-50 years, already married, did not own agricultural land. Data analysis was narrated in a qualitative description through three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that the social behavior of farm workers is very good in terms of mutual cooperation activities, visiting sick people, night patrols, and helping each other which is still being implemented today, but for their own religion it is still less visible than when the time for prayer arrives, farm workers are still being in the fields, for example, when the midday prayer arrives, they use their time to rest, not to worship, just as on Friday, only a few come to perform Friday prayers at the mosque. The inhibiting factors for carrying out socio-religious activities are the low economy of farm laborers which forces them to spend their time working hard in order to make ends meet and the low level of education so that they have no other choice but to work as farm labourers.

Abstract

In Indonesia, especially the majority of Javanese people, still believe in traditions that have been passed down from their ancestors, One of the legacies is the Javanese Count, one of which is Pranata Mangsa, which is still carried out by farmers in Ngrangin Village, Sumber pasir, Pakis, Malang. There is one thing that is interesting in this study, namely the farming activities in Ngrangin Village. When the farmers are about to plant, they use the Pranata Mangsa tradition to determine an auspicious day to start farming. The research method used this time is a qualitative research method with observation and interview techniques to collect data. The farmers of Ngrangin Village still apply Javanese calculations because this tradition needs to be preserved because they think that if this tradition is not carried out, unwanted things will happen, such as crop failure. This is also a form of respect for their ancestors, so this will strengthen the trust of the people of Ngrangin Village and maintain this tradition. In Ngrangin Village, the farming process does not have to be completed on that day, only the planting process. The people of Ngrangin Village also celebrate, which is a form of expression of gratitude to Allah SWT.

Abstract

The phenomenon of using the verses of the Qur’an as a mentre (mantra) in the traditions of the Sasak people is still developing today. However, the fact is that in several ways there is a discrepancy between the meaning of the Qur'anic verses used and its intended function. These verses are used as mentre only because they have the same homophone (sound) with the Sasak dialect or language. This study aimed to reveal how the reception of the Sasak people to the use of verses of the Qur’an as a mentre in which has phonological similarities (homophones) with Sasak vocabulary or dialect. The research data was taken from interviews with several community leaders in Darmaji village, Kopang sub-district, Central Lombok who had in-depth knowledge of ministers. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach as an analytical tool. The results of the study showed that the use of inconsistent verses of the Qur’an (meanings and functions did not match) was a form of the Sasak people's belief in the power of the Qur’an. In addition, the incompatibility in the meaning of the Qur'an which was adapted based on the sound similarity with the Sasak dialect was a form of creativity of the Sasak people in interpreting the Qur'an. In line with that, the authors conclude that the phenomenon that occurs in the mentre tradition of the Sasak people is a form of community of the Qur’an in a magical space.

Abstract

The existence of the text theory has had such a big impact on the struggle of thoughts regarding the completion of verses which are considered to be very contradictory and cannot be compromised. They use the text theory as an alternative to resolve contradictory verses, one of which is Jasser Auda. This research will explain as well as answer the existence of the text from the perspective of Jasser Auda and its relation to QS al-Taubah [9]: 5) which is often considered to have written other verses, so this research is expected to provide solutions in addressing verses that are externally assessed contradictory. Using a type of qualitative research with library research (library research) holistically, the results of this study indicate that Jasser Auda is one of the contemporary thinkers who rejects texts in the Koran and its existence as a method in ta'āruḍ al-adillah based on several arguments built by him Therefore, Auda offers an alternative method, namely system analysis (systems approach) with an emphasis on the features of wholeness and multidimensionality features (religious thinking that involves various dimensions). By using the features offered by Auda, the conclusion drawn from the analysis of QS al-Taubah [9]: 5) is that this verse does not contradict other verses.
