The ability of students to understand mathematical concepts is very important, because when students understand mathematical concepts, students can apply and use these concepts to further abilities, for example students can analyze a problem after understanding the concept. If students do not master the concept, it is certain that students cannot continue material that requires abilities beyond the ability to understand concepts. One technique in learning mathematics to improve students' ability to understand mathematical concepts is to use the Think Pairs Share (TPS) learning model developed by Frank Lyman Laura. The Think Pairs Share (TPS) learning model is one of the cooperative learning models. Learning with the TPS method is learning that stimulates student activity to think and discuss the results of their thoughts with their groups and also stimulates students' courage to express their opinions in front of the class. In addition, it can encourage and provide opportunities for students to restate opinions or ideas, listen to other groups, and respond appropriately to the opinions of other groups. The atmosphere generated will be more enjoyable because students learn and exchange ideas with peers so as to improve students' ability to understand mathematical concepts.

Ethnomathematics is a study that combines mathematics and culture. Culture is a legacy passed down from ancestors that becomes a characteristic or characteristic of a particular region, one of the regions that has characteristics that are famous for its culture is the city of Palembang. Palembang city has various cultures that are in great demand by outsiders such as the Limas traditional house and jumputan cloth. Discussing about culture, this is certainly inseparable from learning concepts found in everyday life, one of which is the concept of learning mathematics. Where in this case the researcher takes the concept of mathematics on the phytagorean theorem associated with Limas houses and jumputan cloth. The type of research that researchers use is ethnographic qualitative research. Data sources are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques through interviews, observations and documentation. The data obtained was then analysed by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions and verification. The result of this research is that Palembang culture, namely the Limas house roof, has the application of the phytagoras theorem concept. In the motifs of jumputan fabric patterns and the plan of the Limas house looking sideways contains the concept of proving the truth of the phytagoras theorem.

Problems faced about the low student learning outcomes in algebraic form material. The reason for the low student learning outcomes is the lack of optimal action and learning models used in the learning process, thus making students make a lot of concept errors in algebraic form material. To be able to overcome the problem of learning outcomes, it is necessary to do cooperative learning type Two Stay Two Stray. The research method uses a True Experimental Design research design in the form of a Posttest Only Control Design. From the calculation of learning outcomes obtained by class VIIA by using Two Stay Two Stray cooperative learning obtained an average of and a standard deviation of , while class VIIC without using Two Stay Two Stray cooperative learning obtained an average of with the standard deviation . Based on the hypothesis test obtained and with and a significant level ? = 0.05. Because means that Ha is accepted. From testing Ha's hypothesis which states that "There is an influence of Two Stay Two Stray type of cooperative learning on the learning outcomes of Grade VII Middle School students on algebraic form material", the truth is accepted.
