Abstract

Dengue fever is a disease that threatens and disturbs  people, because it causes the patients die in a few days. Various of efforts have been done by the government, started from the  termination of the disease transmission vector, mosquito larva eradication, fogging,  larvacida providing and  counselling abou healthy to the population. This study aims to improve the cognitive and affective abilities of the population in eradicating mosquito larvae which cause dengue fever. Development research was done by implementing the participatory counseling model and the surveying method. Participatory extension model was implemented in three stages, 1) collecting information from citizens about the dengue fever patients, 2) consulting the expert, and 3) collaborating for joint  decision making. In the first year of survey to the public’s behavior towards the eradication of dengue mosquito larvae showed that, community was lacking  of  participation then  dengue mosquito larvae was under control, so the dengue disease was always be in the community.It was proved from the high population of mosquito larvae and the result of the conducted research The same results in the second year, the dengue mosquito larvae population was still relatively high. The development of a conseling participatory  model gave significant  influence to increase the cognitive, affective ability and population’s behaviour, also increase and active role in controlling the population of  masquito larvae  In the third year,of the study  population density of mosquito larva was medium .The result of the research after the participatory extension model was conducted showed that there was score improvement. Mosquito larvae controlling behaviour was higher than the cognitive and affective mosquito larvae control abilities . So, it could be concluded that , the cognitive abilities of mosquito larva control and ability of affective control mosquito larvae can significantly improve the mosquito larvae behavioral control .Keywords: counseling, participatory, dengue, mosquito larvae

Abstract

The scientific approach is believed to be the golden bridge and the development of attitudes, skills, and knowledge of learners. Implementation of the scientific approach consists of five learning experiences are: observing, questioning, experimenting, associating, and communicating. The objective of this study was to determine the Implementation of Scientific Approach to Learning in Elementary Education Malang. The design study is cross sectional, st udy sample consisted is 10 Natural Sciences Teachers of Elementary School and 10 Natural Sciences Teachers of Junior High School taken by simple random sampling. Data collection method used was a questionnaire, observation, and interviews, while the data analysis methods used are 2 independent samples t-test. The results showed that; 1) a score average knowledge in the scientific approach to learning for Natural Sciences Teachers of Elementary School at 69.5 while for Natural Sciences Teachers of Junior High School at 78.5, 2) a score average skills in the scientific approach to the implementation of learning for Natural Sciences Teachers of Elementary School at 70.0 while Natural Sciences Teachers of Junior High School at 81.0, 3) there are significant differences in the scientific approach to knowledge for learning among Natural Sciences Teachers of Elementary School and Natural Sciences Teachers of Junior High School (t-hit > t-tab0,01, 4.407 > 2.878), and 3) there is a significant difference approach implementation skills scientific learning among Natural Sciences Teachers of Elementary School and Natural Sciences Teachers of Junior High School (t-hit > t-tab0,01, 33.033 > 2.878). From the results of such research can be concluded that implementation of the research results Scientific Approach in Education in Primary Education Malang different between Elementary School and Junior High School Malang.Keywords: Scientific Approaches, Learning, Primary Education, Elementary Schools, Junior High Schools

Abstract

This study aims to build a socioscientific issues discussion framework through social networks "facebook". This is a developmental research within cyclic model. Five cycles performed to find a a socioscientific issues discussion framework that can support argumentation skill.  Almost 183 participants were involved in the development of  socioscientific issues discussion framework. Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effects of multiple intelligences based learning through practical work to investigate student’s Scientific Process Skills and concept understanding of Spermatophyte in Upper Secondary School. This quasi experiment study used pretest-posttest control group design with a cluster random sampling in MA As-Sa’adah Sukasari Sumedang. A total of 64 students of Grade 10 from two classes (Experiment class N=32 and Control class N= 32) participated in the study. Some instruments were involved in this study such as: (1) Pre test and post test to measure students’ Scientific Process Skills; (2) Pre test and post test to measure students’ concept understanding; (3) Students’ Questionnaire; and (4) Observation sheet. The data was analysed by SPSS 20 Program to test the normality, homogeneity, and t-test. The results showed that there is a significant difference of students’ Scientific Process Skills and concept understanding post test in experiment class and control class showed with tcount 3,02 and P value 0,004 < α= 0,05 for Scientific Process Skills, because of P value < α= 0,05 so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted meaning that Scientific Process Skills in experiment class and control class is a significant difference, then result showed with tcount 3,43 and P value 0,001< α= 0,05 for concept understanding, because of P value < α= 0,05  so the conclusion obtained H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted meaning that concept understanding in experiment class and control class is a significant difference. It showed that multiple intelligences based learning through practical work is significantly affect students’ scientific process skills and concept understanding. Abstract

ABSTRAK   Sumber daya alam merupakan komponen-komponen di alam yang bersifat dapat diperbaharui dan tidak dapat diperbaharui. Contoh sumber daya alam yang dapat diperbahurui adalah jenis hewan dan tumbuhan sedangkan yang tidak dapat diperbaharui adalah tanah, air, udara, dan mineral.Kreativitas merupakan hasil dari proses berpikir kreatif, dalam proses tersebut melibatkan keterampilan kognitif, afektif dan psikomotorik yang dapat menghasilkan ide-ide baru,  atau menggabungkan ide-ide yang sudah ada. Ide-ide tersebut dimulai dari timbulnya permasalahan, melakukan observasi, menghubung-hubungkan (asosiasi) hasil observasi dengan fakta yang ada, memilih solusi alternatif yang telah dibuat, dan melakukan sebuah percobaan untuk menguji ide-ide sehingga menjadi sebuah kombinasi ide yang baru dan tercipta produk baru. Pembelajaran berbasis proyek merupakan metode belajar yang sistematis, yang melibatkan mahasiswa dalambelajar pengetahuan dan keterampilan melalui proses pencarian/penggalian (inquiry)yang panjang dan terstruktur terhadap pertanyaan yang otentik dan kompleks sertatugas dan produk yang dirancang dengan sangat hati-hati. Tujuan penelitianini adalah untuk mengetahui kreativitas mahasiswa dalam mengolah sumber bahan pangan yang ada di sekitar lingkungan mereka melalui pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Subyek penelitian adalah mahasiswa pendidikan biologi semester V (n=34). Instrumen penelitian berupates berpikir kreatif. Desain penelitian menggunakansingle-group design yaitu One-Group Pretest-Postest Design. Analisis data dilakukan secara diskriptif kuantitatif. Kreativitas mahasiswa dalam mengolah bahan pangan dapat dilihat dari pemberian nama produk dan kebaruan bahan dasar pembuatan produk fermentasi.   Kata kunci:  kreativitas, Pembelajaran Berbasis Proyek, mikrobiologi pangan dan industri

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan model pembelajaran sains biologi melalui aktivitas  bermain di Taman Kanak-kanak. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode penelitian pengembangan dengan 4 (empat) tahapan: (1) tahap pra-penelitian: studi literatur, wawancara guru dan observasi pembelajaran, (2) tahap pengembangan awal: perancangan awal dan uji-coba-revisi desain, (3) tahap pengembangan: uji-lapangan dan revisi desain, dan (4) tahap pengembangan akhir: evaluasi penerapan desain model pada kegiatan pembelajaran sains di TK.  Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Taman Kanak-kanak di Jakarta Timur, dengan melakukan pengamatan dan kajian pembelajaran sains biologi di 3 (tiga) TK sebagai sampel penelitian, pada tahapan pra-pengembangan penelitian, dan implementasi desain model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dilaksanakan pada 1 (satu) TK di Jakarta Timur. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian pengembangan ini adalah: (1) model pembelajaran sains melalui bermain di TK yang dikembangkan efektif diterapkan pada pembelajaran sains TK, (2) rancangan model dikembangkan berdasarkan hasil studi literatur dan survei pembelajaran sains di TK, bahwa keberhasilan pembelajaran ditentukan oleh guru, namun sebagian besar guru menyadari pengetahuan dan kecakapan mereka tentang sains terbatas, (3) struktur model pembelajaran sains melalui bermain di TK, sebagai hasil yang dikembangkan, mencakup:  deskripsi tema-tema sains, rumusan kompetensi dan  indikator hasil belajar, tujuan pembelajaran terfokus pada keterampilan proses dan sikap sains, jaring konseptual aktivitas bermain sambil belajar, deskripsi materi sains esensial untuk guru, dan skenario dan evaluasi pembelajaran sains melalui bermain. Abstract

The research aims to improve the ability of student’s find and connect concepts through implementation ofinstruction in discussion phase guided inquiry learning. The research is a classroom action research with 2cycles. The research procedure includes stages planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Subjects of thisresearch are Senior High School students consist of 10 male and 22 female. Data collected with observation,interview, documentation, and test for measure score of concept map’s students. The data validation usedtriangulation method. The analyzed data technique were using qualitative-descrptive with stages data reduction,data display, and drawing inference. The result of the research showed score of concept map in the pre-cyclehave range 3,1%-10,8% and average score 6,7% with 50%  students above the average. Score of concept mapin the cycle I have range 6,8%-34,8% and average score 14,6% with 35,4% students above the average. Scoreof concept map in the cycle II have range 7,9%-42,9% and average score 15,6% with 27,5%  students abovethe average, thus the ability of student’s find and connecting concept  was improved by the range and averagescore of concept map from pre-cycle to cycle II.

Abstract

Pullorum atau berak kapur adalah salah satu jenis penyakit yang menyerang anak ayam mulai umur ( 0 – 10 ) hari. Penyakit ini disebabkan oleh Salmonella pullorum. Untuk mengobati penyakit ini peternak sering menggunakan zat-zat kimia berbahaya seperti tetra chlor dan lain-lain. L acidophilus adalah salah satu bakteri asam laktat menghasilkan asam organik dan bakteriosin. Tujuan penelitian yaitu membuat pakan ayam broiler mengandung L.acidophilus yang berguna untuk menghambat S pullorum. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non faktorial dengan 2 faktor. Faktor pertama yaitu jenis pakan (R) terdiri dari  R0, R1, R2, R3 dan R4. Faktor ke 2 metode pemberian pakan yaitu preventif dan simultan.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan jenis pakan yang dapat menghambat S pullorum secara preventif adalah R3 dan simultan R3, LD50     S pullorum pada ayam broiler yaitu 107, Zona hambat          L acidophilus terhadap S pullorum secara in vitro yaitu 107, Viabilitas L acidophilus dalam pakan 35 hari.Keywords:        L acidophilus, S pullorum, LD50, Zona hambat, Viabilitas

Abstract

Dandruff  is  the most head skin problem. If it does not treatment as possible as, dandruff can cause hair drop off. Dandruff  is  caused by microorganism, especially fungal. Noni (Morinda citrifolia) fruit has an activity as antifungal. The aim of this research was to know the inhibition effect of Noni extract toward fungal isolates that can cause dandruff. This research was exploration research. The steps in this research included : (1). Isolation microorganism from dandruff on Potatos Dextro Agar media by Spread plate methode. (2). Purification was done to get a pure fungi isolate by streak plate methode. (3). Made Noni extract. (4). Inhibition test of Noni extract toward fungal isolates by paper disc methode. Based on this research, there were 18 fungal isolates from the purification. Three isolates was knowen as kapang and 15 isolates as yeast. Noni extract could inhibit the grow of 14 fungal isolates with diameter of inhibition zone about 10 until 35 mm. Seven isolates could be blocked with strong category (the diameter of inhibition zone ≥ 25 mm), namely : J4 (30 mm), J5 (35 mm), J8 and J16 (26 mm), J13 (33 mm), J14 (25 mm),  and J18 (28 mm). The conclusion of this  research is Noni fruit extract can be used as an alternative medicine to treatment dandruff. Keywords: Noni fruit extract, antifungal, dandruff
