Abstract

Creative thinking is one of the important competencies as part of the life skills that become one of the national educational purposes. Every individual needs the creative thinking ability to solve problems in life. It is because with creative thinking, individuals can be trained to solve problems in different ways and diverse. Giving problems to be solved by the student’s can trace the creative thinking ability as well, because to solve a problem, one must have the creative thinking ability. The purpose of this research was to describe the student’s creative thinking ability Program Biology Education of Lambung Mangkurat University in problem solving of animal ecology. Type of this descriptive research with a quantitative approach. Population in this research is all student’s Biology Education of Lambung Mangkurat University who have taken animal ecology course in academic year 2015/2016 which amounted to 82 people, with a sample 30% of the population, that is 30 students taken from three categories high, medium and low based on the value of animal ecology course. The data generated in this research were analyzed using data analysis techniques descriptive quantitative. Quantitative data obtained from the results of the assessment of student answers to the question of written assignment that will be analyzed in percentage, then converted into descriptive data according to the category based on the percentage obtained. The results of this research indicate that the level of creative thinking ability student’s Biology Education of Lambung Mangkurat University dominant at the level of quite creative.

Abstract

Research on Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) strategy implementation in Plant Anatomy Course, which aims to improve anatomic literacy of prospective student’s biology teacher, has been done.  This study used an experimental method, with a quasi experimental pretest posttest control group design. The draft includes a group of students who were given a pre-test (tests performed before PAL treatment) which is then followed by observing the PAL treatment process and posttest. The other students group (control) was given the pretest and posttest only. The research instruments include a questionnaire to recruit tutor, a set of pretest and posttest questions about anatomic literacy, tutorial about anatomic literacy, and questionnaires about student response to the PAL program. The results showed that the student’s anatomic literacy in Plant Anatomy course increased with moderate category (N-gain 0,38) in the experimental class and lower category (N-gain of 0,14) in the control class. There was significant difference between the student’s anatomic literacy that used the PAL strategy and control class with t value 3,729 greater than t table 5,278 at α 0,001. Thus the PAL strategy implementation can be used to improve student’s anatomic literacy. All students respond positively to the PAL strategy.

Abstract

Research has been conducted conducted research to improve the understanding of students and strengthening the character through the integration of passages qauliyah on lecture material development of animals. This research is descriptive research that is focused on the integration of learning materials to strengthen the character through the study of passages qauliah set forth in the form of a paper-making tasks in subjects Animal Development held in Biology Education Studies Program, Department of Mathematics and Science Education at the University of Riau FKIP semester year 2014/2015 teachings. The subjects were students of Biology Education Program S1 are taking courses totaling Animals Developments 31 people. Research parameters measured in this study is the ability of students to integrate the value - the value of character include: religious, honest, disciplined, hard working, creative, independent, curiosity and duties in the form of a report in the form of paper. The result showed the depth of material is relatively good student it is seen by the results of student papers, 48.4% (15 people) of students scored on the category A, 45.2% (14 people) of students scored at the category B and only 6, 5% (2) category students studying material enough in the development of the selected animals. It shows more than 90% of students are able to explore and discuss the materials specified (in the form of verses kauniyah) to explore and integrate verses qauliyah (verse Al-Qur, an). Based on the results and discussion of this study concluded that understanding and strengthening the character of the students can through the integration of passages qauliyah with lecture material development of animals in Semester 2014/2015 in Biology Education Studies Program, Department of Mathematics and Science Education FKIP Riau UniversityKeywords: reinforcement, character, verses qauliah, materials, development of animals

Abstract

Rehabilitasi Lahan Marginal Tipe Entisols Melalui Pembongkaran Bahan Induk dan Penambahan Bahan Organik. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Pangkep dari Bulan April sampai Oktober 2013. Penelitian menggunakan model Rancangan Petak Terpisah, dengan Petak Utama (PU) adalah Pembongkaran Tanah 30 cm (P1) dan Pembongkaran Tanah 60 cm (P2), sedangkan Anak Petak (AP) adalah komposisi kompos limbah padat organik : K1= 10 ton/ha, K2= 20 ton/ha, K3= 30 ton/ha, K4= 40 ton/ha. Parameter yang diamati adalah fisik dan kimia tanah yaitu : kerapatan lindak, kadar air tanah, KTK tanah, pH tanah, kandungan N, P, K, dan C-organik tanah, sedangkan parameter tanaman adalah tinggi tanaman. Hasil yang diperoleh berdasarkan hasil analisa sidik ragam pada interaksi antara Pembongkaran tanah dan komposisi gulma berbeda nyata, dan berdasarkan hasil analisa uji lanjutan BNT diperoleh 1) Interaksi antara perlakuan pembongkaran tanah (P) dengan pemberian kompos limbah padat organik (K) pada tanah berpengaruh nyata terhadap penurunan kerapatan lindak tanah (Bulk Density), peningkatan kadar air tanah, penurunan pH tanah, peningkatan KTK tanah, peningkatan kandungan N, P dan C-organik tanah. 2) Interaksi antara perlakuan pembongkaran tanah (P) dengan pemberian kompos gulma (K) pada tanah berpengaruh nyata terhadap  tinggi tanaman jagung. Kata kunci : Entisol, Pembongkaran tanah, Kompos, limbah padat organik

Abstract

This research aimed to improve creative thinking ability and to reduce misconception on ecology in the students of X MIPA 3 of SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in the academic of 2014/2015 through the application of e-module based on Problem-Based Learning.This research was a Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The subject of research was the X MIPA 3 graders of SMA Negeri 6 Surakarta in the academic of 2014/2015 consisting of 9 boys and 21 girls. Techniques of collecting data used were essay test to measured creative thinking ability, open ended reasoning of two-tier diagnostic test to measure misconception, observation and interview as the proponent data. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative technique consists of three components: data reduction, data presentation, and taking the conclusion. Data validation of this research was triangulation method. Target of the research is an increase 20% on creative thinking aspectsand decrease misconception 20% on ecology concepts at the end of the cycle.The result of research showed that there was an increase in each aspect of creative thinking ability: 24.68% of fluency, 34.17% of flexibility, 50% of originality, and 21.67% of elaboration. On the other side, the  result of research also showed that there was a decrease in misconception in the important concepts of ecology including: 43.42% of population, 32.78% of community, 20.6% of food chain and web, and 47.92% of the ecology concept in science, environment, technology and community (salingtemas).The conclusion of this research described that the application of e-module based on Problem-Based Learning is able to improve the ability of creative thinking and reduce the students’ misconception in ecology.Keywords: e-module based on Problem-Based Learning, misconception, creative thinking

Abstract

Belajar biologi adalah belajar tentang fenomena yang ada dan terjadi di alam sekitar melalui aktivitas kegiatan ilmiah oleh peserta didik, sehingga cara belajar biologi yang tepat adalah dengan pembelajaran aktif dan kontekstual. Pembelajaran aktif dan kontekstual dapat didesain oleh guru sebagai orang yang bertanggung jawab dalam proses pembelajaran peserta didik dengan menerapkan teori dan prinsip pembelajaran aktif dan kontekstual. Model pembelajaran  Experiential  Jelajah Alam Sekitar  (EJAS) merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran aktif dan kontekstual yang dapat digunakan sebagai  pedoman untuk mendesain pembelajaran di kelas oleh peserta didik karena model pembelajaran EJAS merupakan model pembelajaran biologi yang memberikan pengalaman langsung pada proses belajar peserta didik dan mengembangkan potensi keterampilan dan sikap yang dimiliki mereka melalui proses pembelajaran. Guru perlu berkolaborasi dengan rekan seprofesi dalam satu bidang studi melalui kegiatan  lesson study  untuk mendapatkan desain pembelajaran yang efektif dan efisien untuk memudahkan belajar peserta didik dalam mendapatkan pengetahuan dan pengembangan skill untuk menghadapi dan mensikapi perubahan masa depan.  Kata Kunci: Desain Pembelajaran Biologi, Lesson Study, Model Experiential Jelajah Alam Sekitar

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: a) mengidentifikasi pengembangan workshop SSP setiap prodi di FKIP UNS, b) mengidentifikasi sejauhmana pemahaman dosen-dosen FKIP UNS terhadap SPP, c) efektivitas workshop dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dosen terhadap SSP. Masih kurangnya pemahaman dosen FKIP UNS terhadap SSP disebabkan kurang baiknya sistem pengembangan SSP di tingkat Prodi. SSP yang dikembangkan di tingkat prodi hanya dilakukan oleh dosen tertentu (taskforce) dampaknya belum semua dosen di FKIP UNS dapat membedakan antara sistem pembelajaran di PPG dan Akademik S1. Dosen yang mengembangkan SSP PPG di prodi juga masih banyak variasi perbedaannya. Salah satunya adalah peran guru pamong, yang mestinya harus sudah ada saat workshop SSP, sebagian besar dosen masih menganggap sama dengan guru pamong PPL. Demikian juga dengan terminologi peerteaching dan microteaching masih banyak perbedaan antara satu prodi dengan prodi yang lain.   Kata kunci: subject specific pedagogy, Pendidikan Profesi Guru, Workshop SSP

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Gangguan metabolism lipid atau dislipidemia berupa hipokolesterol dan hipertrigliserida biasa dijumpai pada penderita Diabetes mellitus (DM), mengikuti adanya gangguan metabolism karbohidrat sebagai manifestasi utama penyakit diabetes, yang mana dislipidemia tersebut dapat memacu timbulnya penyakit lain seperti jantung koroner dan aterosklerosis. Hasil dari beberapa penelitian dan kajian pustaka menunjukkan bahwa daun kluwih diduga dapat menjadi alternative pengendali diabetes. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui kadar kolesterol dan trigliserida darah tikus putih (Rattus norvegicus L.) yang dibebani glukosa sebagai manifestasi kondisi diabetic,setelah pemberian ekstrak daun kluwih Artocarpus altilis Park. Penelitian menggunakan 12 ekor tikus putih yang dibebani glukosa 4,5 g/kg BB per oral. Tiap sampel dibagi dalam empat kelompok yaitu K1 dibebani glukosa tanpa perlakuan, K2  glibenklamid, K3 jelompok uji ekstrak etanol daun kluwih dan K4 kelompok uji ekstrak air daun kluwihPengukuran kadar kolesterol total darah dengan metode CHOD PAP dan kadar kolesterol total darah dengan metode GPO PAP.  Perlakuan dilakukan selama 14 hari. Data dianalisa secara statistic dengan program MINITAB 14 untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan pada tiap kelompok. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun kluwih dapat menurunkan kadar kolesterol dan trigliserida darah tikus putih yang dibebani glukosa, dimana kedua bentuk ekstrak yaitu ekstrak etanol dan ekstrak air memiliki kemampuan relative sama dalam menurunkan kadar kolesterol dan trigliserida.   Kata Kunci:  Diabetes mellitus, daun kluwih Artocarpus altilis Park., kolesterol,trigliserida   ABSTRACT   The aims of this research are to know blood colesterol and triglycerid level of rat Rattus norvegicus L. glucose loaded with treatment of breadnut leaf extract. The research was carried out which use 12 rats were oral glucose loaded 4,5 g/kg BW. Each samples was decided in four groups, K1 glucose group, K2 glibenclamide group, K3 etanol extract of breadnut leaf, and K4 water extract of breadnut leaf. Measurement of colesterol and triglycerid level were taken by CHOD PAP and GPO PAP method. The result show that extract of breadnut leaf can decrease blood colesterol and blood triglicerida level, where etanol extract of breadnut leaf same effective as water extract to decrease colesterol and tryglicerid level.   Kata Kunci:  colesterol, triglyceride, Diabetes mellitus, breadnut leaf, Artocarpus altilis Park

Abstract

Radikal bebas merupakan molekul yang kehilangan salah satu elektron dan sangat reaktif. Molekul ini berusaha mencari elektron lain dari berbagai sumber termasuk molekul biologis untuk menjadi stabil. Radikal bebas ini dapat merusak membran fosfolipid, mempercepat proses penuaan  serta menimbulkan berbagai penyakit. Pembentukan radikal bebas dalam tubuh manusia dapat terjadi secara alami maupun induksi dari lingkungan yang akan didiskusikan bersama dengan kerusakan molekulernya. Antioksidan yang adalah senyawa yang mampu menetralkan radikal bebas tersebut dapat berasal dari dalam atau dari luar tubuh manusia melalui makanan yang dikonsumsi. Rumput laut merupakan salah satu sumber antioksidan karena mengandung senyawa bioaktif seperti karotenoid, senyawa fenol dan turunannya, sulfat polisakarida, dan vitamin. Review ini akan memberikan uraian tentang senyawa-senyawa bioaktif tersebut sebagai sumber antioksidan alami. Mekanisme antioksidan karotenoid, fenol dan turunannya, serta vitamin rumput laut yang diuraikan adalah melalui abstraksi atom hidrogen; sedangkan uraian mekanisme pada sulfat polisakarida dan fikobilin masih diselidiki. Selanjutnya, berbagai senyawa bioaktif dari beberapa spesies rumput laut, dan penelitian yang membuktikan kemampuan antioksidan rumput laut juga akan diuraikan.   Kata kunci: Senyawa Bioaktif, Rumput Laut, Antioksidan, Radikal Bebas

Abstract

The teacher acts as a facilitator in improving critical thinking skills through student-centered learning. This descriptive study aims to explain the critical thinking skills of high school students in biology learning. The subjects of the study were students of SMA Negeri 4 Barabai class XI IPA 2 academic year 2016/2017 amounted to 26 people. This research was conducted February - April 2017 in SMA Negeri 4 Barabai. Types of data obtained in this study include a) Data communication ability, b) Data ability to formulate questions. Data were collected through observations and categorized by rubric 4 (excellent), 3 (good), 2 (enough) and 1 (less). The results obtained a) the ability to communicate increased (57%, 73%, 84%), b) the same is also found in the ability to formulate questions (65%, 76%, 88%).
