Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of effectiveness in the learning process in receiving and processing information to acquire reasoning abilities as students still had cognitive load. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning for two stay two stray on Spermatophyta material to decrease the intrinsic cognitive load corresponding student's learning style. The method used is a quasi-experimental design with posttest only. The subjects were high school students of class X IPA at SMAN 7 Bandung. Control class (34 students) using conventional pembalajaran strategies and experimental classes (33 students) teaching methods two stay two stray. The research instrument used in the form of essay that describes the students' reasoning ability and task complexity are arranged in the form of questions in worksheet students to determine the ability to receive and process information. Data were analyzed by using a different test average and correlation test. The results of the calculation of average ability to receive and process information on the audio learning styles experimental class is higher than the control class. In the experiment class decline intrinsic cognitive load correlated with increased learning outcomes for students with learning style audio. These results illustrate that the use of learning strategies two stay two stray has lowered the intrinsic cognitive load of students who have learning style audio.Keywords: cognitive load, learning styles and learning methods two stay two stray

Abstract

Fungi needs utrient, a source of energy and certain environmental conditions in order to growth. PDA was a common medium used to grow fungi in laboratories. The high of instant media PDA encourage researchers to find out alernatif media of the raw materials was easily available and more cheap. This researche determine the fungal growht in alternative media on carbohydrate source of the Canna edulis, Dioscorea aculeata and Maranta arundinacea. This study was an experimental studi using Completely Randomize Design (CDR), two factor. The first factor is a type of fungi: Candida albicans (J1), Aspergillus niger (J2). The second factor was the types of alternative media: the media of Canna edulis (M1),Discorea esculenta (M2) and Maranta arundinaceae L (M3). The collected data is analized by using qualitative descriptive. In this research Candida albicans was tested by spread method at 28oC for 2 days, Aspergillus niger by agar block method was tested at 30oc for 7 days. The result show that growth of Candida albicans best on medium Canna edulis with a population of 2,87×108CFU/ml  and the size of fungal colony was large white, while the growth of Aspergillus niger best on medium Canna edulis with a diameter about 39,7 mm and heavy sporulation. Both of fungi test showed that almost comparable growth of PDA. Media Canna edulis, Dioscorea aculeata and Maranta arundinacea can be used as  alternatives media for fungal growth. Keyword: fungal growth media, fungal, the source of carbohydrates, PDA.

Abstract

This research is a class act. This study aims to determine the application of learning patterns PBMP (Empowerment Through Thinking Questions) to increase awareness of metacognition in learning Biology MIA in class X - 2 at SMAN 8 Malang . This research was conducted during two cycles , each cycle includes stages : 1) initial Reflection / pre-action, 2) action planning, 3) Implementation and observation , 4) Reflection. The number of students in the class XMIA - 2 as many as 34 students . After analyzing the data , metacognition skills in the first cycle was 56.8 while the second cycle of  70.5. This metacognition skills measured using metacognition rubric (adapted from Corebima,  2011). This column is used to determine the metacognition skills by analyzing the answers to the written test in narrative form of KD 3.7 and 3.8. The conclusion of this research study PBMP patterns can improve the skills of metacognition in learning biology at XMIA - 2 grade students of SMAN 8 Malang . The author gives advice to other researchers to integrate pattern into PBMP teaching models on Curriculum 2013.  Key words : learning  patterns PBMP, metacognition  skills , high school biology subjects

Abstract

The development of the 2013 curriculum in the direction of national education is based more on the strengthening of reasoning, rather than rote. One of the goals of national education is developing the ability of critical thinking in the learning process. In addition, other aspects that need to be considered by the teacher is the cognitive style of students. Because each student has a different cognitive style. Because it is necessary to do research on critical thinking analysis of students who cognitive style of impulsive impractical using Think Talk Write model with the waste media processing of seafood. The subjects were 22 eighth grade students of MTs M 03 Sedayulawas consisting of 8 students with reflective cognitive style and 8 cultivated impulsive style sides. Data collection techniques are Matching Familiar Figures Test (MFFT) tests developed by Warli (2010) to determine civic side style and critical thinking skills that refer to the Ennis (1985) indicators. Furthermore, critical thinking data of reflective and impulsive cognitive style will be analyzed using Mann Whitney test. The results showed that there is a difference between the ability of the cognitive-style perspective style higher value than the critical thinking skills of cognitive-impulsive students. So, it can be concluded that the critical thinking skills of cognitive reflective-style students is better than the critical thinking skills of cognitive-impulsive students in biology lessons using Think Talk Write learning model with waste processing media of seafood.

Abstract

Indonesia akan memiliki SDM  unggul di tahun 2045 dan dapat menentukan jati diri dan nasib bangsa. Keadaan ini dapat dilakukan bila ditunjang oleh bidang pendidikan  sains yang  merupakan skala prioritas saat ini. Perkembangan biologi dewasa ini ditentukan oleh genetika dan perkembangannya sangat spektakuler, untuk itu pembelajaran harus menggunakan strategi yang baik dan tepat, agar pebelajar memahami konsep dengan tepat, benar dan mendalam. Keberadaan ini, jika  terpenuhi, kita  dapat mengikuti, mengantisipasi perkembangan dan menguasai IPTEKS. Salah satu cara yang tepat dalam pembelajaran genetika adalah dengan strategi RQA,  karena pebelajar dapat  memberdayakan kemampuan metakognitif dan pengembangan keterampilan metakognitif pebelajar adalah suatu tujuan pendidikan yang berharga, serta dapat bertanggung jawab kemajuan belajarnya sendiri. Hal ini berdampak pada  retensi pebelajar karena selang beberapa waktu tertentu pebelajar dapat mengingat kembali konsep-konsep apa yang pernah didapat dan bukan tidak mungkin dapat mengimplementasikannya dalam kegiatan kesehariannya. Kegiatan ini hanya dapat diperoleh melalui pendidikan sains. Bangsa Indonesia pada 32 tahun kedepan akan memperingati 100 tahun Indonesia merdeka. Sewajarnya dan tidak boleh ditunda lagi kita mempersiapkan generasi emas yang berkarakter, lewat pembelajaran genetika yang berbasis metakognitif dan retensi agar generasi emas kita mampu bersaing di era global.  Kata kunci: RQA, metakognitif, retensi, generasi emas

Abstract

Malang dan Kota Batu merupakan daerah utama penghasil apel di Indonesia. Sekitar 80% populasi tanaman apel di Jawa Timur. Buah apel yang terlalu matang atau busuk dan juga buah dengan penampilan yang kurang baik hanya menjadi sampah, sehingga diperlukan solusi untuk menaikkan nilai ekonominya. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan mei – juli 2016 bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan buah apel yang lewat matang dan kurang laku jual sebagai substrat pembuatan nata de apel. Apel lewat matang diperoleh dari toko yang menjual buah apel malang. Sampel dicuci, diblender dengan menambahkan air pengencer dengan perbanding 1:1. Kemudian disaring untuk memisahkan ampas dengan cairan sari apel. Selanjutnya diencerkan kembali dengan menambahkan air sehingga menjadi mencapai perbandingan sari apel dan air menjadi 3 macam yaitu : 50%:50% (Sari apel A), 75%:25% (Sari apel B), 87,5%:12,5% (Sari apel C). 100ml masing-masing sari apel dimasukkan ke dalam bolol kaca ditambahkan 10-20 ml bakteri Gluconobacter xylinus. Selanjutnya diinkubasi pada suhu ruangan, diukur pertumbuhannya. Hasil penelitian dari 3 kali ulangan diperoleh pertumbuhan nata de apel pada sari apel A (1,27±0,9cm) lebih tebal dari sari apel B (1,27±0,9cm) dan sari apel B lebih tebal dari sari apel C (0,13±0,1cm)Keywords:        Nata de apel, solusi alternatif,  memanfaatkan, apel lewat matang

Abstract

Introduction: Environmental changes is the last topic in tenth-grade senior high school. This topic can be studied more interestingly when the teacher can present some factual phenomenons all around.This research examined the development of the EML (Environment Mobile Learning) app. Purposes: This research was aimed to (1) Exploits the Mangkunagoro I Forest Park as an instructional media source for Biology learning; (2) Develop an Android-based EML (Environment Mobile Learning) app for learning about environmental changestopic for high school students; (3) Test the feasibility of an Android-based EML (Environment Mobile Learning) app as a learning media for Biology. Methods: The research was a combination of the biological research in Mangkunegoro I Forest Park, and R&D research for the development of the EML app. The ADDIE model by Branch (2009) was used as the research method. The research object was the EML app. The subjects of this study were two media experts, two subject matter experts, a learning expert, two teachers, and tenth graders from one high school in Surakarta. The samples taken from the Forest Park were collected using explorative methods, and the students were selected using purposive random sampling. The data was collected using observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The data collected from Forest Park were analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The data were validated and analyzed based on the experts’ judgments. The data from student trials were analyzed using Rasch Models. Results: The result showed (1) The samples and data from the Forest Park were used as EML’s content; (2) The validation result showed that media experts gave a score of 89,58%, the material experts gave 87,5%, 96,13% from learning expert, and 81,55% from Biology teachers; (3) The Rasch Model showed the person reliability score of 0.85, item reliability of 0.87, and 0.87 for Alpha Cronbach. Conclusion: It concluded the EML was suitable as media to learn about environmental changes

Abstract

Abstract - Ginseng is the family of Araliaceous which has been famous and used in China since 3 BC by its various benefits. It is believed that the more aged the ginseng, the more healing, and the more healthful for the body. In Indonesia, the product of ginseng processed is not well known; as a result this product is not well socialized. One of the ginseng benefits is, counteract the fatigue, giving stimulant effects and releasing the symptoms of aging. Up to now people traditionally used the ginseng root only, while the Red ginseng fruit which has anthocyanin (antioxidants) and various health benefits has not used by the society specially for people in Kediri. The trial processed the red ginseng fruit after the harvest season is intended to introduce the product ginseng processed from Pukad Red Ginseng which is to improve performance and stamina, and to give diet solutions. It has been done three times production. Organoleptic test subject is the students, the official and the lecturer of University of Nusantara PGRI. The food process of pudding red ginseng is doing by mixing the fruit extract of Red Ginseng to the pudding admixture. The result shows that the third product is the most preferred for the flavor, aroma, color, texture, and the packaging which is match with the consumer taste. The utilization the red ginseng fruit is expected to give the motivation for the students of University Nusantara PGRI to make a culinary entrepreneurship. The product improvement, the packaging as well as the licensing for the Pukad Red Ginseng is very necessary to do. Furthermore, this culinary product is expected to promote the variety culinary especially in Kediri.  Keywords: pukad red Ginseng, anthocyanin, improve performance and stamina and diet solution

Abstract

The research aims to increase the ability for finding and connecting concept by addition instruction of regulationstage discovery learning. This research is a Classroom Action Research with 2 cycles. Procedure of researchincludes planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Subject of this research is 11 male students senior highschool and 25 female students senior high school. Data collection with observation, interview, documentation,and test for measure score of concept map. Data obtained in the form of answers and note that measured withconcept map based scoring in concept map expert. Data validation use technique of triangulation method. Dataanalysis conducted data reduction, presentation of data, and conclusion based descriptive qualitative analysis.Result of this research show range of students concept map scores on the pre-cycle 2,6-9% and average is 5,7%,with 18 students above average score. Concept map score on first cycle have range 6,2%-73,6% and average is31%, with 16 students above average score. Concept map score on second cycle have range 14,8-56,2% andaverage is 31,6%, with 21 students above average score, therefore the addition instruction of regulation stagediscovery learning increase the ability for finding and connecting concepts based on concept map score ofstudents from first cycle to second cycle.

Abstract

Guru sebagai pemegang kendali dalam proses belajar mengajar mempunyai kewajiban untuk menstransfer ilmu, tidak hanya mentransfer ilmu guru juga berkewajiban mendidik, mengajar, mengarahkan, membimbing, menilai, dan mengevaluasi. Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan dan ketercapaian pembelajaran guru IPA biologi berbasis scientific approach di SMP Muhamamdiyah 2 Depok Sleman Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian survey. Subjek penelitian ini adalah guru IPA biologi di SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Depok Yogyakarta. Objek penelitian ini adalah keterlaksanaan komponen-komponen scientific approach pada pembelajaran biologi. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa lembar observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut : 1) pelaksanaan pembelajaran oleh guru biologi telah mencakup 3 ranah yaitu kegiatan pendahuluan, kegiatan inti, dan kegiatan penutup dan dikategorikan; 2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran biologi berbasis scientific approach diperoleh : aspek mengamati 88,89% dikategorikan baik, aspek menanya 66,67% dikategorikan baik, aspek mengumpulkan informasi 100% dikategorikan baik, aspek mengasosiasikan 100% dikategorikan baik, aspek mengkomunikasikan 66,67% yang dikategorikan baik.              Keywords:   pembelajaran, guru  IPA biologi, scientific approach
