Abstract

Hypertension is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, with work-related stress identified as a significant risk factor. This study aims to explore the relationship between work stress and the risk of hypertension through a literature review (narrative review). Literature data were obtained from databases such as PubMed and Google Scholar, with inclusion criteria encompassing studies published in the last five years. The analysis results indicate that work stress can elevate blood pressure through the mechanism of stress hormone release, such as cortisol and adrenaline. Additionally, work-related factors such as high workload, long working hours, and unfavorable working environmental conditions contribute to an increased risk of hypertension. The research also indicates that workers experiencing work stress have a higher prevalence of hypertension compared to those who do not experience stress. Preventing hypertension in the workplace requires a holistic approach, including effective stress management, reduction of excessive working hours, and promotion of healthy lifestyles among workers. Company policy interventions and regulations related to occupational health are crucial for reducing the incidence of hypertension among workers. By understanding the relationship between work stress and hypertension, it is hoped that more effective preventive measures can be taken to enhance the health and well-being of workers.

Abstract

Liver function tests need to be carried out on pregnant women, liver function tests to measure enzyme activity in the liver include Serum TestsGlutamate Oxaloacetate Transaminase (SGOT) / Aspartate Transaminase (AST) and Serum Glutamate Pyruvate Transaminase (SGPT) / Alanine Transaminase (ALT) Tests. These examinations can help determine the presence of liver function disorders and can help compile a differential diagnosis. This study was conducted with the aim of early detection of liver dysfunction in pregnant women, using an analytical observational research method with a cross-sectional approach where the data taken was based on primary data at the Pertiwi Mother and Child Special Hospital, and analyzed using SPSS Statistics software. The results showed that the majority of pregnant women who were samples had liver function in the normal category based on the results of Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT) and Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST) examinations. Of the total 30 samples, 96.7% had normal ALT and AST results, while 3.3% showed abnormal results. This shows that liver dysfunction in pregnant women at the Pertiwi Mother and Child Hospital is relatively rare.

Abstract

Anaemia among pregnant women poses a significant risk, serving as an indirect contributor to maternal mortality and negatively impacting pregnancy outcomes. This circumstance, characterized by a deficiency of red blood cells, hampers the delivery of oxygen to bodily tissues, a situation worsened by the heightened demands of pregnancy. Iron deficiency anaemia can lead to various complications, including impaired fetal growth, premature delivery, low birth weight, increased vulnerability to infections, and even fetal demise. The objective of this research is to explore the connectionamong pregnant women's attitudes towards the consumption of iron (Fe) tablets and the prevalence of anaemia. Utilizing a cross-sectional research design and purposive sampling technique, the findings revealed that 36.7% of participants held a negative attitude towards Fe tablets. Furthermore, a moderate correlation was identified among the attitudes of pregnant women regarding Fe tablet consumption and the incidence of anaemia, as indicated by a contingency C value of 0.370. This suggests that the attitudes of pregnant women significantly influence their adherence to Fe tablet inhave. Therefore, maternal and child health programs should have attitudinal factors into account to enhance compliance by Fe tablet consumption, ultimately reducing the risk of anaemia and associated pregnancy complications. Implementing effective behavior change interventions can significantly improve both maternal and infant health outcomes.

Abstract

Acute pancreatitis (AP) is clinically defined as a sudden onset of abdominal pain associated with increased digestive enzymes in the blood and urine. Acute pancreatitis is not necessarily a rare disease, even in children and adolescents and may be life-threatening if it is severe. Therefore, acute pancreatitis should always be considered during the differential diagnosis of prolonged and reccurent abdominal pain in children, and appropriate treatment should be started promptly when necessary. In general, laboratory tests for the diagnosis of AP are not specific, yet amylase and lipase enzyme examination remain helpful to rule out the diagnose. In this report, we present a recurrent abdominal pain 3 years old girl with acute pancreatitis.

Abstract

Cronic kidney failure causes a decrease in glomerular filtration, resulting in the kidneys being unable to remove toxins and producing blood waste so that toxins in the body cannot be removed and circulate in the bloodstream and cause excess body fluids. Blood circulation containing toxic substances can cause various health complaints and can even lead to death, so medical management in the form of hemodialysis is needed to help the glomerulus filter toxic substances, fluids and electrolytes. This study aims to identify the characteristics of chronic kidney failure patients in 2018-2022 who underwent hemodialysis at the Santa Elisabeth Hospital. The study was descriptive in nature using secondary data from medical records. The study population was 24,288 people, with a sample of 100 people, where the sample was taken based on the proportional random sampling technique. Research data was taken from the patient status in the medical record room and hemodialysis room using a checklist sheet. The results showed that 41% of patients were >60 years old, male gender 58%, high school education 62%, unemployed 31%, duration of HD <12 months 60%, and hypertension as the cause of GGK 76%. It is expected that hospitals emphasize recording patient data in the medical record room carefully and completely, to facilitate access to patient data when needed for research and legality needs.
