Abstract

Introduction: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease transmitted through the bite of the Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes and remains a public health problem in tropical countries, including Indonesia. The incidence of DHF tends to increase every year and has the potential to cause an Extraordinary Event (KLB). Effective prevention strategies depend not only on government intervention but also require community empowerment through active participation in Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) with the 3M approach (draining, covering, and burying). Objectives: This literature review aims to analyze the effectiveness of community empowerment-based dengue fever prevention strategies in reducing the risk of dengue fever incidents. Method: This study used a systematic literature review method, searching for articles through the Google Scholar database. Inclusion criteria were full-text articles published between 2020 and 2025 that discussed community-based interventions in dengue fever prevention. Result: The study results showed that community empowerment strategies through health education, mosquito larvae cadres, the National Population and Disaster Mitigation (PSN) movement, and the implementation of 3M were consistently effective in reducing mosquito larvae density and increasing community knowledge and preventive behavior. The combination of education and active community involvement proved more effective than either intervention alone. Conclution: Community empowerment-based dengue prevention strategies have proven effective in reducing the risk of dengue transmission. Increasing knowledge, changing behavior, and active community participation are key to the success of prevention programs. Therefore, strengthening education programs and cross-sectoral engagement is essential on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

Introduction:  Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a group of metabolic disorders characterized by elevated blood sugar levels, or hyperglycemia. Prolonged hyperglycemia can lead to various complications, one of which is diabetic foot ulcers. Diabetic ulcers occur due to impaired peripheral blood flow and nerve damage, reducing the supply of oxygen and nutrients to the foot tissue, leading to tissue damage. One preventative measure is diabetic foot exercises, simple exercises aimed at improving blood circulation, maintaining nerve function, and preventing foot ulcers. Method: This study used a quantitative method with a pre-test and post-test design. Results: showed that most respondents were in the late elderly age group (56–65 years) and the majority were female. The average random blood sugar (GDS) level before the intervention was 314.20 mg/dL, indicating uncontrolled hyperglycemia. Furthermore, screening results using the Inlow's 60-Second Diabetic Foot Screening Tool showed an average score of 8.12, which is categorized as a moderate to high risk for diabetic foot ulcers. After two weeks of regular diabetic foot exercises, the average GDS decreased to 286.84 mg/dL and the foot screening score decreased to 6.04. This indicates improvements in foot condition, particularly in circulation and sensation. Conclusion: Therefore, diabetic foot exercises can be recommended as a preventative measure for diabetic foot ulcers, which can be performed independently by patients as recommended by healthcare professionals.

Abstract

Introduction: Postpartum, or the puerperium period, is the phase that begins immediately after the delivery of the placenta and ends when the mother's reproductive organs return close to their pre-pregnancy condition. From a psychological perspective, postpartum mothers are at risk of experiencing anxiety due to role changes, concerns about the baby's condition, lack of experience in infant care, and hormonal changes that occur after childbirth. Globally, the prevalence of anxiety among women in the general population ranges from 3–8%; however, this prevalence can increase significantly during the postpartum period due to the adaptation to the new role as a mother. Prolonged anxiety can negatively affect the mother's quality of life and interfere with the breastfeeding process. One non-pharmacological intervention that can be applied is the five-finger hypnosis relaxation technique, which focuses on controlling thoughts and emotions through simple stimulation of the fingers. Objectives: This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the five-finger hypnosis relaxation technique in reducing anxiety levels in postpartum mothers. Method: This study used a descriptive case study method with a nursing care approach, which includes assessment, nursing diagnosis formulation, intervention planning, implementation of nursing interventions, and evaluation. The case study was conducted over one day on January 20, 2026, in the Firdaus Ward of ‘Aisyiyah Muntilan Hospital. Data analysis in this study employed a qualitative descriptive approach using three techniques: interviews, observation, and documentation study. Result: After being given the five-finger hypnosis relaxation technique for 30 minutes, the patient's anxiety level decreased, and the patient appeared calmer and more relaxed. Conclusion: The five-finger hypnosis relaxation technique is quite effective in reducing anxiety levels in postpartum mothers.

Abstract

Introduction: Low back pain in adolescents is a serious health problem that is receiving increasing attention worldwide. The condition is quite common, with approximately 46.7% in 15-year-olds. This problem not only affects the physical body, but can also interfere with daily activities, including school activities, sports, and sleep quality. If not managed properly, adolescent LBP has the potential to develop into a chronic condition in adulthood. Objective: to analyze the relationship between the duration of gadget use and sitting position on the incidence of low back pain in students of SMAN 1 Parung, Bogor Regency. Method: a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach was used. This study was conducted on January 23, 2025 with a sample of 267 students selected using a stratified random sampling technique. Results: univariate analysis of frequency distribution was performed. Bivariate analysis using the Spearman Rank (Rho) test found no significant relationship between the duration of gadget use and the incidence of LBP, with a p-value of 0.505 > 0.05. The analysis of the relationship between sitting position and the incidence of LBP found a relationship with a coefficient value of -0.174 and a p-value of 0.004 < 0.05. Conclusion: It was found that there is no relationship between the duration of gadget use and the incidence of low back pain in students of SMAN 1 Parung, Bogor Regency, with a p-value of 0.505 > 0.05. It was found that there is a relationship between sitting position and the incidence of low back pain among students of SMAN 1 Parung, Bogor Regency, with a p-value of 0.004 < 0.05.
