Pillar of Physics Education : Jurnal Berkala Ilmiah Pendidikan Fisika
Pillar of Physics Education: International Journal on Physics Education is an open-access and peer-reviewed journal, published by Universitas Negeri Padang, which is dedicated to intercharge for the results of high-quality in all aspect of physics education. The editors welcome submissions of papers describing recent theoretical and experimental research related to: (1) learning outcome of physics, (2) Learning materials of physics, (3) Learning and teaching theories and models of physics, (4) Learning and teaching strategies and methods of physics, (5) Learning assessment and evaluation of physics, (6) The use of ict and media in learning of physics, (7) Learning management of physics, (8) Research and development in learning of physics, (9) Experimental methods in learning of physics, (10) Action research of learning of physics. The Pillar of Physics Education follows the open access policy that allows the published articles freely available online without any subscription. Submitted papers must written in English for initial review stage by editors and further review process by minimum two international reviewers.

<![CDATA[Literation is needed in facing of 21 st century challengers. To face this challenge The Government of Indonesia encourages the literacy movement at school, which is abbreviated with GLS. The real condition show that science learning is still now well implemented, and student literacy is still slow. The solution of the problem is applying integrated science to charged literacy of the digital age. The objective of the research is to determine the effect of integrated teaching materials on the theme respiration health and exretion of digital literacy on the competence of students of class VIII SMPN 15 Padang.The tipe of reasearch conducted is quasi experimental. The research designed used was a nonequivalent control gruop with posttest only. The population of this study is all students of class VIII registered in semester 1 academic year 2017/2018 SMPN 15 Padang.. This study uses two sample classes. The sample class students are 64 students. This sample class is chosen by combining purposive sampling technique and random cluster sampling. The research instrument is a written test sheet for the knowledge aspect, an observation sheet for the attitude aspect, and a performance assesment sheet for the skill aspect. Research date were analyzed by using descriptive analysis and equality test of two averages.From the data analysis, it can be found that the application of science an integrated teaching materials of the theme of respiratory and excavated health to the knowledge, attitude, and skill aspect of the students of grade VIII SMPN 15 Padang at the real level of 95%. A positive influence on the use of integrated science materials can improve aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Thus an integrated science teaching material of respiratory and excavated healthcare excretion of the digital era is well used for integrated science learning.]]>

<![CDATA[ This study aims to determine the value of the validity of constructivist-based physics teaching materials in inquiry learning. The type of research used is research and development (R & D). To achieve this goal, research (R & D) consists of: potential problems, data collection, product design, design validation, product testing, and product revision. The instrument used is a validation sheet that has been validated by experts. Based on the results of validation by experts, the instrument used is having an average value of 90.83 with valid criteria.Based on the data analyzed there are research results, namely the average value of validity of constructivist based physics teaching materials in inquiry learning by experts with an average value of 82.3 and have very valid criteria. It can be concluded that physics-based teaching materials are constructivist in incuri learning in momentum subject matter and simple harmonic vibrations are very valid for use in physics learning in tenth grade on the second terms.]]>

<![CDATA[Indonesia is the country that is prone to disaster. One of the disasters that are happening in Indonesia is fire. Many fire disasters occur and cause damage that is not a little. Therefore, the necessary efforts to reduce the risk of catastrophic fires. Fire hazard mitigation efforts can be done by providing knowledge and understanding through education in schools. Granting of knowledge and understanding of the catastrophic fires done by integrating disaster material into subjects. The subjects can be integrated material fires one of these subjects is IPA. In fact, in the implementation of learning at the school there has been no integrated material fire. Before integrating the material fire, needs to be done analysis of the suitability of the curriculum aim at a textbook lesson in IPA and IPA material compliance with the material fire. This research aims to know the suitability of the curriculum aim at a textbook lesson in IPA SMP/MTs Class VII semester 1 of aspects of conformance with SKL, KI, KD, scientific approach and assessment of authentic. Then the suitability of material fires with material sience on a textbook lesson IPA SMP/MTs Class VII semester 1 of the suitability of the realm of knowledge, i.e. factual knowledge, conceptual and procedural.Type of this research is descriptive research with qualitative approach. The subject is a textbook lesson IPA SMP/MTs Class VII semester 1 published by A, B and C. Sampling technique used was purposisve sampling. Data collection instruments consist of sheets of the conformity analysis of the goals of the curriculum on a textbook lesson IPA SMP/MTs Class VII semester 1 and sheet material suitability analysis of fires with material science.Results of the study the suitability of a textbook lesson in IPA/MTs Class VII semester 1 with curriculum to books published by A 84.61% kesesuian percentage obtained (very appropriate), B 84.13% (very appropriate) and a textbook lesson published by C was 46, 93% (less fit). As for the suitability of the material with fire IPA SMP/MTs Class VII semester 1 obtained percentage on KD 3.1 20% category is not appropriate; KD 3.2 20% category is not appropriate; KD 3.3 40% category is less appropriate; KD 3.4 40% category are less aopropriate and KD 3.5 46.67% category is quite appropriate.]]>

<![CDATA[Literacy skills required students to answer the challenges of the 21st century. The Government of Indonesia seeks to meet those needs through the School Literacy Movement. School literacy movement is applied through the growing interest rates of reading, responding to enrichment books, and reading strategies in all subjects. In addition, the government also tries to improve students' competence through integrated science learning in junior high school. The reality in the field shows that the learning outcomes of integrated science are still low and the students' literacy is still limited to reading ability only. An alternative solution to solving this problem is to apply integrated sciencestudent worksheet integrate literacy skills. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of the application of the Integrated Science Student Worksheet on the theme of waves in life integrating literacy skills to the competence of grade VIII students SMPN 8 Padang. The type of research used is quasi experiment with research design that is non control research design equivalent only with postes. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling and random cluster sampling. Instruments for collecting data consist of written test sheets for knowledge competencies and observation sheets for skills competencies. Research data were analyzed by statistical analysis using normality test and homogeneity test and equality test of two averages. Based on the data analysis can be stated that the application of integrated LKS wave theme in life integrate literacy skills in scientific approach give a meaningful influence to the competence of students of class VIII SMPN 8 Padang. Integrated the integrated science student worksheet gives influence to students' competence on knowledge, skill, and attitude aspects at 95% level of trust. Thus it can be stated that integrated science student worksheet integrated wave themes in effective life for use in integrated science learning.]]>

<![CDATA[The 2013 curriculum requires science learning in junior high schools to be implemented in an integrated manner and covers all aspects of competence, namely attitudes, knowledge, and skills. The facts of science learning applied in schools have not been integrated. One solution to this problem is to implement contextually integrated science textbooks. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of integrated science books on the competence in class VIII SMPN 13 Padang. This type of research is quasi-experimental research with the design of the Postest only Non-Equivalent Control Group. The population of this study were eighth grade students of Padang State Junior High School 2017/2018 Academic Year, Sampling using purposive sampling technique. Instruments used, an observation sheet for attitude aspects, a written test for knowledge aspects and a performance assessment sheet for skills competency. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, and the average comparison test. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the results of the study are the use of integrated science books on contextual textbooks in everyday life that have a significant influence on students' competencies for the three aspects of competence at 95% level confidence in class VIII SMPN 13 Padang.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the level of suitability of science materials with curriculum objectives in textbooks for junior high school in grade IX semester 2 and to determine the suitability of science materials in class IX textbooks for science junior high school with landslide material.This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The population of the data in this study is all grade IX textbooks of junior high school science lessons published in Indonesia in semester 2 and the data samples in this study are class IX textbooks of semester 2 published by Ministry of Education and Culture 2015, Yudhistira and Erlangga. The data in this study were taken using research instruments and data collection techniques through documentation studies. The suitability percentage of science materials with curriculum objectives in the 2nd semester in the textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Culture is 80% in the appropriate category, then the percentage of suitability of science materials with curriculum objectives in the textbooks published by Yudhistira is 76% with appropriate categories and the percentage of suitability of the Natural Science material with the purpose of the textbook curriculum published by Erlangga is 74% with a category that is appropriate. Then the suitability level of science material for grade IX in semester 2 with landslide material is 29% with an inappropriate category. Science material for grade IX semester 2 is not suitable for integration with Landslide material.]]>

<![CDATA[One of the efforts to improve the quality of physics learning in grade XI SMAN 1 Pariaman is to use LKPD based on creative problem solving learning model. It is expected that this LKPD can contribute in the achievment of students physics competence. This study aims to see how much influence the use of LKPD based creative problem solving learning model of students of class XI SMAN 1 Pariaman. This research is classified into Pre-Experimental Design with One Shot Case Study design study. The populations of this research are students of class XI SMA N 1 Pariaman with regestered semester II year 2016/2017. Sampling is done by purposive sampling technique followed by randomly select to determine the sample class. The data obtained in this research include physics competence data of learnes on attitude, knowledge, and skill aspect.Competence attitude is assessment observation sheet of student attitude. Assessment of knowledge competence is trough obtained written test in the form of multiple choice and assessment of learning process using steps of creative problem solving model.Skill competence is assessed trough performance technique with instrument in scoring rubric. The data of knowledge and skill competence are analyzed using simple linear regression test, linearity test and test of two variable relationship at real level 0,05. The result of the competence analysis of the attitude of the students shows the increase and decrease every week.Meanwhile, the result of knowledge and skills competence analysis shows that there is a significant influence on the use of LKPD based on creative problem solving model with a contribution of 17,64% for knowledge competence and 15,21% for skill competence.]]>

<![CDATA[Today, learning resource can’t to support learning activities of student. Besided, exsperiment activities just demonstrasion in front of the class by teacher, so that learning has not been student centered. One of the learning resources that can help student activity is by using Student Worksheets or as we known as LKS. Worksheets are integrated with the scientific approach and the guided inquiry learning model.This research find the effect students worksheet which based guided inquiry to students competence of physics class X in SMAN 1 Pariaman. The type research is quasi experiment and nonequivalen control group design. The population of this research is all students grade X MIPA in SMAN 1 Pariaman that listed in 2017/2018 years . There are three steps in this research, those are preparation, implementasion, and completion. Nontest data is is obtained from the sheet’s self assessment, sheet’s friend’s assessment and sheet’s performence in laboratorium. Test data is result of students final test. The average of the using students worksheet based guided inquiry in knowledge competence 83,42, the attitude competence is 79,53, on the skill competence is 86,31. The result of average value obtained by students can be concluded that there effect in the using of student worksheet based guided inquiry can be improve students physics competence in class X SMAN 1 Pariaman.]]>

<![CDATA[Spelling puzzle is a simple instructional media that train thinking ability of students and improve social attitudes among learners. In using tools or instructional media needed a learning model that message to the students clearly. One of the science material of VII class Junior High School is global warming and the layers of the earth use many images in understanding the concept. Media spelling puzzle is an alternative media that can be used to understand the concept of the material. The research aimed to determine the effect of usage Spelling Puzzles with Problem Based Learning Model to Student Competency Achievement of Class VII Science on the material of global warming and layers of the earth state junior high school 12 padang. This type of research is quasi experiment with control group pretest-posttest design. The study population was all students of class VII SMP Negeri 12 Padang 2017/2018 school year. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. Research data is the learning outcomes of learners on the competence of attitudes, knowledge, and skills. From the analysis of the data for the three competencies of students obtained the following results: 1) the average value of learning outcomes in competency attitude IPA has increased continuously, 2) the average value of the results of the pretest IPA at both 65 and 62.07 grade samples and results the second posttest grade sample of 82.76 and 75.86 for knowledge competence, 3) average value of science learning outcomes in both sample classes 84.90 and 80.79 for competency skills. From Uman Whitney test, obtained p> α so that the alternative hypothesis is accepted for knowledge competency, while for the skill competencies of Uman Whitney test, obtained p<α so that the alternative hypothesis is accepted.]]>

An alternative solution to solve this problem is to apply the integrated science student worksheet in adaptive contextual teaching model. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of the application of Integrated science student worksheet on digestive health theme toward the competence of grade VIII students in SMPN 13 Padang. The type of research that used was quasi experiment with posttest-only nonequivalent control group design. Sampling technique in this research used purposive sampling. Instruments for collecting data consist of written test sheet of knowledge competency, observation sheet of attitude competency and performance assessment sheet of skill competency. Data from the research were analyzed by descriptive statistical analysis and compare two means test. Based on the data analysis can be stated that the application of Integrated science student worksheet on our digestive health theme has given significant effect toward competence of grade VIII students including knowledge, attitude and skill aspect of competences in SMPN 13 Padang at 95% confidence level.]]>
