Pillar of Physics Education: International Journal on Physics Education is an open-access and peer-reviewed journal, published by Universitas Negeri Padang, which is dedicated to intercharge for the results of high-quality in all aspect of physics education. The editors welcome submissions of papers describing recent theoretical and experimental research related to: (1) learning outcome of physics, (2) Learning materials of physics, (3) Learning and teaching theories and models of physics, (4) Learning and teaching strategies and methods of physics, (5) Learning assessment and evaluation of physics, (6) The use of ict and media in learning of physics, (7) Learning management of physics, (8) Research and development in learning of physics, (9) Experimental methods in learning of physics, (10) Action research of learning of physics. The Pillar of Physics Education follows the open access policy that allows the published articles freely available online without any subscription. Submitted papers must written in English for initial review stage by editors and further review process by minimum two international reviewers.

Abstract

Good education is an increase in the quality of education that is inseparable from the improvement in the competence of students. The purpose of national education is for students' competencies, both in terms of attitudes, knowledge and skills. The effort made by the government is to develop the curriculum from KTSP 2006 to the 2013 curriculum and revise it. Based on the results of the interview, there are many obstacles in the learning process. Implementation in the learning process of teachers still uses the lecture method, lack of use of LKPD in the learning process, lack of implementation of practicum activities in schools, teaching materials used are less attractive to students and not contains steps of activities that must be carried out by students. Therefore, researchers are interested in conducting research that aims to produce LKPD based on Learning Cycle 7E models that are tested for validation. The type of research used is Research and Development (R&D). R & D research methods are research methods used to produce certain products. This research procedure consisted of potential problems, data collection, product design, design validation, and design revision. Product design validation was carried out by three expert lecturers. The components assessed are content worthiness, language, presentation and graphics. The results of the validation of LKPD were 83.67%. Overall LKPD based on Learning Cycle 7E model is in a very valid category so it is suitable to be used in physics learning.

Abstract

The 21st century demands skills that can support human life. Human life is never separated from the various demands that require them to have quality resources so as to make a large contribution to their lives and the lives of the nation. One of the 21st century skills is the 4C skill, namely communication skills, critical thinking skills, collaboration skills and creativity skills. With these 4C skills, students are expected to be ready to face life's challenges and to have quality resources so they don't miss the flow of life and have good competitiveness. In LKS things that we can see from the 4C skills are critical thinking skills, for that in designing LKS we can further highlight them on critical thinking skills, while other 4C skills can be reviewed in the student learning process. However, in learning at SMA N 1 SUTERA 4C skills, especially critical thinking skills have not been fully applied, even though it is really needed. This research belongs to the type of R&D (Research and Development) contained in Sugyono's book. In this discussion we will only see the results of product validity.After product validation, 84.25% was obtained and is in the very valid category. This states that the worksheet can already be used in learning physics

Abstract

Learning physics cannot be carried out simply by memorizing, listening, and seeing without experiencing. Physics learning requires students to be able to think critically, creatively, have problem solving skills, and be able to make decisions. In order for students to get meaningful lessons in physics, they need to find their own concepts to be understood. This can be achieved by using an appropriate learning model. One learning model that can be used is guided inquiry. This study aimed to determine the validity of HOTS-oriented worksheets in the guided inquiry model of static fluid learning material. This type of research was Research and Development (R&D). The development steps carried out by Borg and Gall. The instrument used in the study was the validity test sheet. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis.Based on the data analysis, the results show that the HOTS-oriented worksheet in the guided inquiry model on static fluid learning material has a high validity value of 86.65. It means, the learning materials are ready to use in learning process.

Abstract

Significant influence of the 21st century provides a change in education in Indonesia. The 21st century requires everyone to have a variety of skills to be able to compete in the face of the changing times. The government changed the curriculum from KTSP to 2013 curriculum. The 2013 curriculum suggested appropriate learning models used for science and physics learning, one of which was the Inquiry Based Learning (IBL) model. This study aims to analyze the IBL model in learning physics and science. This research method is a meta-analysis with a sample of 10 articles in national journals. The result of this meta-analysis research is that the IBL model can improve student learning outcomes. Media and teaching materials used to support the implementation of the IBL model are virtual laboratories and student worksheets. The dominant material used in the IBL research model is temperature and heat. Most of the research conducted is experimental research, some research development and classroom action research. Therefore, the IBL model is very good to use if the media and teaching materialsĀ  are used are virtual laboratories and student worksheet.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the effect of the use of inquiry based learning model the development of high school physic learning material to increase student competences. The effect will be study from the previous researches. This research used meta-analysis method. Meta-analysis is the study on a number of research results in similar problem. The analysis unit in this research was written documents about the research of high school physic learning material using inquiry based learning model to increase the student competences, these were tenĀ  thesis which was taken purposively based on the compatibility with research theme. The main instrument of this research was self-research assisted by documentations guide. The data analysis that was used were qualitative data analysis for the data analysis for the data of narrative result toward the researches which was found and quantitative data with percentage value. The research result indicated hat high school physics learning material using inquiry based learning model is valid, practice, effective, and able to increase the students competences
